Chapter 107: The Kiss That Shouldn’t Happen

So the moment finally came.

Hyunwoo swallowed hard and muttered inwardly.

He had felt uneasy the moment he saw there was only one blanket.

And now he truly had to sleep under the same blanket as Sunghyuk.

Just imagining it was horrifying.

But having that image become reality made his vision blur.

“Why?
Do you think you’ll be uncomfortable?”

“Mm… well, I’m not good at sleeping with someone else.”

“……”

It came out as an excuse, but it wasn’t a complete lie.

He’d slept alone for so long.

And before his regression, he had been married—on paper at least—and lived years without meeting anyone.

A long period of… solitary living.

Because of that, sharing a bed with someone suddenly felt unbearably awkward.

“Then I’ll sleep outside the blanket.”

“What?”

The room was tiny.

Once the blanket was spread out, it filled almost the entire floor.

There was barely enough space left to curl up.
Maybe someone Sunghyuk’s size could squeeze there.

But even then, Hyunwoo couldn’t kick him out to sleep on the bare floor.

Not as the older one.
That would be shameful.

Hyunwoo shook his head firmly.

“No.
I’ll sleep outside.”

“You don’t have to.
I’m fine on the floor.”

“I’m not—”

“……”

“I mean… I’m not fine, but still.
I can’t let you do that.”

“……”

Seeing Sunghyuk’s eyes, Hyunwoo couldn’t lie anymore.
He stumbled over his words instead.

Silence settled between them.

Neither spoke, but both stared at the same object—

the old-fashioned floral blanket.

Their gazes eventually met, equally displeased.

Damn, damn, damn.

Hyunwoo cursed nonstop in his thoughts.

In the end, he had no choice but to accept the situation.

He didn’t have many options, and among those few, he chose the least terrible one.

“Mm…”

“……”

Hyunwoo lay beneath the tacky flower-patterned blanket, staring up at the ceiling.

With the lights off, it was pitch-black.
He couldn’t see anything.

But he kept glaring as if trying to find patterns that weren’t there.

There had been a yellowish stain somewhere, hadn’t there…?

“Mm…”

“……”

Beside him, Sunghyuk turned again.

Whether it was a sleeping habit or what, he kept moving.

Outside, rain still poured violently, but to Hyunwoo, the sound of Sunghyuk’s breathing felt louder.

He felt like he was going insane.

Damn, damn, damn.

Why was the universe doing this to him?

When he had first regressed, he was grateful.
But now he felt like cursing whatever god sent him back.

His life felt more chaotic than before—like divine mischief.

‘Maybe it would’ve been better not to regress.’

He should’ve just died after getting hit by that car.

Instead, he came back… only to end up in this mess.
Sharing one blanket with his ex-husband, stiff as a plank, staring at the ceiling.

“Mm…”

“Hk…!”

On top of that—why was Sunghyuk such a restless sleeper?

He had knocked out the moment his head touched the pillow, which had been a relief—

—but then he started making strange noises and rolling around relentlessly.

At home he was quiet at night.
Silent as a mouse.

Maybe he only moved like this before falling into deeper sleep.

Then Sunghyuk rolled closer.
Much closer.

Hyunwoo gasped softly.

Their shoulders nearly touched, and Sunghyuk twitched slightly.

“……”

“……”

Was he… awake?

Hyunwoo cautiously studied him.

He only heard calm, steady breathing.

After watching anxiously for a while, Hyunwoo quietly sighed in relief.

“Whew…”

At this rate, he wouldn’t sleep at all.

If he didn’t rest, tomorrow would be hell.

Hyunwoo squeezed his eyes shut.

Outside, the rain kept hitting the city relentlessly.
It wouldn’t stop until dawn.

“…Hyung.”

“……!”

A low voice came from beside him.
Sunghyuk’s voice.

But Hyunwoo kept his eyes shut tightly—pretending to sleep.

They had bumped shoulders earlier, probably waking him.
It would’ve been better if he stayed asleep.

