Chapter 13: Uncontrolled Rage

“Hey, stop… stop…!”

Hyunwoo, who had been standing dazed, hurriedly ran over to stop Seunghyuk.

But Seunghyuk didn’t seem to hear a word Hyunwoo said and kept beating the stalker relentlessly.

The stalker’s face and body, being mercilessly trampled under his feet, gradually became covered in blood.

“Seunghyuk, you’re going to kill him at this rate!”

“…….”

“Hey, Seunghyuk!”

If this continued, Seunghyuk might end up in jail for excessive self-defense.

Of course, with Munseong’s wealth, they could probably get him out somehow, but it would still be a problem if the stalker died.

Murder charges carried a heavy sentence.

Hyunwoo was concerned for Seunghyuk, not for the stalker.

But unaware of Hyunwoo’s worries, Seunghyuk ran wild like a horse with its reins cut loose.

Even Hyunwoo could barely breathe due to the sharp pheromones emanating from him.

Why was he so angry?

Hyunjin wasn’t here.

The main person, Hyunjin, hadn’t been hurt or threatened by the stalker, yet Seunghyuk’s reaction was extreme.

Hyunwoo bit his lip and shouted.

“Stop… enough! Are you really going to kill him?”

“Haa, ha….”

“……!”

Seunghyuk turned his head while panting heavily.

Hyunwoo thought he might finally stop, but the gaze he met was unusual.

As expected, Seunghyuk spoke in a grim tone.

“Yes, I’m going to kill this bastard.”

“Wha….”

“So don’t stop me.”

“Hey…!”

Thud, thud. Seunghyuk stomped on the fainted stalker again.

At least, fortunately, the knife had flown somewhere while he was being beaten and couldn’t be seen.

Hyunwoo moved to stop Seunghyuk again but felt a sudden pain in his arm and staggered.

“You… ugh….”

“……!”

Seunghyuk immediately noticed Hyunwoo’s groan and stopped, turning back.

He grabbed Hyunwoo in alarm.

“Hyung, are you okay?”

“Uh… I’m okay.”

The wound wasn’t deep, but perhaps seeing so much blood suddenly made him dizzy.

He had always been physically sensitive to stress.

Hyunwoo held his spinning head with his hand.

“I should have… protected you…”

“What?”

“I… ugh… I should have… again….”

“…Seunghyuk?”

Seunghyuk’s eyes trembled.

Hyunwoo had seen Seunghyuk angry or sarcastic many times, but never so terrified.

Hyunwoo, surprised, couldn’t say a word and just stared at him.

“Hyung!”

“……?”

“Hyung, are you okay?”

“…Hyunjin?”

He turned around to see Hyunjin standing at the entrance, looking shocked.

Why was Hyunjin even here?

Hyunwoo frowned and asked.

“Why are you here?”

“I… I… I was worried about you…”

Glancing at the fallen stalker, Hyunjin looked back at Hyunwoo.

His eyes widened.

“Hyung, your arm…! Is it okay? Is it badly hurt?”

“No, it’s not that bad.”

“Hyung, how… what… does it hurt a lot? Let’s go to the hospital quickly.”

“Ha… for now, report that guy first.”

“Uh, okay.”

Seeing Hyunjin hurriedly take out his phone, Hyunwoo turned his body.

He planned to do some simple first aid.

Hyunwoo easily found a small first aid kit in the room and took out a bandage.

“I’ll do it.”

“…….”

Seunghyuk, who had followed Hyunwoo into the room, took the bandage and said.

Hyunwoo stared at his face for a moment.

Even though he was bleeding, Seunghyuk looked paler.

Thinking this oddly, Hyunwoo slowly took off his jacket.

“Ugh….”

“…….”

The fabric rubbed against the wound, causing pain.

Seunghyuk ground his teeth at the sight.

Why was he acting like this?

Seunghyuk seemed deeply angry about something, making Hyunwoo uneasy.

Luckily, it was a warm day, and he was wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt underneath.

It looked like stopping the bleeding would be enough.

“I’ll disinfect it first.”

“…Okay.”

Seunghyuk carefully held Hyunwoo’s arm and poured disinfectant.

The wound wasn’t deep, but since it was cut by a blade, it was long.

Hyunwoo bit his lip at the sharp pain from the disinfectant.

He had bravely stepped up, only to get hurt, and felt a little embarrassed.

Catching a psycho with a knife without a scratch seemed only possible for novel heroes.

