Tang Shu had finally finished washing up and was lying in bed.
Aunt Qiao was simply too enthusiastic. Once they started talking, the topics between them seemed endless.
She shared many interesting stories from Shi Zhiyu’s childhood and growing years.
They chatted while eating, and even had a little alcohol.
Tang Shu’s cheeks were flushed red.
She took out her phone and opened WeChat.
There was a small red notification dot on her chat with Shi Zhiyu.
She tapped it.
Less than two seconds later, she locked the screen.
The tips of her ears—and her face—turned even redder.
Clutching her chest, she thought, Good heavens.
Is this really a benefit I’m allowed to enjoy?
She had never expected that completing a mission would come with extra perks.
After taking several deep breaths, she unlocked her phone again.
The screen was filled with perfectly defined muscle lines.
Eight-pack abs, beautifully sculpted.
His chest muscles.
And that handsome face that looked as though it was hidden behind the phone—but not quite hidden enough.
Tang Shu covered her mouth and buried herself in the blanket.
Carefully studying those firm muscle contours.
They looked even more perfect than the ones she drew.
I wonder what they feel like…?
Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey.
What am I even thinking?
One could only admire from afar, not harbor improper thoughts.
Remember that.
He was not someone she could afford to mess with.
Though Tang Shu told herself that, her eyes never left the photo.
Quietly, she saved it.
Of course, not for any other reason.
She simply wanted to practice drawing body anatomy.
To improve her artistic skills.
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Brother, are you trying to tempt me into committing crimes?】
She even attached a mischievous little cat sticker.
The reply came almost instantly.
Fish: 【You said before that you wanted to see it. So I showed you.】
【If you want to touch it, wait until I come back.】
Tang Shu covered her face.
She had only been flirting casually.
Who knew there would be unexpected rewards?
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Whose boyfriend is this considerate?】
【Oh. Turns out he’s mine~】
【Brother spoils me so much~ I feel so happy~】
Fish: 【Mm. Yours.】
【After we get married, you’ll continue being happy forever.】
Tang Shu’s fingers froze on the screen.
Married?
She had never really thought about that word before.
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【People always say marriage is the graveyard of love.】
【I don’t want to get married.】
【What if Brother doesn’t want me anymore by then? I’d be heartbroken.】
【Besides, we’ve only just started dating. You don’t even know what kind of person I am.】
Fish: 【Don’t worry. I won’t.】
【If I ever stop wanting you, my parents would probably beat me to death.】
【I know. We’ll date first.】
【You’ve always been a wonderful person.】
Reading those words, Tang Shu felt a slight stir in her heart.
Actually, whether marriage was the graveyard of love depended on whether you married the right person.
Her own family was very happy, so she wasn’t opposed to marriage.
But marriage was too serious a topic.
For her, it wasn’t something suitable to discuss in their situation.
She crawled out from under the blanket and took several deep breaths.
Hopefully the word marriage wouldn’t come up again for at least a month.
Immediately, she changed the subject.
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Mm-hmm, let’s focus on dating first~】
Fish: 【Did you enjoy dinner tonight? Did you eat a little more?】
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Mm-hmm. I ate a lot. Uncle grilled tons of meat.】
Fish: 【The meat my dad grills is delicious. He doesn’t do it often.】
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【I was lucky thanks to Aunt Qiao~】
Fish: 【My barbecue is good too. I’ll cook for you when I get back.】
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Wow~ Brother is so nice~】
Fish: 【It’s late. Go to sleep early. Don’t stay up.】
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Okay. Good night, Brother~】
Fish: 【Good night.】
Tang Shu probably hadn’t realized it herself.
She always sent Shi Zhiyu good morning and good night messages according to her own schedule.
And Shi Zhiyu always accommodated her.
…
Tang Shu was half-asleep when a phone call woke her.
She answered and heard a deep, rich voice.
“Shu Shu, I’m back. Come downstairs. I’m outside your dormitory.”
Tang Shu jolted awake instantly and scrambled out of bed.
She rushed to the window.
A tall figure stood beneath the sunlight.
