Chapter 49: The Blood of Creation

Before Jiang Xiaoyu could reply, the four elders gathered their strength simultaneously atop the grand hall, various colored auras condensing frantically in their palms and along their sword blades, their sharp edges pointing straight toward the Spirit-Taming Sect’s grand protective array.

Blood Moon frowned slightly, grabbing at the void with one hand. The four figures flickered in unison, tumbling down onto the grand hall in the next instant.

Blood Moon asked with a smile, “Was it fun?”

Everyone stared at one another blankly.

Suppressing the shock in his heart, Ye Lingtian asked in a deep voice, “Divine arts are indeed unfathomable; my immortal lineage has not lost unjustly. Practitioner of the divine, we ask for little—as long as you are willing to leave our Yue’er’s body, we will let bygones be bygones regarding what just happened! If not, we will burn to ashes together without a shred of regret.”

Blood Moon chuckled evilly: “You want me to leave? It looks like what Jiaoyue said just now went in one ear and out the other; not a single word of it did you understand.”

Leng Feng pointed his sword blade forward: “Cut the crap! I’ll just ask you… are you leaving? Or not?”

As the words fell, the atmosphere in the grand hall grew tense once more.

“Tsk… what a big mouth, daring to threaten me! It seems the Withered Death of the Dead didn’t make you taste enough suffering! Very well, let you witness the Blood Moon’s second kill—The Whisper of the Undead. I hope you still have such bravado when you get there.”

With that, Blood Moon waved her slender hand, and a gray aura generated from the sixth tier of the moon stairs materialized out of thin air, washing down to envelop the four of them.

Right at that moment, her hand was suddenly grabbed.

Blood Moon was shocked, snapping her head up to look at the person before her, then stupidly back at the twelve tiers of the moon stairs: “Who, who, who are you? Why can you ignore the twelve tiers of the moon stairs?”

Jiang Xiaoyu pulled her in front of him, lowering his voice: “Cut the crap, who else could it be! I’m your fiancé. I’ve figured it out—you adults are all playing along, but when it comes to playing… there has to be a limit. Don’t you even know what urgent issue you need to resolve right now?”

Blood Moon’s head was full of question marks: “…… What?”

Jiang Xiaoyu glanced back at the four dumbfounded elders behind him, lowering his voice: “These adults are all unreliable. Come on, I’ll take you to the restroom.”

A blush spread rapidly across Blood Moon’s face: “You, you… what nonsense are you spouting! I am the Earth Phase of the Moon Goddess—Blood Moon, how dare you blaspheme me!”

Before the words faded, she pointed her left hand toward the fifth tier of the moon stairs and shouted sharply: “Withered Death of the Dead, go!”

A black aura soared into the sky, descending headfirst upon Jiang Xiaoyu.

Yet the moment that black aura touched Jiang Xiaoyu’s body, it vanished like a clay ox entering the sea, disappearing in a flash.

Blood Moon froze: “It’s… it’s gone?”

Jiang Xiaoyu understood instantly: “Gone? That’s just being too backed up; once you go, you’ll be fine. Be a good girl, Jiaoyue, let’s go there and back quickly, we still have to eat later—to be reasonable, I’m starving…”

Blood Moon’s mouth twitched violently, giving him no chance to finish. Raising a hand to summon the sixth tier of the moon stairs, she pointed fiercely at the scoundrel before her: “Whisper of the Undead, kill!”

The gray aura carried the sound of wailing ghosts as it lunged straight at Jiang Xiaoyu.

Seeing this, the four elders stepped forward in unison, shouting in alarm: “Huan’er, watch out!”

Jiang Xiaoyu was startled: “Watch out for… what?”

The moment the words left his mouth, the gray aura sank into his body, acting once again like a clay ox in the sea, leaving not a single ripple behind.

“Ah?! How can this be!”

“Don’t yell, this is called neural desensitization.”

Blood Moon was completely bewildered: “What’s neural desensitization?”

