Join the ServerThat night, when it was time to turn in, Lu Jianglian remembered how Jiang Mian seemed completely clueless about so many things today.
Unable to hold back, he reminded him, “When you wash your hair and take a shower, try not to get water on your forehead. Spray the medicine once more before you go to bed.”
Jiang Mian stared at him blankly. His slightly dazed eyes were filled with undisguised confusion as he asked softly, “Why can’t I get it wet?
And what’s a spray?”
Hearing that, Lu Jianglian wasn’t surprised anymore.
He could rule out amnesia.
Although it sounded somewhat ridiculous, he was even beginning to believe that Jiang Mian really had lived in a cave in the forest before.
It was fine.
He could teach him slowly. He would learn eventually.
For some reason, he had an inexplicably good amount of patience with the young man.
Maybe it was because he was so well-behaved.
He was nothing like the two little demons in his family, who had been causing trouble nonstop ever since they were children.
“Do you know how to turn on the hot water?” Lu Jianglian asked as he led Jiang Mian into the bathroom.
Jiang Mian nodded. He pushed the handle to the left, then lifted his chin and looked at Lu Jianglian with a slightly smug expression.
It had taken one dragon a long time to figure this out by himself. He was pretty impressive.
The water was far too hot, and the bathroom quickly filled with steam.
Lu Jianglian said with some difficulty, “…You normally wash with water this hot?”
Jiang Mian didn’t think anything was wrong and instinctively nodded.
Actually, he had lied to Lu Jianglian. He was more accustomed to washing with cold water.
Lu Jianglian lowered the temperature.
“It’s too hot. It’ll scald you.”
Especially with skin as delicate as the young man’s.
!!!
Apart from his skin becoming a little red the first time he’d touched it, he hadn’t actually felt that it was hot.
Was water this temperature really that hot for humans?!
So when human skin turned red, that meant it felt hot.
He silently committed that fact to memory.
As usual, he sighed inwardly.
Being human really did require learning so many things.
He pursed his lips, but in the end, he couldn’t help scratching his cheek and murmuring, “My skin is thick.”
He was talking about his dragon form.
Lu Jianglian’s gaze fell on Jiang Mian’s delicate skin, so soft it looked as though he could squeeze water from it. He neither agreed nor disagreed.
If Jiang Mian’s skin was thick, then his own must have been built out of concrete walls.
He rolled up his sleeves, revealing the smooth, defined lines of his forearm muscles.
“I’ll wash your hair first. You can shower yourself afterward.”
After wetting Jiang Mian’s hair, Lu Jianglian squeezed some shampoo into his palm and worked it into a lather. His long, strong fingers moved through Jiang Mian’s hair again and again.
Through the mirror in front of him, Jiang Mian watched the foam gradually pile up on top of his head. Curious, he raised a hand and scraped a little off.
He lifted his hand and sniffed it near the tip of his nose.
It smelled nice.
Unable to resist, he licked it.
It didn’t taste good.
When Lu Jianglian saw Jiang Mian scrape off the foam, he assumed the young man simply wanted to play around like a child, so he didn’t stop him.
Who would have thought that this idiot would actually put it in his mouth and taste it?
Lu Jianglian rinsed the foam from his hands, gently pinched Jiang Mian’s cheeks, and made him take in some water.
“Rinse your mouth and spit it out. Don’t swallow it.”
Jiang Mian obediently did as he was told. Before Lu Jianglian could even say anything, he voluntarily opened his mouth.
“Ah. There’s none left.”
Knowing that he’d probably done something stupid again, even his voice had taken on a soft, clingy quality.
His small, delicate lips were slightly puffed as he simply allowed someone he’d known for only a day to inspect his mouth.
Lu Jianglian had many calluses on his fingertips, and they rubbed Jiang Mian’s cheek until the flesh turned red.
At a glance, everything about him seemed flushed.
With every breath, that dense, sweet fragrance kept brushing against Lu Jianglian’s face.
His reactions were simply too slow. He looked so innocent and oblivious, unbearably pure, seducing others without even realizing it.
