Join the ServerAs Christine had said, the arena was indeed quite spacious. And just by sensing it, one could tell this was no ordinary place. Why?
‘The mana density is too high. Just how many magic arrays are laid here? This is excessive.’
“So, what do you think? Interesting, right? I told you this is the most expensive place in the academy. Just maintaining these arrays consumes half the monthly budget.”
“Why? Is the arena that costly?”
“It’s not the arena that burns money. It’s the arrays—they ensure that students face no real danger while dueling. That’s their purpose.”
Christine spoke with an air of mystery.
“How about it, Liya? Want to give it a try? It’ll be a good experience.”
“Of course! With pleasure!”
Following Christine’s guidance, Liya quickly found the arena’s entrance. But to his surprise, there wasn’t a huge crowd. He had expected spectators gathered around duels.
The door was firmly sealed, and no sound came from within. In short, he couldn’t see what was inside. And that only piqued his curiosity further.
He had never seen anything so interesting in his past life.
With burning curiosity, Liya strode into the arena. And in that instant,
A wave of drowsiness enveloped him completely.
‘What is this?!’
The sleepiness came and went quickly. Liya soon regained his energy, but clearly, something was off. What was happening?
“This is called ‘Virtual Dreamscape,’ a large-scale mental magic. It’s a barrier spell constructed with over thirty magic arrays.”
“A barrier…”
“Yes. No matter how severe your injuries in here, they’ll heal instantly upon leaving. Simple as a dream, right? Very convenient.”
“I see. Truly amazing.”
Liya followed beside Christine, curiously observing his surroundings. Inside the arena were multiple platforms—at least ten or more, from a glance. And every platform had people fighting, both mages and martial artists. So that’s how it is.
“What? Want to give it a try?”
“Yeah! Do I need to register?”
“No need. Just pick a platform owner you dislike, and if they’re not fighting, jump right in. Win, and you stay on. If no one kicks you off before you leave, you’ll earn a hefty score.”
‘I see. A points system. How interesting.’
Novel rules, wondrous magic—everything thrilled Liya. He walked around the platforms, picked his moment, and leaped onto one where a fight had just ended.
“I don’t want to take advantage of you. Rest a bit first, and when your mana recovers, we’ll fight.”
“What are you saying? Mana here is infinite, and injuries heal right after battle. Are you a freshman?!”
The platform owner choked mid-sentence, staring at Liya in disbelief, blinking.
“…Um, excuse me, little one, are you…”
“I’m Liya. Pleased to meet you.”
“Ah? Oh, but, I remember teachers’ kids aren’t allowed here. Little Liya, this isn’t a place for you. Go back, there’s a good child…”
“……..”
Liya felt his politeness was wasted. Though a vein bulged on his forehead, he held back his impulse and replied in a sweet voice, “I’m a transfer student. Please take care of me.”
“Haha, don’t fool big bro. How could there be a transfer student so young? And such a cute girl at that.”
‘Fine. This guy is dead.’
Liya stomped the ground, mana bursting forth. Too lazy to use magic, he charged straight at the owner and lightly tapped his palm on the man’s chest.
Boom! Mana erupted in a spiral, shattering the owner’s defenses and sending him flying.
“Hah!”
A beautiful aerial side kick launched the owner off the platform. Liya landed lightly.
‘I see. I knew you were weak from the start, but this weak? You can’t even judge people. No wonder you’re so weak. Haven’t you heard ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’? I may look female, but in essence, I’m a fine man. And you dare treat me with such disdain? No wonder you’re this pathetic. Maybe you should find a hole to bury yourself in—that might suit your weakling pig identity…’
A torrent of curses. Honestly, Liya felt amazing.
The last time he had cursed so freely like this was in his past life, in his twenties, when he provoked a dragon. The long-lost thrill made him feel young again.
‘Yes! How dare you treat me like a woman!’
“You! Damn brat!!”
“What? Not convinced, pig?” Liya’s lips twisted into a malicious grin. “Then climb back up and get knocked off again.” He raised his guard and shouted.
“Aaaaah!”
This time, the owner got serious—or rather, he was mad with rage. Truly, cursing is the best way to provoke an opponent.
But he was still a bit too weak.
Since Liya disliked this owner, he decided not to hold back. He initiated [Iron Fist Style], gathering mana into his fist, forming magic runes that rearranged into meaning:
[Step back before my unyielding iron fist!]
He punched. The acceleration from stillness to motion exploded the air, creating a gust of fist wind that crashed into the owner like a wall.
“What?!”
The owner’s mana erupted too, likely using a reinforcement spell. But its activation was slow compared to Liya’s runes.
The result was obvious.
The charging owner took a clean punch to the face, then flew in a beautiful arc back to the ground.
Liya even spotted some foam at the corner of his mouth.
‘Maybe I went too far…’
The thought of guilt vanished as quickly as it came. Why? Because—
‘Oh well, no one dies here, and no one even gets hurt! This is all fake, all an illusion!’
Being able to unleash wanton violence after so long relieved much of the stress Liya had accumulated since his reincarnation—from the nuns’ head-pats, hugs, lifts, and all the facts related to his female body. He had to admit, face-slapping was really satisfying.