Jiang Xiaoyu chuckled: “You’re asking the right person. Back when I played games, I ran into plenty of bladders-full matches, so I specifically asked Doubao about it.”

Persistently holding in urine causes the bladder to undergo a temporary neural desensitization, much like gripping something tightly in your hand—if you hold it long enough, it goes numb. At that point, the nervous system knows you’re indisposed and stops constantly sending urination signals to the bladder, making the urge temporarily vanish.

Jiang Xiaoyu smiled mysteriously and told Blood Moon: “However… please remember this transition word, however… once we actually reach the restroom, we’ll realize the bladder was about to burst.”

Blood Moon didn’t quite understand, but it didn’t stop her from flying into a rage. Gritting her teeth, she angrily pointed toward the seventh and eighth tiers of the twelve moon stairs: “Blood Resonance! Blood Moon Decree! Attack together and kill this shameless wretch!”

As the words fell, one crimson and one dark-red aura surged into Jiang Xiaoyu’s body simultaneously.

Once more, like a clay ox entering the sea!

Blood Moon stared dumbfounded at Jiang Xiaoyu, suddenly remembering something: “Right, I forgot, Blood Resonance and Blood Moon Decree require the enemy to have an open wound first! Oww—I’ll bite you to death!”

She sank her teeth straight into Jiang Xiaoyu’s left arm.

Jiang Xiaoyu was startled at first, then started hopping and struggling on the spot: “Ouch, my dear mother, Jiaoyue is biting me!”

Blood Moon wouldn’t let go, mumbling incoherently: “Bite you to death, bite you to death… Blood Resonance, Blood Moon Decree, kill him!”

The words faded, yet absolutely nothing happened, leaving her standing frozen in place.

The next second, her body stiffened abruptly.

“This power in his blood… this power is the Power of Creation!”

She slowly raised her head, Jiang Xiaoyu’s blood still lingering at the corners of her mouth as tears rolled down drop by drop.

“Is it… hus… band?”

Seeing that she had finally let go, Jiang Xiaoyu didn’t dare cross this mental patient any further. Wincing in pain, he went along with the flow: “Outrageous! Knowing I’m your husband, you still dared to sink your venomous teeth into me!”

Blood Moon stared blankly at Jiang Xiaoyu.

Jiang Xiaoyu felt somewhat uncomfortable under her stunning gaze, subconsciously softening his tone: “Just playing around, didn’t really mean to scold you. Since you’re my wife, bite away if you want…”

At that moment, Blood Moon slowly wrapped her arms around Jiang Xiaoyu’s neck, closed her eyelids, and slowly leaned her crimson lips forward.

Before Jiang Xiaoyu could react, two burning-hot lips pressed against his own.

In the Divine Realm continent, rules of etiquette outweighed the heavens. Neither Ye Lingtian nor Leng Feng had ever witnessed such bold, uninhibited public affection, prompting them to clear their throats in unison and look away.

“They… they are too sudden…”

In contrast, Lady Wang watched with great relish, unable to stop marveling aloud about how unpredictable and fast-changing the ways of the world were, though her underlying joy was impossible to conceal.

Madam Zhao was not happy with this development; her daughter was still an unmarried maiden, how could she let a brat take such liberties in broad daylight? She immediately moved to step forward and pull the two apart.

Lady Wang hurriedly grabbed her arm: “Sister, where are you going?”

“Where am I going? I’m going to beat that little punk to death!”

“Sister, all eighty-eight sets of betrothal gifts have been prepared—gold, silver, silks, farmlands, and spiritual stones, every single thing is complete. The moment the auspicious day arrives, we’ll deliver them personally to Lengyue Palace, and we certainly won’t wrong Jiaoyue.”

“I want to see the physical goods!”

“No problem, they’re right behind the grand hall. Once we finish watching the young couple’s flirtations, the two of us sisters can go shop through them in detail.”

“Deal, it’s a promise!”

“A promise!”