If Hyunwoo responded now, things would become even more embarrassing.

“Are you sleeping?”

“……”

Yes.
Sleeping.
Definitely sleeping.

Please stop talking.

He wanted to snap at him but held back.

If he stayed quiet, Sunghyuk would eventually give up and sleep too.

He exhaled slowly.

“Mm…”

“…You really are sleeping.”

He heard rustling beside him.

Sunghyuk was moving under the blanket.
The movements transferred through the bedding, faint but unmistakable.

What was he doing?

Hyunwoo forced himself not to frown, afraid Sunghyuk would realize he was awake.

“……!”

Then he realized what Sunghyuk was doing—

because a hand touched his face.

Hyunwoo almost jerked violently—but barely held still.

A light tap.
He wasn’t pressing, just brushing.

Sunghyuk’s fingers gently lifted Hyunwoo’s bangs.

Then traced down—his forehead, the bridge of his nose, his cheek.

It tickled.

What is he doing?

Hyunwoo had no idea how to interpret this.

Not that he ever fully understood Sunghyuk in the first place.

But touching someone’s sleeping face like this—softly, tenderly—
what was he supposed to think?

Hyunwoo panicked silently.

“……!”

Then Sunghyuk’s fingers touched his lips.

Hyunwoo had to put in real effort not to twitch.

Why the lips?
Why was he touching someone else’s lips?

As he grumbled internally, an uneasy feeling crept in.

Something told him Sunghyuk wouldn’t stop at just touching.

“Hyung, you’re… really sleeping, right?”

“……?”

His low whisper slid into Hyunwoo’s ear.

Hyunwoo felt dread.

Why was he confirming twice?

Something heavier than a hand shifted near him.
Slowly approaching.

Hyunwoo snapped his eyes open.

“Ugh—!”

“Ow…!”

He shoved out instinctively, his hand hitting Sunghyuk’s face.

Sunghyuk jerked back with a pained groan.

“What—what the hell were you doing?”

“Ugh… that hurt…”

“You’re seriously asking that now?”

“……”

Hyunwoo shouted before he could stop himself.

He didn’t want to wake other guests, but he couldn’t hold it in.

His fists shook as he clutched the blanket.

Sunghyuk had been way too close.

A kiss.
Or maybe a peck on the cheek.
Either way, he had definitely been about to kiss him.

Hyunwoo completely gave up on understanding him and raised his hand.

“You—you’re crazy!
Do you know this counts as sexual harassment?”

“Ow—hey, harassment? Really?”

“And you’re an intern!
Trying to kiss your superior?! Really?!”

“…Sorry.”

At the mention of the company, Sunghyuk shrank.

Only then did Hyunwoo stop hitting him.

Even the feeling of hitting him annoyed his pride—he hated that Sunghyuk, another Alpha, didn’t even react like it hurt properly.

He puffed his cheeks angrily.

“If you mess with me again while I’m sleeping, you’re dead.
Got it?”

“…It wasn’t messing around.”

“What?”

“It wasn’t a joke.”

“……”

His confident tone left Hyunwoo speechless.

The nerve of this guy.
Zero remorse.
Zero shame.
He even sounded offended.

Hyunwoo scowled fiercely.

“If it wasn’t a joke, then what was it?”

“……”

Sunghyuk didn’t answer.
He just looked at Hyunwoo—deeply, seriously.

Hyunwoo faltered under that gaze.

“…I want to kiss you when it’s just the two of us like this.”

“Wh—what?
K-kiss?”

“Yes.
Don’t you feel that way, hyung?”

“……!”

Hyunwoo swallowed hard.

His eyes drifted to Sunghyuk’s red lips.

They had had sexual contact before—
but only because of rut.
It had never been intentional.

Even before regression, they had never kissed.

Kissing someone who hated him had been unthinkable—
though he had secretly imagined it once or twice.

But now—after regressing and returning—

the same man who used to despise him
was blushing and telling him
he wanted to kiss him.

Hyunwoo’s throat bobbed as he swallowed again.
