Chapter 31: Marriage Blue (11)

Sena’s blue eyes clouded slightly.

At this point, she was not even curious about how Adrian knew that fact.

Those words became a catalyst, taking Sena back into an old memory.

It was about seven years ago from now.

Back then, Adrian received the media’s spotlight almost for the first time.

A young man walking in the rain with an expressionless face like a wax doll, holding the urns of his comrades.

There were countless funerals, but that single photograph was chosen by the Federal Government, and soon decorated the front page of the most authoritative central daily newspaper, The Morning of Rats.

The tragic war hero.

The avenger of Gray County.

The person who received the Medal of Honor while still alive.

Besides those, various nicknames hung thick like stockings on a Christmas tree, but the nicknames still talked about even now after Adrian’s discharge could be summarized into those three.

Thinking back on it now, the Federal Government had undoubtedly promoted it strategically to avoid responsibility for the victory that was nothing but wounds after the war ended.

Roughly as the media reported the young hero’s military exploits like that, the public, who were trembling with anxiety at the time, were easily swept away.

People cheered Adrian Blake’s name day after day, and chased him as if following the every move of a grand sports star or celebrity.

Soon, the craze over ‘Sir Adrian’ spread like a trend.

People used Adrian to escape from the harsh reality.

Sena was no exception.

“It is true that I personally gained comfort from you back then.”

Sena sighed softly and placed her hand on Adrian’s chest.

Then she pushed him away gently.

The rapid heartbeat thumping under her hand was none of her business.

“However, I liked Sir Adrian, the hero promoted by the Federation. Not Adrian Blake who threatens me.”

Looking back now, Sir Adrian, whom she loved and cherished, was an exquisite illusion created by the collaboration of the Federal Government and the media.

At that time, freshman Selena, who had just become an adult, did not take issue with that.

However, twenty-six-year-old reporter Sena, who had been through all kinds of hardships, could list what was so different for three days and three nights.

Including the fact that it was wrong.

“Sena, so you…… grew to dislike me?”

Humid moisture flickered in his gray eyes.

To say she disliked him was almost laughable.

Sena thought so, but spoke rather nonchalantly.

“Do you know how annoying it is when you try to get your way with tears?”

To be more precise, it was abominable.

A man who spread terror across the front lines regardless of friend or foe gets cowed by a trivial retort like this?

She would rather believe the Federal Government’s approval rating reported by The Oscar Tribune.

For the record, the government’s approval rating was drawing an upward curve no matter what happened.

When Sena removed her hand from him, Adrian quickly grabbed her slender wrist.

With eyes whose moisture had vanished cleanly before she knew it.

“Didn’t you say my crying face was the prettiest?”

“Who on earth said that? Sir Adrian, do you have an imaginary friend?”

“That cannot be, Sena. There is only one of you.”

“Then why…… ha, forget it.”

Sena stopped talking and shook off his arm in disgust.

“Sena.”

Because of those gray eyes shaking as if he was slightly, just a tiny bit hurt, when she thought he was just brazen.

A feeling that was too heavy to be called disappointment, and too light to be called frustration, arose.

She did not want to believe that this emotion, which she kept feeling ever since that shocking public confession of his, was disillusionment.

Because that word meant she held a sliver of expectation for him.

“Sena?”

Sena turned away from his gray eyes, which were trembling like ripples, and entered the room.

What she needed right now was not a trivial conversation, but rest.

As she collapsed onto the edge of the bed, deferred fatigue washed over her.

Sena yawned softly and looked back toward the doorway.

“When are we moving to the next safe house?”

“I am sorry, but you will have to stay here until tonight. We need to check if other places are safe.”

There was no way Adrian here would go to check, so inspecting safety would be the job of other investigators.

Sena let out an indecipherable groan and ruffled her hair.

At the very least, it seemed the Special Bureau was treating their marriage as an established fact.

Thinking of the investigators who must have been working overtime for days, she wondered what kind of nuisance this was, but then felt like whatever, who cares.

