Chapter 25: An Unexpected Admission

After the chaos was settled, Lulu gently patted Alexius’s shoulder. She cast him a glance but remained silent, wishing to avoid any suspicion, and quickly returned to the judges’ panel.

In the subsequent matches, Alexius consistently triumphed, overcoming all obstacles. Only in the final rounds did he intentionally hold back, losing to a 1.5-tier seeded contestant. This was a deliberate move to avoid drawing too much attention. He then feigned exhaustion, concluding his run in the competition.

Nevertheless, Alexius’s ranking and performance scores, combined with his impressive 0.8-tier magic level, were more than sufficient to secure his entry into the elite class.

Standing beside Lulu, Principal Brook watched Alexius. He nodded with immense satisfaction, then turned to Lulu and spoke.

“I had originally planned to transfer you to the regular class to keep an eye on your disciple, should he enroll. But who would have thought this boy would be so promising? It seems Little Xiu was right; a student’s achievements truly depend on their teacher. Wouldn’t you agree, our brilliant sorceress, Miss Lulu?”

“Ah hahaha… You’re, you’re too kind.”

Lulu nodded, a hint of awkwardness clouding her expression. While the Principal was indeed praising her abilities, this wasn’t quite the outcome she had hoped for.

‘I didn’t want that guy to be so talented, ugh…’ she thought.

‘Could it really be a problem with my teaching methods?’ she mused. ‘Or did I teach him too much, making it too useful?’

“However, since Little Xiu is so promising, he’ll definitely be placed in the elite class. You should continue teaching there as well; it’ll be convenient to keep an eye on your Xiu’er.”

“Hmm…” Lulu’s face clouded with a troubled expression upon hearing Principal Brook’s words.

‘Ah… While I wanted Alexius to enroll so I could keep an eye on him, I truly didn’t expect him to get into the elite class!’ she thought.

‘What should I do…’ she fretted. ‘Won’t this kid make things awkward for me in class later? I don’t want to teach him at school too.’

“Um, Principal,” Lulu began, “I wanted to ask, what’s the difference between the regular class and the elite class? Otherwise, perhaps it would be better to arrange Xiu’er for the regular class. I also want to avoid suspicion, given our special relationship.”

Lulu was making her final, desperate struggle.

However, Principal Brook simply waved his hand dismissively, then laughed heartily.

“The difference is huge! You’ve always taught the elite class, so you wouldn’t know! Regular class students don’t have nearly as many resources or courses. The improvement they gain is worlds apart. Outsiders always say that entering the elite class, which gathers our academy’s most essential resources, is like stepping onto the ladder to becoming a high-tier mage! It’s fine; one shouldn’t avoid promoting talent just because they’re family. Little Xiu has this ability; don’t you wish for your disciple to have a bright future?”

“Uh… I see, ah haha… That’s, that’s great.” Lulu nodded awkwardly, then furiously grumbled in her mind.

‘Great my foot!’ she thought. ‘Who wants Alexius to have such a good path? I’d rather he get into some trash class and start a life of slacking off!’

“You’ve taught him well, Lulu, taught him very well!”

Principal Brook nodded contentedly and walked away, laughing heartily. Lulu remained, maintaining a strained smile that soon began to falter.

Just then, several students, already confirmed for the elite class, approached. They hoped to flatter Teacher Lulu, who always taught the elite class, and leave a good impression.

“Teacher Lulu…”

“I’m busy.”

Lulu instantly turned, her expression frigid. The few female students were startled, retreating a couple of steps. Lulu then realized she hadn’t managed her expression well. She lowered her head, shook it slightly, then looked up again.

Though her face remained cool, it was far better than her previous murderous glare. Lulu softly explained to the students.

“Ahem, I apologize. I’m feeling a bit unwell today and wish to go home and rest. Students, there’s no need to rush to greet me now; once school starts in a few days, I’ll naturally get to know all of you.”

‘As expected of the Ice Beauty…’ the students murmured admiringly, then nodded.

“Oh… alright then, Teacher, bye-bye~”

The female students waved, their youthful and adorable smiles instantly lifting Lulu’s spirits.

‘Ah~ beautiful girls truly do mend the heart,’ she mused.

Lulu nodded and walked away indifferently. Before leaving the scene, she turned, signaling to Alexius with her eyes.

‘Follow me quietly, you idiot…’ she thought.

Alexius ran a hand through his hair. ‘Good heavens,’ he thought, ‘if I couldn’t hear her thoughts, I wouldn’t have understood what Lulu meant.’

Alexius quickly followed. After they left the river island, one after the other, Lulu finally relaxed. She turned, seeing Alexius behind her, smirking mischievously.

She felt as if she was being stalked.

‘You detestable perverted Demon King, why are you so strong, argh…’ she fumed. ‘I’m so mad! Ha, you’re quite happy about getting into the elite class, aren’t you? I’ll curse you right here! Pfft, your entry into the elite class brings me less joy than a single strand of hair from a beautiful student! Hmph! Don’t think I’ll be happy!’

Before she could finish her mental tirade, Alexius suddenly took two or three quick steps. He dashed in front of Lulu, then abruptly embraced her. Lulu, wearing high heels, stood even taller than him.

“Teacher~ I got in! And it’s the elite class! You’ll be teaching me! I’m so happy, you must be pleased too, right? Hahaha~”

“Ah…” Lulu felt a surge of embarrassment. ‘This is really rubbing salt in the wound!’ she thought. ‘Who the hell is happy?! Ugh… But, by normal logic, a guardian should indeed be happy when their child gets into school… But don’t hug me, hey!’

“Ahem, it certainly exceeded my expectations. Well done, Xiu’er, but don’t be so excited. First… first let go of your teacher, and then, remain humble.” Lulu shook her head, still quite astonished.

“Mmm~” Alexius showed no intention of letting go. He then declared, “Thanks to the spinning magic you taught me, Teacher, it was incredibly useful! I knew you were always looking out for me! I’ve worked very hard these past few days and finally achieved a good result. Teacher, shouldn’t there be some reward?”

‘Tsk tsk, Alexius, you’re quite the clingy little boy~’ she thought.

‘Reward?!’ she scoffed internally. ‘Good thing you can’t hear my thoughts. I’ve cursed you countless times in my mind, and here you are, rubbing it in. Who would have thought you could use Blade Storm so well! That’s a dumb skill, dumb!’

‘No, I need to find an excuse and really vent my frustrations on Alexius!’ she decided.

Alexius: “…”

“Ahem, let go first!”

Lulu suddenly let out a soft, stern admonition, imbued with the authority of an elder. Alexius reluctantly released his hold. Lulu frowned, then spoke.

“I’m pleased you achieved good results, but hugging me like this… being overly excited is not good! I am your elder; you must show respect and honesty towards elders! You clearly possess 0.8-tier strength, so why did you tell your teacher you only had 0.2-tier?”

“Uh… I…” Alexius looked somewhat awkward.

Lulu angrily waved her hand. A carriage stopped on the road. She pointed to the carriage, then spoke.

“Therefore, not only will there be no reward today, but your teacher will also punish you: you’ll be my chair!”
