Chapter 145: The Weight of Choosing Each Other

Hyunwoo’s pheromones were overwhelmingly stimulating.

Whether he was an Alpha or an Omega no longer mattered—Omega pheromones were far more enticing than he had ever expected.

“Haa, ngh… hurry, move more….”

“No.
If I go too fast, it’ll hurt the baby.”

“Aah… hff….”

Seunghyuk held Hyunwoo tighter.

He soothed Hyunwoo’s restless movements and kept his own motions slow and cautious.

He had to be careful—too much force could harm the womb.

Compared to Hyunwoo, who was already losing himself, Seunghyuk still held on to some reason, moving with shallow, deliberate rhythm.

Hyunwoo twisted and shifted, seeking stronger sensation however he could.

Seunghyuk maintained the slow pace for a while.

Whenever his instincts urged him to move harder under the influence of pheromones, he bit down on his arm until he tasted blood.

Even then, whenever he pushed too deep, Hyunwoo gasped and struggled to keep his mind clear.

“Hnnh… I think… I’m going to… ngh…!”

When Seunghyuk hit a sensitive peak inside, Hyunwoo couldn’t hold on and reached climax first.

Pressed against Seunghyuk’s stomach, he shuddered through the release.

As Hyunwoo’s body trembled, Seunghyuk slowly pulled back from him.

“Kh….”

Watching Hyunwoo’s expression, softened and dazed from the lingering rush, Seunghyuk ran a hand down himself.

Soon after, he reached his own release as well, the warmth spilling across both their stomachs and thighs.

“Haa… ha….”

Hyunwoo exhaled and loosened his body.

His legs, still held open, trembled faintly.

Heat continued to pulse low in his belly.

He felt as though he could go again.

Hyunwoo glanced sideways at Seunghyuk with that thought in mind.

When their eyes met, Seunghyuk lowered his head and placed a soft kiss near Hyunwoo’s eye, right where his small tear mole sat.

“Are you satisfied now?”

“Mm… not really.”

“No.
That’s enough.
Go to sleep.”

“You came twice.
I only came once.”

“…Ha.”

Seunghyuk sighed and shook his head.

Hyunwoo stared at him, clearly displeased.

Truthfully, Seunghyuk still felt a heavy throbbing in his lower abdomen.

Even after finishing twice, the urge hadn’t fully settled—maybe because he had held himself back the entire time.

Hyunwoo noticed the tension and lifted his foot, pressing lightly against him.

“Ugh—Hyung…!”

“You’re not done either.
Right?”

“…Ngh.”

Seunghyuk swallowed hard and glanced downward.

Because of how Hyunwoo had lifted his legs, the view of him was clearer.

The sight—the faint sheen of lingering warmth—made Seunghyuk’s vision dim for a moment.

Soon, he found himself spreading Hyunwoo’s legs again, unable to resist giving him exactly what he asked for.

After a night overflowing with desire, they finally began preparing for their departure.

Most belongings would already be waiting at the home arranged in America, but sorting the essential things still took time.

“Hyung, I’ll handle the rest.
Please go lie down and rest.”

“Ah… should I?”

“Yes.”

Hyunwoo had become used to accepting Seunghyuk’s help.

Besides, after moving around for a while, his stomach felt heavy and sore.

He nodded obediently and returned to the bedroom.

“Mm….”

Looking around at the room he had grown accustomed to, Hyunwoo paused in thought.

Once they left for America, it would be at least a year before he returned.

He needed time to give birth, recover, and settle everything.

It would naturally take that long.

When he had first regressed and found this room unfamiliar, he never imagined things would unfold like this.

He wanted nothing more than to avoid repeating the miserable marriage with Seunghyuk that had led to his death before.

So he tried to distance himself.

Yet he ended up changing physically—becoming an Omega—and now he was pregnant.

‘And in the end, I’m marrying Lee Seunghyuk again.’

There would be no ceremony until after the baby was born, since they needed to keep their marriage quiet.

But legally registering the marriage beforehand was safer for the child.

So they planned to submit the paperwork before leaving the country.

A contract marriage, they called it.

But a marriage was still a marriage.

Hyunwoo couldn’t tell yet whether marrying Seunghyuk a second time was truly the right choice.

Maybe, like before, he would regret it later.