It wasn’t as if she caused it.

Sena raised one hand to stop the culprit walking toward the bed.

“Just to let you know in advance, I am using the bed. You use the sofa or…… why are you acting like that?”

Adrian, who stopped in his tracks in an awkward posture, blinked his eyes and then smiled softly.

“Just, because I like it.”

“……?”

Sena tilted her head, silently demanding an explanation, but Adrian seemed to have no intention of answering.

Instead of continuing her questioning, she laid her body down on the bed.

It was hard to ignore Adrian’s presence about six steps away, but soon sleepiness rushed in to the point of erasing even such thoughts.

“Sena, as for the meal……”

“I’m fine.”

I won’t die from skipping a day.

She wasn’t sure if she actually answered like that or not.

Perhaps because she couldn’t sleep properly last night, a deep, dreamless sleep came over her.

“Ugh, ah…… Sena.”

Sena opened her eyes after just a few hours.

It was dawn, with faint moonlight shining through the window.

As the noise grating on her ears subsided and she lay alone on the wide bed, she fell into the illusion of being alone in the world.

Her mind, which had been frozen, slowly began to function.

This was Adrian’s mansion, and she was sharing a room with him after being attacked.

And not long after, she woke up from her sleep.

Without a doubt, it was due to insomnia.

Languid from the lingering sleepiness, she hugged the blanket tightly and quietly enjoyed the tranquility of the night.

“Hah……”

However, such a dreamy feeling quickly subsided.

A wet, moisture-laden voice disturbed her ears.

“Sena, ah……”

In an instant, Sena snapped awake, her eyes wide open, and let out a sigh.

Just a few seconds ago, over the blue moonlight she had thought was dreamy, the shadow of an adult male flickered.

It belonged to Adrian, who was stretched out long on the sofa by the window.

And of course, there was only one thing a healthy, robust man would do late at night without sleeping.

That was…… self-gratification.

“Haaam.”

Since Sena had absolutely no desire to watch a man being pathetically aroused, she yawned as naturally as possible and lay back facing away from the sofa.

Instantly, all noise stopped.

No way, did I get caught?

A spot on her back prickled.

Just as if Adrian were staring at her.

A strand of cold sweat ran down Sena’s rounded forehead.

However, just around the time even that cold sweat was cooled by the wind, the lewd sounds began once more.

Schlick.

Phew. She let out a sigh of relief as the noise resumed.

However, if there was one thing she had overlooked, it was that she had a vivid imagination.

“Hng, ah…… Sena, ah, haa……”

A voice drenched in moisture could be heard.

Once her field of vision was blocked, she had no choice but to listen completely to the sounds of Adrian soothing himself.

Sena lamented inwardly and curled her body up even smaller.

Her terrible imagination was vividly conjuring up the things happening less than two meters away.

Splash.

First, a cheerful wet sound was heard.

Adrian Blake would probably have his fair face flushed red, gripping his lower half.

Sena offered her condolences to his followers in her heart.

The ‘Sir Adrian who is clean without a single rumor’ praised by them seemed to have passed away right here, on this spot.

Even while Sena was having absurd thoughts with a mind half-bleached white, Adrian’s dreadful hand play continued.

“Sena, ugh, Sena……”

The sound resembling a child splashing in water soon turned into a sticky, secret noise.

At the same time, the image of Adrian groaning with his lower half erect was drawn vividly in Sena’s head as well.

His leather gloves would be messily soaked in sticky fluid, and inside his long-stretched hand, a pale cherry-blossom-colored stake, contrasting with the black, would be standing beautifully.

“Haah, ugh…… ugh.”

The continuous groans fueled her delusions.

Damn it.

Sena completely forgot that Adrian was behind her and curled her body like a shrimp.

It was obvious that acting like this would look suspicious, but the situation with her lower body was far more urgent.

Deep between her legs was itching.

No, there was no way it should be like this.

Unable to hide her embarrassment, Sena wrapped her arms around her body.
