The girl’s desperate cry filled the entire classroom.
She was seated right in front of Lu Renjia, who had been dozing off.
“Huh?”
Startled awake by the commotion, Lu Renjia looked around at the crowd gathered around the desks.
He remembered… wasn’t the college entrance exam over?
He scanned the onlookers, who wore smug, detached expressions as if enjoying a show.
Of course, he didn’t think his sleeping posture had drawn this crowd.
So the main character of this spectacle must be the girl in front of him.
Lu Renjia quickly zeroed in on the key players.
“Bai Luomeng, you play the innocent pretty well, don’t you? Since when is Young Master Murong someone you can try to seduce?”
The aggressor lifted her immaculately made-up face, her bright lipstick like blood fresh from a demon’s lips, as she spat out venomous insults.
“Look at yourself. What are you? Next time I’ll tear that cheap necklace right off your neck!”
Her words were filled with threat and contempt.
The girl, whose clothes had been yanked askew, clutched her necklace with tear-filled eyes, saying nothing.
She huddled in the corner, trying to cover the torn fabric, but the faint glimpse of collarbone drew leering, greedy looks like hyenas.
Her fair skin and innocent face were like a banana plant beaten by wind and rain.
Pitiful and utterly broken.
Lu Renjia, however, wasn’t focused on the girl’s exposed charms. His attention was on the black-hooded figure who had been standing beside him since he woke up.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Lu Renjia asked the strange person who had appeared on campus. Just moments ago, she had snapped her fingers and everything around them had frozen.
“What do you feel seeing this?” The black-clothed person didn’t answer, instead asking a question.
“I feel sorry for that pretty girl,” Lu Renjia sighed with a helpless expression. “But there’s not much I can do. For bullying like this, the best option is to get the teachers involved.”
“Ha.” The woman let out a scornful laugh.
“So what’s going on with me?” Lu Renjia could sense her displeasure and knew his answer hadn’t pleased her, but he still wanted to understand the situation.
“Simple. You’ve transmigrated,” she said flatly, leaving him unsure of her thoughts.
Like every transmigrator, Lu Renjia asked the obvious question.
“How do I get back?”
“By saving them!”
“What? No way!”
The moment he heard about such a complicated main quest, Lu Renjia wanted to give up.
Seriously, I just finished the college entrance exam! I haven’t even enjoyed my summer vacation. You want me to do high school all over again?
Even a dog wouldn’t do that!
“It’s not as hard as you think,” the woman said without a ripple. “You just need to find five girls and help them let go of their aversion to men.”
“No way!” Lu Renjia said bluntly. “I’m just an ordinary kid who just finished his exams. I don’t have the ability to shoulder other people’s lives.”
“And besides,” he paused, “I’ve never even been in love. How can I possibly save other girls?”
When the woman heard he’d never been in love, her lips, which had been motionless until then, curved into a stunning smile.
“That’s fine.”
Her mood seemed to lighten, and her voice grew less heavy.
“You just need to do your best. It won’t take too long.”
“How long?”
“At most ten years!”
“Too long!” Lu Renjia protested. “You’d better find someone else. I have neither good looks nor amazing talent, let alone patience.”
“No!” she said, suddenly agitated. “It has to be you! That person must be you!”
“Hey, calm down…” Lu Renjia was startled by her frantic demeanour.
“Don’t worry, I know what you’re afraid of,” she said, now composed. “Time back home will remain unchanged. Just think of it as a dream.”
“…Alright.”
Lu Renjia could see she was determined not to let him go back, but since he could return and his vacation would be waiting, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Is there a reward?”
“Hmph! You never take a loss, do you?” she shot back, annoyed by his persistent, shameless bargaining.
“I’ll give you part of what you need now. If you want more later, you’ll have to beg me!”
She lightly pressed a finger to his forehead, and a flood of information poured into his mind. When he looked up, she was already gone.
Not only that, she had also thoroughly remade his body.
It was like an immortal touching his head, granting him eternal life.
“Ah, this…” Lu Renjia browsed through the information and clicked his tongue.
So this was a mix of melodramatic female-oriented stories, abandoned by a careless author, and in the end, a bunch of crazy women destroyed everything.
The black-clothed woman was the agent of this world’s heavenly rule, maintaining order, and to ensure a happy ending for the future, she had crossed time and space to pull Lu Renjia into this world… a world that starts as ordinary urban daily life but later spirals into chaos and supernatural mayhem.
And because Lu Renjia didn’t belong to this world, he alone could change the final fate.
“So that’s how it is?”
Lu Renjia found the later phases terrifying, but according to the timeline, that was twenty years away. It probably wouldn’t affect him…
“Alright then.”
He watched as time resumed flowing, and slowly stretched.
Since he’d accepted something from her, he would hold up his end of the bargain.
Lu Renjia was a man of his word.
He fixed his gaze on Bai Luomeng, whose eyes were still red, and rubbed his head in frustration.
Of course it’s a female-oriented world. In a more normal reality, things wouldn’t be this ridiculous.
Well, there’s that classic trope: missing father, sick mother, hard life, and a broken girl.
Even a passing dog would probably howl at this kind of backstory.
But then he thought about how this girl would one day go on to “justice” half the world’s male population. He could understand it, even if he didn’t agree.
Well, that’s far in the future and won’t bother me.
Thinking about the plot ahead, he secretly started to form a plan.
Whenever I think about what I’m going to do next, it makes me laugh.
Lu Renjia felt the recent events had been over the top. Even if he wasn’t the target, the desks had been left a mess.
He might as well clean up, including Bai Luomeng’s area.
So while Bai Luomeng sat there in despair, Lu Renjia quickly gathered and arranged the scattered books and desk.
“Hey, classmate.”
Bai Luomeng lifted her tear-streaked face and saw his calm expression.
“Class is about to start. You should get up.”
And so, Bai Luomeng’s life took a turn…