Brilliant and dazzling.
It was Shi Zhiyu.
He had come back.
He had even found her dormitory.
She wanted to run.
Then another message arrived.
Fish: 【If you don’t come down, I’ll use a loudspeaker and keep shouting until you do.】
【If I don’t see you today, I’ll post on the university forum that you toyed with my feelings and abandoned me.】
Terrified, Tang Shu immediately changed clothes and washed up.
When she finally reached downstairs and saw that familiar figure—
Her legs were trembling.
Head lowered, she walked toward Shi Zhiyu.
Shi Zhiyu grabbed her chin.
“Little liar. You dared deceive my feelings. Looking for death, huh~”
The grip hurt, and Tang Shu fought back tears.
Suddenly—
She felt herself being pushed onto a bed.
Before her stood Shi Zhiyu, shirtless from the waist up.
He leaned down close to her ear.
“Shu Shu, weren’t you craving my body? I’ve washed up and made myself available.”
The warm breath against her ear made her shiver.
He guided her hand onto his abdominal muscles.
“Well, Shu Shu? Are you satisfied?”
“Is this the feeling you wanted?”
Holding her hand, he slowly slid it downward from his chest…
Lower and lower…
Tang Shu tried to pull her hand back in fright, but Shi Zhiyu held it firmly.
“Shu Shu, I’m feeling awful. Help me, okay?”
“Shu Shu, you owe me this. Who told you to deceive my feelings?”
…
Tang Shu’s eyes flew open.
She shot upright in bed, covered in cold sweat.
Biting her lip, she groaned inwardly.
This was terrible.
Especially that final scene.
Covering her face, she couldn’t believe her own imagination had produced something so embarrassing.
Absolutely terrifying.
After calming down for a long while, she finally picked up her phone.
It was already eight o’clock.
There were unread messages.
Fish: 【Today’s lunch. Did you eat properly?】
Attached was a photo.
Fish: 【Worked out at the gym this afternoon.】
Attached was a picture of him wearing a tank top and shorts.
Tang Shu sucked in a sharp breath.
Then she read the last message.
Fish: 【Dinner wasn’t as good as the food back home.】
【My friends dragged me out to play billiards tonight.】
Attached was a photo of him leaning over a pool table taking a shot.
Silently, she locked the screen.
Closed her eyes.
And tossed the phone aside.
She was doomed.
Absolutely doomed.
Shi Zhiyu had already fallen completely into this relationship with her.
That should have been a good thing.
But her dream had vividly shown her the consequences of deceiving him.
Granted, in the dream she was the one taking advantage of him.
But in reality?
Would he really be that gentle?
No.
He’d probably tie her up and carve her into pieces.
Wait.
No, that was illegal.
After thinking about it, pretty much every possibility seemed illegal.
Shi Zhiyu isn’t some lawless maniac… right?
Then she talked herself into calming down.
Relationships required mutual feelings from both sides.
If she didn’t love him and broke up with him, there was nothing wrong with that.
Right.
Nothing wrong at all.
He wouldn’t be able to find fault with her.
As long as he never discovered that the entire thing had been arranged by Aunt Qiao.
Exactly.
She needed to coordinate their story with Aunt Qiao.
Treat it as if she had genuinely dated Shi Zhiyu.
One month later.
If they weren’t compatible, they’d break up.
Perfectly reasonable.
Picking up her phone again, she replied:
Shu Shu Has Candy: 【Good morning, Brother~】
【Wow~ Brother is so strong and fit. You look amazing at a glance.】
【Brother has to eat properly. Even if the food isn’t good, you still need to eat.】
【After all, I’ve heard that nine out of ten domineering CEOs suffer from stomach problems.】
【Brother absolutely can’t develop stomach issues.】
【I’m getting up now~】
【Later I still have to draw Auntie’s portrait~】
Shi Zhiyu had just finished a round of billiards.
Hearing his phone vibrate, he sat down to the side and took it out.
When he saw Tang Shu’s messages,
a smile spread across his face.
His Shu Shu was worried about him.
