Chapter 4: I’d Be More Than Happy To

Jiang University Cafeteria.

After getting her lunch, Tang Shu took out her phone.

It was time to share another piece of her daily life with her mission target.

The moment she opened WeChat, a message popped up.

[Yu: Not weak.]

[I can stay awake for two days straight.]

The corners of Tang Shu’s lips curved upward.

Looks like men’s stamina really was impressive.

She snapped a photo of her meal.

[ShuShu Has Candy: Today’s lunch—luosifen with an extra egg.]

[Brother is amazing.]

[But staying up late is bad for your health, so try not to do it too often.]

She had just sent the message when Shi Manman leaned over curiously.

“ShuShu, who are you chatting with again?”

“I’ve noticed you’ve been glued to your phone ever since half a month ago.”

“Don’t tell me you’re secretly dating someone?”

Tang Shu casually placed her phone face down on the table.

“It’s a work assignment.”

“I get paid for chatting with him.”

Shi Manman immediately looked surprised.

“You’re not trying to scam someone out of their money, are you?”

Tang Shu raised an eyebrow.

“Do I look like the kind of person who’d do that?”

“Not really.”

Shi Manman shook her head.

“He’s the son of one of my mom’s friends.”

“The auntie said he has autism, so she asked me to chat with him more and help him open up.”

Shi Manman instantly understood and nodded sympathetically.

Shi Zhiyu: Autism?

Since when did I suddenly acquire that label?

Tang Shu figured it was already midnight on his side.

He was probably asleep by now.

So she put down her phone and happily focused on her steaming bowl of luosifen.

Shi Zhiyu, however, wasn’t asleep.

Eyes still closed, he reached for his phone.

Seeing an image in their chat, he opened it.

A bowl of bright red noodles filled the screen.

She actually liked food this spicy?

Was it because she’d spent so much time living in Yuncheng?

As far as he remembered, neither of her parents had particularly strong tastes.

[Yu: Didn’t you say you could eat ten bowls of rice?]

[Is that little bit enough?]

[I got it. I’ll rest on time.]

Tang Shu heard her phone vibrate and picked it up.

She blinked in surprise when she saw the notification.

She hadn’t expected him to still be awake.

[ShuShu Has Candy: It’s enough.]

[I can’t eat too much.]

[What if I get too fat and Brother stops liking me?]

When Shi Zhiyu read the message, he remembered the relationship advice he’d found online.

Girls in relationships often felt insecure.

Especially when it came to their appearance and weight.

At times like this, a boyfriend should reassure them.

Tell them they didn’t need to worry.

Tell them he’d like them no matter what.

[Yu: You don’t need to diet too much.]

[A little weight is good.]

[Being too thin isn’t healthy.]

[ShuShu Has Candy: What if, when we finally meet, I throw myself at you and pin you down?]

[Yu: Mm.]

[I’d be more than happy to.]

The moment Tang Shu read that message, she choked on the spicy broth.

She hadn’t even started putting in real effort yet.

Had the young master already fallen for her?

Seeing her coughing violently, Shi Manman immediately handed over a bottle of water.

“ShuShu, eat properly.”

“Stop staring at your phone.”

“What are you talking about that’s making you this excited?”

Tang Shu accepted the water and took several gulps.

After struggling for over ten seconds, her throat finally felt better.

“It’s nothing.”

“I just saw something funny.”

There were no classes in the afternoon.

Tang Shu returned to her dormitory and began working on her comic.

First, she replied to Shi Zhiyu’s message.

[ShuShu Has Candy: Brother, hurry up and go to sleep.]

[I’m about to take a nap too.]

[Yu: Okay.]

[Good afternoon.]

[ShuShu Has Candy: Afternoon~]

Scrolling through their chat history, Tang Shu felt extremely satisfied.

So even the young master liked sweet, clingy girls.

She hadn’t even used thirty percent of her power yet.

And she could already feel him growing accustomed to her presence.

Very good.

Keep going.

Work harder.

Tang Shu opened her photo gallery and pulled up Shi Zhiyu’s picture.

Then she grabbed her tablet and continued drawing.

Hehe.

Once Tang Shu started working, she completely lost track of time.

Before she knew it, it was already five o’clock.

Her phone suddenly rang.

