“Choose the Psychic Class.”
[Selection successful. Commencing class change… Class change complete. Profession changed: None —> [Ultimate Psychic]. Energy transformed into psychic ability.]
[Ultimate Psychic]: All psychic abilities’ effects are enhanced by 100%. When subjective emotions reach their peak, new psychic abilities can be awakened. Intelligence attribute gains an additional one hundred points per level.
Description: [Only those who possess desire shall gain more.]
[Conditions met. Ultimate Psychic ability triggered. Commencing psychic awakening. Please remain still.]
In that instant, the stone transformed into a swirling mass of luminous liquid, integrating into his body. Had an outsider witnessed this, they would have been seized by terror.
Zhang Luan’s entire form was now a fiery crimson, resembling a superheated iron block, or perhaps a bomb on the verge of detonation.
This intense state persisted for nearly half an hour. Deep crimson light pulsed faintly beneath his skin, and two wondrous patterns of light manifested on his wrists before slowly fading away.
[Ding-dong! Congratulations on successful psychic awakening. First psychic ability: [Stellar Blaze]. Second psychic ability: [Fearless Explorer].]
Zhang Luan’s eyes snapped open. His left eye blazed with a burning galaxy, while his right swirled with flowing time. It took a considerable moment for them to slowly revert to their usual dark hue.
He raised his right hand, and a dreamlike flame, shimmering like a galaxy, ignited in his palm.
“It looks a bit like ice cream. I wonder if it tastes good.”
Zhang Luan licked his lips, feeling a pang of hunger.
Scanning his character panel, he saw the two newly awakened psychic abilities quietly displayed in their respective slots.
[Stellar Blaze]: Flames fueled by starlight, dealing damage, burning, and interfering based on Intelligence.
—Evaluation: How many stars must such beautiful flames have consumed?
[Fearless Explorer]: When cast upon a single object, reveals hidden associated objects.
—Evaluation: A truly fearless explorer never fails to find their target.
He had never anticipated awakening two psychic abilities simultaneously. According to the description of the Ultimate Psychic class, a new ability could be awakened whenever a certain emotion reached its peak.
Having been reborn, Zhang Luan’s deepest desire was power, and the might of Stellar Blaze already ranked among the forefront of known psychic abilities.
Yet, it was not enough—far from it.
He was not one to be content with the status quo; there was no strongest, only stronger. His ambitions would never be limited to just Stellar Blaze.
Given his knowledge of future events, what meaning would his rebirth hold if he didn’t seize every fortuitous encounter and treasure? He had to claim them all.
Thus, he had awakened his second psychic ability: [Fearless Explorer].
Both [Stellar Blaze] for combat and [Fearless Explorer] would prove immensely helpful for his upcoming endeavors.
Moreover, the capabilities of [Fearless Explorer] brought a crucial matter to Zhang Luan’s mind.
Deep within the ancient forest outside Akamana City lay a mysterious, abandoned temple.
This temple enshrined no deities; instead, it held only an ancient, enigmatic coin.
Upon reaching Level 10, players who ventured to this desolate temple could trigger an S-rank quest.
[Direction]
As a supremely mysterious S-rank quest, its description consisted of just a single, cryptic sentence:
[Destiny will guide you.]
Beyond this phrase, there were no other clues.
Innumerable players had attempted to unravel this enigma, but tragically, the quest remained unsolved even up to the day Zhang Luan was reborn.
However, for him now, things were different. If [Fearless Explorer] proved effective there, he might just be able to unlock this secret.
But he couldn’t go yet. His level was still a pitiful 1, though reaching Level 10 would only take a single day.
For a player at the game’s launch, reaching Level 10 in one day would be utterly impossible. The game had just started, and most novice players couldn’t defeat anything beyond Level 1 Slimes. Furthermore, early NPC quests offered pathetically little experience.
Imagine tens of thousands of players scrambling for dozens of slimes—it would be an absolute nightmare.
Should one attempt to venture into higher-level areas to hunt goblins, a single goblin might be manageable. However, goblins always appeared in groups, and killing too many ordinary ones would inevitably summon exceptionally powerful variants.
He vividly remembered a video circulating online, depicting a Level 20 Goblin Champion effortlessly slaughtering over a thousand players.
Truthfully, Zhang Luan owed that goblin a debt of gratitude. Without that video, he might never have entered the world of ‘Otherworld Divinity’.
Yet, those goblins, terrifying in the eyes of other players, were nothing to him.
With Stellar Blaze at his command, even a Goblin Champion wouldn’t be an insurmountable foe, especially with his ten years of combat experience from his past life. Mere goblins were trivial.
Moreover, due to the goblins’ tribal lands being situated on fertile plains with abundant food, they proliferated wildly. This often triggered quests to eradicate goblins, which, while not offering much experience, still provided valuable gains, like ‘mosquito legs are still meat’.
In his mind, the goblins had transformed into living experience points, waiting for him to harvest them.
Following the path etched in his memory, he swiftly departed the safe confines of the town and arrived at the perilous plains.
In his sight, a small squad of goblins was tearing at a rotting corpse. The moment they spotted Zhang Luan, their eyes glowed red, and their tongues lolled out as they charged forward greedily. They intended to devour this lone, fresh morsel of flesh.
Sadly, these mindless creatures failed to perceive that the human before them harbored no fear whatsoever.
In Zhang Luan’s heart, the goblins rushing towards him at this moment were not hideous monsters, but rather adorable experience babies.
He licked his lips, a benevolent smile gracing his face.
Just as the first goblin was about to reach him, he drew a pre-prepared iron sword and coated it with Stellar Blaze.
“Don’t rush, take your time. You’re all working so hard to help me level up, I’d feel bad if I didn’t appreciate it~”
