Chapter 26: Marriage Blue (6)

“…Adr—ugh—Adrian?”

Because of her body violently shaking, her voice bounced back and forth.

Sena, who had not yet completely woken from her dream, called Adrian with a hazy face.

At that moment, his expressionless face brightened noticeably.

His eyes and cheeks turned a very faint shade of red, and his sharp eyes curved softly.

“Yes, Sena.”

It was a stark, clear change, like the cold melting away and cherry blossoms bursting into bloom.

However, Sena had no presence of mind to be amazed.

“What on earth… ah, are you doing… right now?”

Feeling a strange presence down below, she looked down—and sure enough, Adrian was burying his length inside her.

He nonchalantly whispered with a calm face.

“It’s s*x. In other words, mating. A reproductive activity that humans enjoy doing…”

“Please, just… shut up.”

He closed his mouth, but that didn’t mean he stopped what he was doing.

If anything, he seemed to have turned up the intensity.

The sensation of a foreign object below soon transformed into pleasure.

It poked in softly at first, but then began scraping against a specific spot of her inner walls.

It was precisely Sena’s weak point.

Sleep had already completely vanished.

While she had been having that crude dream, her body had faithfully finished preparing to accept him.

The sheet beneath her hips was beyond damp; it was soaked through.

Squelch, squelch.

Every time Adrian thrust his hips, a wet, slick sound echoed from down below.

Sena grabbed his arm and pleaded.

“Ah-ngh, ugh, stop… please stop.”

It was a joy that was too overwhelming to handle.

Pleasure surged ceaselessly inside her head, as if someone were setting off fireworks.

It felt like her brain would melt away at any moment.

“This, this is too…”

“Yes, Sena. Just a moment.”

Adrian answered insincerely.

His tone was gentle, but his actions were anything but.

First, he grabbed the waist of Sena, who was stealthily slipping away to the side, and buried his length inside her once more.

Even after doing so, a finger-joint’s length of his manhood still remained exposed outside.

“Hah…”

Adrian let out a languid groan and stroked down their point of connection.

As soon as the dark red entrance twitched and tightened around him, white froth began to foam.

He watched it with a flushed face, like a boy having his very first kiss.

Once his hip movements finally stopped, Sena managed to catch her breath while clutching the bedsheet.

She didn’t forget to sneer at Adrian.

“My, you certainly listened to my words quickly.”

The warm, milky liquid not only filled her lower abdomen to the brim but also ran down between her legs.

reached a point of near suffocation as the entire room filled with the fishy smell of raw passion.

Even amidst all this, as if lingering regret still remained, Adrian pushed what was running down her legs back inside.

“Does it feel good to jump a sleeping person?”

Completely exhausted from having gone through a round right upon waking, she didn’t even have the strength to restrain Adrian.

However, Sena Han’s weapon was not physical strength, but her tongue.

“I take it you didn’t have the confidence to do it while I was awake?”

Despicably.

Sena mocked him fiercely, with a force equal to the lingering intensity remaining in her body.

Yet Adrian’s face showed no sign of being hurt or affected in the slightest.

“I’m sorry, but Sena, you called me first.”

“Me? No way.”

She wouldn’t have done that if she were in her right mind.

Sena shook her head and sat up from the bed.

Her arms and legs trembled, and her skin was covered with handprints and hickeys left by Adrian, stained a peak pink color.

How on earth was she supposed to hide this?

Sena felt dizzy and reached up to hold her forehead, only to realize that the only person who would see her anyway was Adrian himself.

“Get up, Blake.”

No matter how many times she kicked him, Adrian kept his arms wrapped around her waist.

However, the moment Sena completely pulled her body out of the bed, he slowly released the restraint of his arms.

Sena immediately entered interrogation mode.

“Why are you here? You said you had a separate room.”

“Because you were having a nightmare, Sena.”

“That has nothing to do with you.”

“No, it has everything to do with me.”

Adrian spoke in a firm tone.

Clearly, he shouldn’t have known whether she had been dreaming, or what the dream was about if she had, yet his tone was unusually decisive.

“Your fit was growing increasingly severe, so I used the sedative I had on hand as an emergency measure. So, out of necessity, I gave Sena…”

She felt like she didn’t need a detailed explanation to know how he had administered that sedative.

And she also came to realize, without wanting to, why they had kissed in her dream.

