Chapter 35: A Sneaky Surprise and a Goblin Revolution

[Demonic Corruption Factor, unlocked 15% (+10%)]

What a pleasant surprise! Back in the classroom, the Little Demon King, Alexius, had just tucked the socks from his pocket into his backpack when he saw the delightful notification.

It seemed that Teacher Lulu had been quite startled earlier.

Pfft. Having heard her thoughts, the Little Demon King felt increasingly delighted. Really, that woman was something else; since she was going home anyway that night, what did it matter who held the socks?

It was almost as if she was afraid of not being discovered.

“Hey, Alexius, what’s that thing you’re holding? So sneaky… Don’t tell me you stole something?”

The Little Demon King frowned, hearing a sharp, reedy voice. He felt a sudden wave of irritation. Turning his head, he addressed Claire Swin.

“What does that have to do with you, Young Master? Oh… no, it might actually have something to do with you. Pfft… I’m afraid your composure would shatter if you saw it, so let’s just forget about it.”

“You…!”

Claire Swin frowned upon hearing this. Firstly, he was utterly displeased with the Little Demon King’s tone. Secondly, what exactly did this guy mean? What *was* that thing?

“Let me see what’s in your hand, you common thief! I won’t let you off!”

As Claire Swin spoke, he rolled up his sleeves, ready to snatch the Little Demon King’s backpack. Alexius quickly dodged. Good heavens, this item absolutely could not fall into anyone else’s hands.

Teacher Lulu’s lifelong reputation was at stake!

The two argued, but Claire Swin was clearly at a disadvantage. After a moment, a soft, girlish voice suddenly interrupted them.

“Claire! Stop it. You… since you already made a bet with him, don’t go looking for more trouble.”

Both of them stopped their actions and turned to look. Standing there was a girl with long, straight black hair. Ah… the Little Demon King actually hadn’t remembered the names of the other students in the class. However, Claire Swin seemed somewhat wary of this girl, awkwardly nodding his head. He then turned back to glare at the Little Demon King, fuming.

“Just you wait.”

“Tsk… She’s actually quite right. The wager has already been set. You keep bothering me so frequently; are you perhaps afraid you won’t be able to win?”

The Little Demon King scoffed, shrugging his shoulders. He then added, “Actually, I’m already First Tier, just so you know.”

“Wh-what?” Claire Swin turned back in surprise, then asked, trying to suppress his panic, “You? First Tier… How is that possible?! It’s only been a few days since school started?!”

“Hmm… you don’t have to believe me.”

The Little Demon King smiled and shook his head. Claire Swin’s face contorted before he turned and quickly walked away.

Today marked the… Glynn, the greatest transmigrator in history, Great Commander of the Demon Lord’s Army, and Reincarnated Demon Lord, had already forgotten how many days it had been since he arrived in this new world.

After arriving in this other world, he had gradually lost track of dates and days of the week. However, this didn’t bother him. Following the Goblin King to the goblin stronghold, the sight that greeted him profoundly shocked this transmigrated otaku.

Oh my god… so many goblin soldiers! Glynn nodded in satisfaction, then turned to his most loyal subordinate, the Goblin King, and asked.

“Tell me, little brother, what’s the strength of our Demon Lord’s Army like?”

Little… little brother?

The Goblin King had never been addressed in such a manner. He gave an awkward laugh, not daring to defy the Demon Lord. So, he replied.

“This is merely a small portion of your Demon Lord’s Army, my Lord. These are your most loyal goblin warriors.”

“Hmm… so what do the goblins usually do?”

Glynn inquired. The Goblin King’s answer was blunt and direct.

“Murder, arson, plundering resources, and capturing women.”

“Cough…”

Glynn nearly choked on his own saliva. After a moment, he looked with a speechless expression at the group of goblins sleeping in the lair before him. He then noticed… a few human corpses subtly arranged in the corner.

“This… what’s the point of this?”

“Hmm… because goblins have no females, they must rely on females from other races to help them reproduce.”

The Goblin King spoke as if stating a perfectly normal fact. Glynn frowned. This… this really was like a setting straight out of an erotic RPG game.

Truly befitting an evil Demon Lord’s Army.

“But seriously, your goblin warriors are so impoverished, none of them even have complete armor or weapons. What’s the use of having such a large population then? Holed up in this lair, doing nothing but fighting or slacking off. *Sigh*.”

Glynn shook his head, expressing his dissatisfaction with the goblin army’s current model. The Goblin King was startled, then inquired.

“Then… what is your Lordship’s meaning?”

“Innovation! We must innovate!”

The “Demon Lord” shook his head, declaring, “Such a backward goblin army must be reformed! How can they act like mere bandits every day? It’s too feudal! Work! All goblins must work!”

“Ah?” The Goblin King was stunned. Work… work?

“Precisely! Make these goblin soldiers farm, mine, and hunt! In short, no freeloaders! Everyone must create value for me!”

“B-b-but… we could also be self-sufficient by raiding,” the Goblin King stammered, growing a little nervous.

“No! If we do that, I’ll… ah, no, that is, ‘sustaining war with war’ isn’t a long-term strategy. Only by having production in our own hands will the Demon Lord’s Army have the capital to conquer the world. Do you understand this?”

Glynn analyzed the situation. The Goblin King fell silent for a moment, feeling… that it actually made some sense.

“Furthermore, we need to set up overseers, number all the goblins, establish a reward and punishment system, and implement an up-or-out system. Those eliminated will be transferred as talent to other Demon Lord’s armies! All goblins will only keep a small portion of their wages; the rest will be dedicated to the great cause of the Demon Lord’s Army!”

Glynn continued to analyze based on his own experience. The Goblin King listened, dumbfounded. After a moment, he finally posed his question.

“Then… will the previous task of capturing women still be carried out?”

“Such things are too inhumane, aren’t they? Tsk tsk, this world is far too savage and violent. It’s time to bring you a little… ‘Earth shock’…! Keep capturing them! But not just women; men must be captured too! And once they’re captured, don’t even *think* about any lewd thoughts! How much it affects work efficiency! Drag them all to work! Every human and goblin, a minimum of 16 hours of work per day!”

Huh?

The Goblin King stared blankly at this new Demon Lord, then fell into silence. So, why did the Demon Lord’s Army need to concern itself with humanity?

And…

Are you sure working sixteen hours a day is humane?

Hmm?

Regardless of the Goblin King’s reaction, or the goblin army’s, who were currently unaware of the kind of days they were about to face, Glynn, on the other hand, was quite pleased.

Oh my goodness, the difficulty of this other world was simply too low, wasn’t it? Haha, he could already see countless riches beckoning to him!

****

Later that night, Lulu, clutching a book titled ‘The Art of Wealth Creation,’ leaned against her headboard. She was deep in thought, pondering how to become the richest person in this other world, when she suddenly sneezed.

‘Was this… the heavens hinting that I shouldn’t bother? That I’d never learn?’
