Chapter 24: The White Dove Emblem and a Cunning Plan

Bruno took out a magnificent medal and slammed it onto the table.

“This White Dove Emblem is reserved solely for members of the royal family,” he declared, “and it is more than enough to prove my identity.”

The White Dove was a national treasure of Danga.

Its pure white plumage, coupled with its clear, high-pitched call, made for a breathtaking sight when flocks of them soared through the sky, resembling a celestial river.

An uninitiated person might have dismissed Bruno’s proof as a mere jest.

However, Ellis recognized it instantly.

Years ago, Daisy had lost this very emblem, causing the entire team to scramble in search of it, as she claimed it was a precious token proving her identity.

Ultimately, Larry had found it, thanks to his exceptional luck.

Ellis had even held it in her hands and played with it for a while back then.

The emblem was crafted with incredibly intricate carving, making it nearly impossible for outsiders to replicate.

Moreover, it was made from pure platinum, rendering it exceptionally valuable.

Ellis recognized at a glance that this emblem was undeniably authentic; this scion of a noble house was speaking the truth after all.

This made the situation quite intriguing.

Ellis feigned extreme shock, hastily sitting down and speaking with profound humility.

“Your Royal Highness, I apologize. This humble woman was blind to your esteemed presence.”

Seeing Ellis, who had been so arrogant moments before, suddenly become so submissive, Bruno felt an immense satisfaction at this swift turn of events.

“It’s nothing, as long as you serve me well…”

Bruno’s predatory hand reached out for Ellis, but she abruptly sat upright, interrupting his advance, a look of panic on her face.

“No, how can I appear before you, Prince, looking so unkempt?”

“Please forgive me, I must go back and tidy myself up. May I inquire about your room number? I will come to your room later for a proper conversation.”

Ellis, suppressing a wave of nausea, cast a captivating glance at Bruno, instantly leaving him utterly smitten.

In his eyes, Ellis was already beautiful, so what would she be like after she truly adorned herself?

“Oh, my room number, what is my room number? Quickly, tell this lady.”

The captain of the guards beside him hesitated for a moment but, urged by his prince, decided to reveal the information to Ellis.

Ellis did not linger.

She rose to return to her room, casting another alluring glance as she departed.

“Your Highness, please wait for me a little while.”

That backward glance completely captivated Bruno, causing him to nod repeatedly.

“Go quickly, go quickly.”

What Bruno did not see was that as Ellis rounded the corner into the shadows, she immediately leaned against the wall, feigning a retch.

‘Oh my heavens! For Daisy, I’ve even tossed away my own masculine integrity. My stomach was churning horribly just now.’

Ellis muttered to herself in vexation, then headed straight for Larry’s room.

As soon as she opened the door, she heard ‘Daisy’s voice’.

“How utterly foolish! To actually believe I would conspire against my imperial father and mother!”

Ellis looked in, slightly puzzled, and saw ‘Daisy’ furiously shouting at her reflection in the mirror.

Ellis immediately closed the door, the sound drawing ‘Daisy’s’ attention.

She turned to Ellis and said triumphantly, “How was it? I played the part well, didn’t I?”

This tone instantly made Ellis realize that it was clearly Larry imitating Daisy’s usual personality and manner of speaking.

Ellis clicked her tongue.

“The voice, appearance, and expression are all fine, but…”

Ellis reached out for Daisy’s clothes, but her hand passed directly through them before she could touch them.

“The disguise created by the Disguise Crystal is ultimately just an illusion; it doesn’t provide a physical sensation.”

Larry frowned. “Indeed, that’s true.”

Ellis flashed a cunning smile. “So, stop struggling, boy. Put on the dress.”

Larry: “…”

“You planned all this! You were supposed to be the one to go; you’re already a woman, so wearing women’s clothes is perfectly natural.”

“Perfectly natural my ass!”

Ellis retorted fiercely, “Even if I’ve turned into a woman, my heart is still that of a man! Do you think I *want* to wear these women’s clothes? Do you know the immense humiliation I’ve endured to put them on? You don’t know! That’s why you can mock me so brazenly! Today, I’m going to make you understand! Also, this is Meixia’s breakfast; take it to her and come back in half an hour.”

Larry was momentarily at a loss for a retort.