Sena cut Adrian off and probed further.

“How did you know I had insomnia?”

“It is common for survivors of major accidents to suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Above all, people who are deficient in some way tend to recognize each other easily.”

It was surprising that Adrian Blake knew about her past, but what was even more shocking was the latter part.

Sena’s mouth opened slightly.

“Nonsense… You have trauma too?”

“Is that really something to be so surprised about?”

“But you’re Adrian Blake!”

In all of Lord Adrian’s past history that Sena had diligently researched, there was never any mention of trauma.

If the Special Bureau had fabricated Adrian’s past for propaganda purposes, it was only natural that such details were missing.

Above all, prior to any of that, Sena also trusted him as a fellow citizen of the Federation.

That trust existed on a completely different tier from her disliking Adrian Blake or feeling skeptical toward the system of the Federation.

For a citizen of the Federation, Lord Adrian was not just an individual person, but no different than a monument of victory itself.

“You say that as well. ‘There’s no way Adrian Blake would be like that.’”

The corners of Adrian’s lips turned downward.

“No matter how much it seems otherwise, I do possess a human heart.”

“You talk as if you’re not human.”

“Because if Sena thinks I am human, I am human, and if you think I am not human, I am not.”

“Stop playing word games with me.”

Sena glared at Adrian.

What kind of nonsense was this—he wasn’t Schrödinger’s Adrian Blake.

She was slowly heating up due to Adrian’s response, which lacked even a tiny speck of seriousness.

The fact that he had once again wrapped his arms around her waist played a part in her rising temper as well.

Using her index finger and thumb as if picking up trash, she yanked Adrian’s ear.

“Since it’s the beginning of the year, you must be extremely busy, so stop idling around here and get lost back to the Special Bureau.”

“I’m sorry, but I can’t go outside for the time being either.”

“No, why? Even if it’s dangerous for me, it shouldn’t matter for you, right?”

“Special Bureau Investigation Guidelines, Chapter 4.”

At the words Adrian casually dropped, Sena immediately realized the truth.

She held her forehead and let out a groan.

“…It’s because of the Conduct Unbecoming clause, isn’t it?”

Just as Special Bureau investigators were granted extensive authority, they were also bound by many obligations.

Among them, the Conduct Unbecoming clause was famous enough that even civilians knew of it.

Yet, an investigator who was practically the face of the Special Bureau had gone and made a personal romantic confession during a press conference meant for reporting official achievements.

It was a major accident.

Even if wrapped up in the best light possible, he was at best a romanticist who couldn’t separate public and private matters.

The Special Bureau was probably nursing quite a headache right now, not knowing how to handle Adrian.

“I have been placed on standby. They told me to reflect at home for the time being.”

Sena wore a dismal expression, looking as if she were the one who had been punished instead of Adrian.

“Is that… really a punishment for you, or a reward?”

“It feels like I’m getting a vacation for the first time in twenty-nine years.”

Her pride was slightly wounded, but hearing his joke made Sena let out a sudden chuckle.

According to the personal data provided by the Special Bureau, Adrian Blake was twenty-nine years old this year.

Just how relentlessly had the Special Bureau run him ragged for him to say that being suspended from his post was his very first vacation in life?

As a fellow working adult, Sena couldn’t help but feel a tiny speck of sympathy for Adrian.

“Aren’t you even regretful?”

“Not at all.”

“Still, if you’re on standby, your promotion is out the window. Maybe you could even be expelled from the Special Bureau.”

The investigators Sena had met so far hated being expelled more than death itself.

Some investigators even went around bragging that they would rather be tortured by a villain than expelled from the Special Bureau.

Because being expelled meant not only being branded as a fugitive, traitor, and coward, but also having one’s memories tampered with to preserve confidentiality.

If one was expelled early in their service, it was relatively better.

However, if one was expelled after long years of service, there would inevitably be far more fabricated memories than intact ones.

They lived under the surveillance of the Special Bureau, practically reduced to idiots.

And Adrian was one of the few long-term veterans even within the Special Bureau.

“The Special Bureau will probably find a case in short order and reinstate me. Besides, promotions were blocked for me from the very beginning anyway.”

Adrian spoke nonchalantly, and then stealthily applied force to the arm wrapped around Sena’s waist.

“So, even if it’s just for the time being, please stay by my side.”
