Just then, Shen Jing’an’s gaze suddenly fixated on Lin Duo’s lips. “Hey, your lower lip is a bit chapped. Is it because you’re dehydrated?”

Lin Duo obediently nodded. The two of them gazed at each other from such close proximity, and for a moment, the atmosphere grew surprisingly intimate.
At that moment, Shen Jing’an’s face drew a little closer. “Hey, you haven’t kissed that scumbag, have you?”

“Of course… of course I dare!” Lin Duo was never one to back down in front of this roommate.
A mischievous smile played on Shen Jing’an’s lips. “Then let’s agree now: we have to watch the movie all the way through, and no screaming in the middle!”
“Then… then that’s certainly no problem!”
Soon, Lin Duo regretted her hasty reply.
Lin Duo was naturally timid and rarely watched such films. The one Shen Jing’an had chosen was particularly terrifying, blending atmospheric dread with gore, featuring both malevolent spirits and deranged killers.
Lin Duo’s face paled with fright, but having already promised not to scream, she could only desperately clamp a hand over her mouth.
Unfortunately, covering her mouth soon proved ineffective, forcing Lin Duo to resort to the ostrich method: she would tightly close her eyes the moment the background music began, thus avoiding the horrifying visuals.
However, just as Lin Duo’s eyes were tightly shut, praying for the background music to disappear, she suddenly felt something warm and soft press against her lips.
Curiously, she opened her eyes, only to find her entire field of vision blocked by Shen Jing’an’s small head, which startled her immediately. She recoiled to the other end of the sofa, trembling as she pointed at her friend. “You… you actually stole a kiss from me!”
Shen Jing’an licked her lips, still savoring the moment, a mischievous grin playing on her face. “Hmph, what a shame it was just a quick touch. But your lips are so soft, shall we continue?”
“No!” The thought of her first kiss being inexplicably stolen filled Lin Duo with a surge of indignation. “Why did it have to be me? If you want to know what kissing feels like, you can go find another girl!”
“Because you’re pretty!” Shen Jing’an smoothly crawled along the sofa until she was in front of Lin Duo, one hand lifting the latter’s delicate chin. “Hehe, I just love seeing you with that terrified look, as if you’re about to be violated. Wow, you’re absolutely adorable; I really want to violate you!”
“Pervert!” Lin Duo didn’t hesitate, kicking the little devil off the sofa.
“Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!”
“Serves you right! That’s what you get for ambushing me!”
In truth, Lin Duo’s strength was minimal, and Shen Jing’an wasn’t truly in much pain. She quickly bounced up from the floor and squeezed in beside Lin Duo, a cheerful smile on her face. “Alright, alright, it was just an experiment; I won’t do it again! And I’ve found that the most nerve-wracking part is actually right before the kiss; when your lips truly touch, there’s not much feeling at all. It’s nothing like what they write in books!”
“Can you please stop experimenting on me…? That was my first kiss…” Lin Duo felt a little dejected. After all, her first kiss had been lost so inexplicably, and in the middle of a horror movie, no less—it was entirely different from her beautiful fantasies.
This time, it was Shen Jing’an’s turn to comfort her. “There, there, it was just an experiment, not a real kiss! Oh, and the movie is almost over. Shall we go get something to eat? There’s fresh caviar in the fridge!”
This was Lin Duo’s first time eating caviar, and as she ate, she gradually pushed the earlier incident to the back of her mind.

The bus was crowded at this hour, so Lin Duo found no empty seats and had to stand. As she gazed at the lights outside the window, her mood was surprisingly calm when she recalled Cai Jingyao again. After all, their relationship had only just begun, and nothing profound had truly transpired between them. Moreover, Lin Duo’s affection for Cai Jingyao wasn’t particularly deep.
Consequently, while the breakup brought sadness, it wasn’t the kind that would deeply wound her. Having cried, grieved, and vented, her mood had once again returned to a state of tranquility.
Lin Duo opened her phone, found Cai Jingyao in her contacts, and completely deleted his entry. Then, with a relieved expression, she continued to watch the neon lights outside the window.
