Lulu watched as the Little Devil King held her precious Dragon Sword, feeling a pang of dread seize her. After her vision momentarily blurred, the Saintess cleared her throat and slowly approached the Little Devil King.
She spoke, hoping to salvage the situation.
“My disciple, that sword is all rusted; it’s not very good. Let your teacher pick one for you instead.”
‘Quickly, put my Blazing Dragon Sword back! You little devil king!’
Alexius wanted to roll his eyes. However, the sword was indeed excellent, crafted from fine materials. The Little Devil King had secretly attempted to read its information, and the feedback was remarkably positive.
It was, at the very least, a treasure usable up to Tier 5.
“No need, Teacher. My strength is still too weak; I fear I cannot wield such an excellent sword.”
The Little Devil King began to subtly contend with Lulu. The Saintess fell silent for a moment, then quietly moved to the sword rack.
She haphazardly picked out a brightly colored sword and thrust it into the Little Devil King’s arms.
“It’s fine. My disciple must use only the best. Quickly, return that sword to your teacher, ah, listen… listen to me!”
“No, no need, Teacher! I feel this one perfectly suits my affinity.”
The two continued their back-and-forth. Alexius felt a wave of exasperation inwardly.
‘Just let it go, let it go! How could a dignified Saintess begrudge her own disciple a good sword?’
‘Why is this Little Devil King so stubborn? Why does he insist on that particular sword? Yes, it’s incredibly cool when activated, sparking with fire, but right now it just looks like a rusty iron sword. How could he possibly be drawn to it?’
‘Oh? It can burst into flames?’
The Little Devil King abruptly took two steps back, creating distance. He then feigned an accidental stumble, secretly injecting magic into the sword’s core to activate it.
The very next second, roaring flames erupted from the sword, forged from the core of a Blazing Dragon’s magic crystal. The entire blade instantly became wreathed in the offensive effect of demonic flames.
“Woah, this… Teacher, this… I wasn’t careful just now, why did this sword suddenly catch fire?”
“Hiss—”
Lulu’s eyes widened dramatically. She felt a distinct sense of foreboding.
‘What’s going on? Why such a coincidence? Just now, the Little Devil King picked this rusty Blazing Dragon Sword from a pile, and I could still explain it away as shyness, caution, or embarrassment. But this… how did this guy suddenly figure out how to activate the Blazing Dragon Sword?’
‘Or perhaps, my pushing and pulling earlier scared the Little Devil King, causing him to subconsciously inject magic into the weapon? Hiss… no, that’s not right either. One coincidence is possible, but two or three? Can they all be?’
Lulu shook her head, narrowing her eyes slightly. She looked at Alexius with a hint of suspicion.
The Little Devil King immediately felt a sense of dread, cold sweat instantly breaking out.
‘Damn it… I, I got a little too carried away.’
Indeed, with one coincidence after another, it would be difficult not to arouse Lulu’s suspicion. In her previous life, she had been a Saintess who guarded the Holy Church; rising to a high position there meant her mind was anything but simple.
‘What to do… this trouble seems quite significant.’
‘Could it be… he can hear the words I was just muttering in my mind? Does the Little Devil King possess mind-reading magic?’
‘Ah, this.’
Alexius nervously clenched his fists. ‘Her guess is a little too accurate, isn’t it? No, I… I need to be prepared. Next, Lulu will definitely try to test me!’
‘No, I need to test him!’
‘Idiot, stinky dog, newborn, big dummy!’
Lulu tried to observe her disciple’s reaction. ‘Uh… his expression, no change?’
‘No, I need to raise the stakes.’
‘The Little Devil King is my manservant~ The Little Devil King is my dog~ The Little Devil King’s head, like a bouncy ball, kicked all the way to the department store~’
Alexius: ‘…’
‘Endure!’
‘By the way, what’s a department store?’
Lulu glanced at the Little Devil King again. ‘Still no change?’
‘Then there’s no other way; I’ll have to unleash the ultimate humiliation!’
‘Can you even do it~ Skinny dog!’
‘Conquer the world, you say? You struggle just to pass an entrance exam, you useless idiot!’
‘Pfft haha~ Are you angry? Come on, come on, hit me~’
Alexius: ‘Hiss…’
‘Endure!’
Lulu kept her gaze sidelong, intermittently observing the Little Devil King, scrutinizing her disciple’s demeanor and movements. Still, there was no change.
Hmph~
The young woman finally relaxed. ‘It seems I was indeed overthinking things. There’s not a single hint that he can perceive my inner thoughts. Mind-reading abilities truly don’t exist. But it felt so good to insult the Little Devil King~’
However, regarding that Blazing Dragon Sword, uh… he, he had already seen it erupt in flames. Lulu found it rather awkward to now claim it was a mere trash sword.
Lulu nodded, then spoke.
“Alright then, this sword is called the Blazing Dragon Sword. Hmm… while it’s certainly considered ordinary among my collection, it seems to have a good affinity with you. Just take it. Let’s head to the training grounds.”
“Phew~”
The Little Devil King nodded, finally letting out a breath of relief. ‘Scared… I was truly scared.’

After preparing themselves, the two arrived at the training grounds. Lulu had reserved a training room. Upon entering, the Little Devil King gazed around with curiosity.
The training room consisted of two chambers: a combat arena and an operation room. The training involved battling various magical summons.
Depending on the desired training content, different types of magical creatures could be summoned from the operation room into the combat arena. The trainee would then practice by fighting these creatures within the combat arena.
Lulu planned to go to the operation room shortly to observe the novice Little Devil King battling the summoned creatures. ‘Hmm~ The thought of it is quite exciting.’
However, before they began, Lulu still needed to teach the Little Devil King a few moves.
“Teacher, are there any magic skills that complement swordsmanship particularly well? Could you teach me some?”
The Little Devil King tilted his head as he spoke to Lulu. Lulu hesitated for a moment, then stroked her chin.
‘If we’re talking about *that*!’
‘As expected, that particular move is perfect for tricking the Little Devil King!’
‘Hehehe, the Spinning Magic! After a brief incantation, it enhances one’s rotational force and resistance to dizziness. Then, by spinning rapidly, it forms a blade-like vortex, delivering high-intensity attacks to enemies while also creating a defensive wall of blades that’s difficult to approach in close combat. Sounds impressive, right?’
‘But in reality, spinning reduces one’s movement speed and flexibility. Unless already in close quarters and the enemy can’t dodge, using this move makes one incredibly susceptible to being kited. Once kited, one easily becomes a living target for ranged attacks. It’s truly a glass cannon type of skill!’
‘There’s absolutely no risk in teaching the Spinning Magic to the Little Devil King; he’s bound to mess it up~ Spin, Little Devil King, haha!’
Lulu, brimming with confidence, began to explain the key points to the Little Devil King. The Little Devil King listened intently, nodding his head.
Soon after, he was ready to begin his training.
Lulu, utterly satisfied, entered the operation room and pressed the button!