Hyunwoo decided not to act like a hero anymore.

“Just do it roughly. The ambulance will come soon anyway.”

“…….”

“…Seunghyuk?”

Seunghyuk silently looked down at Hyunwoo’s bandaged arm.

His serious expression left Hyunwoo speechless.

Why had he been like this since earlier? Terrifying.

Hyunwoo gave up asking the reason and just stayed quiet.

“…Hyung.”

“Yeah?”

“Promise me you won’t do anything reckless again.”

“Uh….”

Normally, Hyunwoo wouldn’t have listened so obediently.

But Seunghyuk’s face looked so desperate.

Hyunwoo finally nodded while staring at that face.

“…Okay.”

“Haa….”

Seunghyuk sighed and lowered his head.

Then he rested his forehead on the back of Hyunwoo’s hand.

Hyunwoo shivered.

It felt so solemn that he couldn’t push Seunghyuk’s hand away.

His heart stirred strangely.

“Hyung, is the bleeding stopped?”

“Hmm, let’s… go out.”

“…Yes.”

Only after hearing Hyunjin’s voice outside asking about his condition did Hyunwoo snap back.

Feeling awkward, he left the room, and Hyunjin approached anxiously.

“Hyung, hyung. Are you really okay?”

“I said I’m fine.”

Hyunwoo showed his bandaged arm and patted Hyunjin’s shoulder.

Hyunjin looked troubled, staring at his arm.

“But, this guy… you know him, right?”

“Uh….”

Finally, Hyunjin looked at the stalker lying in the middle of the living room.

His face had been badly beaten by Seunghyuk, so Hyunjin didn’t recognize him at first.

After a while, he spoke.

“Kim Minjae?”

“You were classmates?”

“Yes, but why is he….”

“The one who sent you messages. This guy.”

“What?”

Hyunjin looked shocked, staring at Minjae again.

His wide eyes trembled, as if he couldn’t believe it.

“But I’ve never even spoken properly to him…”

“Ha….”

Hyunwoo sighed, staring at the fainted stalker in disdain.

The stalker incident was being resolved more smoothly than expected.

Although the culprit went to the hospital before the police, Seunghyuk wasn’t accused of excessive defense.

Thanks to the lawyers from a large firm who rushed in after contacting Seongyun.

The stalking victim was Munseong’s second son, and the injured party was the eldest son.

No prosecutor would dare mishandle it.

Naturally, things went in Hyunwoo and Hyunjin’s favor.

“Director, your arm must be uncomfortable. If you need anything, just let me know.”

“Yes, thank you.”

Hyunwoo smiled gently at the polite employee.

Although his arm wound was sutured and treated immediately, the large wound required him to wear a bandage for a while.

As a result, word quickly spread in the office, causing some trouble for him.

Most inconveniently, he couldn’t use one arm well.

Luckily, it wasn’t his right hand.

Hyunwoo sifted through documents with one hand and sighed.

“Haah….”

For minor matters, it would be better to leave them to other employees.

Seongyun suggested he rest until his arm healed, but due to ongoing projects, he refused.

His father, the chairman, also didn’t say anything further.

‘Well, Hyunjin is busy enough keeping the work in check.’

To him, the company’s reputation mattered more than his children being stalked or injured.

Chairman Jumoonhyuk strictly controlled information about Hyunjin’s stalking incident.

He could be ruthless with Hyunwoo too, even though he was his real son.

Hyunwoo wasn’t disappointed because he didn’t consider him a true father.

He even felt relieved not having to get involved in handling the stalker.

Hyunwoo hummed until his phone vibrated.

Vuuum.

Pretty Seunghyuk.
It’s the parking lot.

“…….”

As work hours neared the end, he received the message.

Hyunwoo shook his head after checking it.

Seunghyuk was coming to pick him up again.

Since then, Seunghyuk visited Hyunwoo’s office every day.

He claimed he couldn’t drive because of his injured arm.

A temporary driver could have solved it, but Seunghyuk insisted.

‘Something’s off….’

Hyunwoo had thought that after the stalker incident, Seunghyuk and Hyunjin’s relationship would improve, but Seunghyuk seemed preoccupied elsewhere.

Why had it turned out like this?

Frowning, Hyunwoo couldn’t find a reasonable explanation and finally got up.

“I’m leaving first. Finish up, everyone, and go home.”

“Yes!”

“Go ahead, Director!”

After greeting the employees briefly, Hyunwoo headed toward the underground parking lot.