Even now, after watching Seunghyuk’s changed behavior up close, Hyunwoo couldn’t trust him completely.

Nor could he fully trust himself.

What if time passed, and he grew obsessed again?

What if that obsession bored Seunghyuk and made him change his mind again?

Nothing lasted forever.

Just as Seunghyuk’s hatred had once shifted, it could shift again someday.

‘…Stop thinking depressing thoughts.
The baby isn’t even born yet.’

Hyunwoo shook his head firmly.

He lifted a hand to rest softly on his stomach.

Even if things fell apart between him and Seunghyuk, the child would remain.

He had decided to give birth, and he would do his best.

A bond of blood—parent and child—would never break.

For now, that was enough.

Hyunwoo smiled faintly as he imagined the little life he would soon devote himself to.

“Hyung, are you awake?”

“Ah….”

Seunghyuk entered the room after finishing the packing.

Hyunwoo startled slightly and looked up at him.

“Does your stomach hurt?”

“No, it’s fine.”

“I told you not to push yourself.”

“……”

It no longer seemed like Seunghyuk expected him to listen.

He simply worried by instinct now.

Hyunwoo stayed silent.

He couldn’t tell whether Seunghyuk’s protectiveness came from affection or from Alpha instincts toward the child.

But when Seunghyuk came close and wrapped him gently in soothing pheromones, Hyunwoo felt the walls he had built weaken without his permission.

Without thinking, he found himself asking:

“Are you… really okay with this?”

“With what?”

“Marrying me again.”

“……”

At the cautious question, Seunghyuk fell quiet.

Hyunwoo stared at his closed lips, anxious.

“…I know you still don’t fully trust me.”

“……”

“I’ll keep doing better.
For you, and for our baby.
I really will.”

He repeated it as if making a vow.

And Hyunwoo could feel—through the imprint—that he wasn’t lying.

“I love you, Hyung.”

“……!”

He said it often these days, but somehow, tonight, the weight of the words felt different.

Looking into those warm brown eyes, Hyunwoo remembered how cold and sharp they had once seemed.

Now, they held a gentleness he had never known.

Maybe this time could really be different.

Maybe they could heal each other, raise a new life together, and build something warm.

Hyunwoo couldn’t deny the hope blooming in his chest.

“Hyung, give me your hand.”

“Why?”

“Just trust me.”

“……?”

Seunghyuk spoke calmly as he pulled something from his pocket.

Hyunwoo held out his hand in confusion.

“This is….”

A ring.

Seunghyuk slid the simple band—set with a real diamond—onto Hyunwoo’s fourth finger.

Hyunwoo’s eyes widened.

“Last time, you prepared everything alone.
So this time, I bought them.
We’ll have the ceremony later but….”

“You… bought this?”

“Yes.”

“Where did you even get the money….”

Hyunwoo muttered, brushing his thumb over the ring.

The design was different from the one they’d worn before regression—less flashy, simpler.

Somehow, it suited Seunghyuk more.

“I can prepare at least this much.”

“Haa… even I just let my secretary handle it last time.”

“Still.
I wanted to be the one to give it to you now.”

“……”

“I’ll put the other one on during the wedding.”

Seunghyuk lifted Hyunwoo’s hand and pressed a kiss on the ring.

Hyunwoo couldn’t help laughing softly.

“Give me yours too.”

“…Really?”

“Yeah.”

Seunghyuk’s eyes widened as if he hadn’t expected that.

Hyunwoo took the remaining ring and slid it onto his finger.

It wasn’t their first time exchanging rings—they had already done it once during their past wedding.

But back then, the room had been filled with cold air and resentment.

Seunghyuk had hated marrying him.

This moment felt nothing like that.

Hyunwoo sensed the painful old memory finally being overwritten.

Now, when he saw a wedding ring, he would remember this warmth instead of that misery.

‘Yeah… that’s enough.’

In the future they would build from here, those old wounds would never return.

New memories would cover the scars of their first marriage.

“Let’s live together again.
Differently this time.”

“Yes.
I love you, Hyung.”

The two of them smiled at each other.

Hyunwoo still couldn’t say “I love you” back—but someday, he felt he would.

In that soft, quiet warmth, they drifted into sleep.

This was the true ending for a man who had returned to rewrite his life.