Setting down her tablet, she looked at the caller ID.

Manman.

She answered immediately.

“Hello, Manman? What’s up?”

“ShuShu, what do you want for dinner?”

“I’ll bring it back for you.”

Tang Shu glanced at the time.

Scream for Me

Five o’clock already.

“Braised chicken rice.”

“Extra spicy.”

“Okay.”

“Wait for me.”

“Thanks, Manman.”

After hanging up, Tang Shu opened the chat pinned at the top of her messages.

It was five in the afternoon here.

Which meant it was only five in the morning there.

He was probably still asleep.

Better not bother him.

She picked up her tablet again and admired her latest artwork.

Those long legs.

The defined muscles.

The eight-pack abs.

She wondered if Shi Zhiyu had abs that impressive too.

On the surface, Tang Shu looked like an obedient, sweet girl.

But inside…

She was an absolute pervert.

Most of the comics she drew were Boys’ Love stories.

Her current project was about a domineering CEO and his mortal enemy being trapped in a passionate love-hate relationship.

As she looked at her comic pages, a delighted auntie-like grin spread across her face.

Hahaha.

She could practically see Shi Zhiyu being pinned against a wall and kissed by the overbearing CEO.

The image of him crying like a puppy made her smile impossible to suppress.

Fortunately, nobody else was in the dormitory right now.

Otherwise, her wicked inner thoughts would have been completely exposed.

Six o’clock.

Shi Manman returned carrying dinner.

“ShuShu, your food.”

“After you finish eating, let’s take a walk around the track.”

Tang Shu accepted the takeout box.

“Huh?”

“You’re not spending time with your boyfriend today?”

Shi Manman collapsed into her hanging chair dramatically.

“We had a fight.”

Tang Shu’s gossip radar immediately activated.

“What happened?”

The moment Shi Manman thought about it, she became annoyed again.

“He likes studying in the library.”

“So I went with him.”

“But ShuShu, do you know what happened?”

“He brought a freshman girl with him.”

“And she sat right next to him.”

“I’m his girlfriend.”

“Shouldn’t I be the one sitting beside him?”

“And then she kept acting all innocent and sweet.”

“She said, ‘Big Sister, I want to ask Senior Brother some academic questions. You don’t mind if I sit beside him, right?'”

“And him?”

“He didn’t care at all.”

“He didn’t even glance at me.”

“I sat there all afternoon holding back my anger while watching them act close.”

Tang Shu immediately gave her a thumbs-up.

“You’re a ninja.”

Shi Manman sighed heavily.

“Afterward, I wanted to pull him aside and talk.”

“But that freshman girl dragged him away.”

“I was so angry I actually started laughing.”

Tang Shu shoveled another mouthful of rice and sauce into her mouth.

Delicious.

“You’re a rich young lady.”

“There’s no need for you to put up with that.”

Shi Manman stared at the ceiling dramatically.

“ShuShu, you’ve definitely never been in love.”

“You don’t understand.”

“He’s really handsome.”

“And that cold, aloof personality totally hits my type.”

“As long as I see that face, I’m satisfied.”

Tang Shu summed it up neatly.

“How many boyfriends has this been since university started?”

“You said the exact same thing about the last one.”

“Oh, whatever.”

“Until I find the next one, I’m not breaking up.”

“Besides, I haven’t invested any real feelings into this relationship anyway.”

Tang Shu took another bite of meat and rice.

“Right, right.”

“Whatever you say, Young Miss.”

“So stop being angry.”

“I’ll buy you milk tea later.”

The sports field.

It was crowded.

Some students were running.

Others were singing.

Tang Shu took out her phone and snapped a photo.

Naturally, it was for her mission target.

After all, she still had to “build their relationship.”

[ShuShu Has Candy: Brother, look at a Chinese university campus.]

[Isn’t it lively?]

After sending it, she slipped her phone back into her bag and continued walking with Shi Manman.

The two chatted as they strolled around the track.

Suddenly, Shi Manman stopped.

Confused, Tang Shu looked ahead.

It was Shen Wenbin.

Shi Manman’s nemesis.

With his indifferent, abstinent-looking expression, he was jogging alongside another person.

Then he ran right past them.

As if he hadn’t seen Shi Manman at all.