Lu Jianglian’s pupils contracted.
A crack seemed to appear in his otherwise expressionless face, but it vanished just as quickly, leaving him looking as composed as ever.
He gave a quiet hum and said nothing more.
Jiang Mian didn’t notice anything strange about Lu Jianglian. This time, he didn’t make any more little mischief and simply closed his eyes, enjoying himself.
What Jiang Mian didn’t know was that the usually serious Lu Jianglian spent most of the time staring fixedly at his flushed lips through the mirror.
Perhaps because he was simply too thirsty, his Adam’s apple bobbed far too often.
After washing Jiang Mian’s hair, Lu Jianglian told him to take a towel and dry it however he liked before taking his shower.
Before leaving the bathroom, he explained how to use the body wash to Jiang Mian before finally feeling at ease. He especially emphasized that it absolutely wasn’t something he could eat.
Jiang Mian didn’t find Lu Jianglian’s repeated instructions annoying at all. As he nodded, his eyes were still shining brightly as he whispered in admiration,
“You’re amazing. You know how to do everything.”
Hearing Jiang Mian’s praise, the hint of a smile seemed to pass through Lu Jianglian’s eyes.
“It’s nothing. You’ll be this capable too once you learn.”
When Jiang Mian came out after his shower, Lu Jianglian was still sitting in the chair, the spray in his hand.
Jiang Mian hurried over in his slippers. He leaned his face close and let Lu Jianglian smell him, his tone bright and cheerful.
“Lu Jianglian, smell me. I smell so, so good.”
He smelled so good that even Jiang Mian wanted to take a bite out of himself.
They were so close that Lu Jianglian could see the tiny fuzz on Jiang Mian’s face.
“Mm. You smell very nice.”
However, something seemed off.
He raised the back of his hand and lightly brushed against Jiang Mian’s exposed arm.
It was cold.
“You used cold water?” The smile in Lu Jianglian’s eyes faded.
Jiang Mian vaguely sensed that something was wrong with Lu Jianglian’s mood. His eyelashes trembled as he slowly said, “Don’t be angry. I won’t use cold water anymore.”
It was a habit he’d had for so many years. It was difficult for him to change it all at once.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m not scolding you.” Lu Jianglian sighed. “Washing with cold water makes it easier to catch a cold. If you’re hot, you can turn on the air conditioner.”
Jiang Mian pursed his lips. His eyelashes fluttered as he stared blankly at Lu Jianglian.
“What is an air conditioner?”
After asking, he added in a small voice,
“Will you think I’m stupid and troublesome because I don’t know anything?”
Seeing his aggrieved little expression, Lu Jianglian couldn’t help reaching out and ruffling his hair.
“Not stupid at all. You learned a lot today. You’ve already done very well.”
“You’ve done more than enough. If there’s anything you don’t know in the future, I can teach you slowly.”
Patience was the one thing Lu Jianglian had never lacked.
After teaching Jiang Mian how to use the air conditioner, Lu Jianglian finally remembered that he needed to apply the medicine.
As he sprayed the medicine and wrapped the bandage, Jiang Mian couldn’t help sniffing softly.
Lu Jianglian thought he was in pain, so his movements immediately became gentler.
The next second, Jiang Mian suddenly wrapped his arms around Lu Jianglian. His eyelashes lowered as he whispered,
“Lu Jianglian, you’re such a good person. I’ll protect you properly.”
A dragon like him had come to such a strange place, where he didn’t recognize anything and had no one to teach him.
Ever since Lu Fu had brought him back, he’d been terrified that someone would realize he wasn’t human, so he didn’t dare go outside carelessly.
Aside from eating, he had only dared to hide in his room and sleep.
He had thought that if he went to sleep again, he would wake up back in the cave he knew so well.
He knew he was stupid. Even the friends he’d made didn’t want to play with him.
Only Lu Jianglian didn’t dislike him. He even praised him and told him he was doing well.
Now, he didn’t seem quite so afraid anymore.
Lu Jianglian felt the warmth against his chest and quickly tied the bandage into a neat little bow.