Finally, he slowly spoke, “Taking breakfast is fine, but why half an hour?”

“I need to change and seduce that fool. Are you planning to watch?”

Larry thought for exactly 0.1 seconds, then decisively said, “Watch! Before you seduce someone else, I think you need to experiment on me.”

“Honestly, my aesthetic judgment is absolutely top-tier. As long as you manage to enchant me…”

Larry couldn’t finish his sentence because Ellis had already summoned Mitchell, who was now aimed directly at Larry, a dangerous glow emanating from Mitchell’s staff.

Cold sweat poured down Larry’s back as he hurriedly grabbed the room key and breakfast, then exited the room.

Ellis casually tossed Mitchell aside and inquired, “I’m preparing to make a profound impression on a man. Do you have any recommendations?”

Mitchell’s tone grew excited, shouting, “I do, I do! My dear Young Lady, I have a bold idea that will surely leave an unforgettable impression on that fellow who desires your body…”

Mitchell began to explain its plan to Ellis.

Ellis listened intently, nodding along, and revealed a knowing smile.

“So that’s it. You have so many good tricks up your sleeve.”

“Knock, knock, knock.”

The crisp, rhythmic knocking awakened Meixia from her hazy slumber.

She sat up, instinctively looking at the bed beside her, only to find it empty.

Meixia shot up, hearing the continuous knocking from the other side, and with a sudden ‘Whoa!’ she leaped from the bed.

She rushed to the door, opened it, and clasped her hands together in a respectful bow.

“Daisy—ah, no, Ellis. I’m sorry, I overslept again.”

However, Meixia was not met with Daisy’s familiar knock on the head, but a familiar male voice.

“My apologies, I am neither Daisy nor Ellis. It’s me, Larry. And your breakfast.”

Meixia looked up and saw Larry looking at her with a helpless expression.

“Wow! Why is it you?”

Meixia finally reacted, quickly realizing she was only wearing loose underwear and hadn’t washed up; her hair was a mess.

She immediately slammed the door shut again.

Larry, having been suddenly shut out, rubbed his nose.

He heard the sounds of rummaging from inside the room, then the door reopened.

Meixia, now neatly dressed, had a flushed face from her haste.

She stepped aside and said, “All right, please come in.”

Meixia seemed completely oblivious to the implications of a man and a woman being alone in a room.

Larry shook his head, then handed over the breakfast.

“I won’t come in. Take it inside and eat; it’s still warm.”

Meixia poked her head out and asked, “Do you have a date with Ellis?”

“Uh, not at the moment. She has some personal matters to attend to.”

“Then come in. There’s something I want to tell you.”

Having said that, Meixia left the door open and went to wash up herself.

Larry felt a deep sense of trepidation.

The room before him suddenly transformed into a perilous den, and his mind raced with a thousand thoughts, various TV drama scenarios playing out in succession.

Larry slapped his own face.

Firstly, he was quite confident in his self-control; his previous teasing of Ellis was more akin to playful banter between close friends.

His abundant material life in his previous world meant he had long passed the stage of merely desiring a body.

Secondly, Meixia was not the type of woman to meddle in others’ relationships.

Although his engagement with Ellis was a pretense, they had maintained their sweet and loving facade well throughout their journey.

Meixia’s straightforward personality meant she wouldn’t secretly sow discord in others’ affections.

Thus, Larry confidently strode in and sat down peacefully on a stool.

Regarding Meixia’s hurried change of clothes and the private garments scattered on the bed, he merely gave them a quick glance before turning to face the wall in quiet contemplation.

His interactions with others couldn’t be as casual as with Ellis, where they both knew each other inside out, completely aware of each other’s bad habits.

In front of outsiders, he was very mindful of his words and actions.

As a result, in the eyes of the several women in the team, he was practically a perfect gentleman, and they had all expressed their fondness for him to varying degrees.

As for Ellis, she was utterly unrestrained, acting the same way in front of outsiders as she did normally, unless she intended to scheme against someone, in which case she might disguise her true self.

Because in the eyes of several women, he was a wild and unruly playboy; in men’s eyes, he might appear unrestrained, but in women’s eyes, he seemed frivolous and untrustworthy.

The bathroom door opened, and Meixia, having finished her grooming, elegantly emerged.
