Join the ServerLeaf Su ambled towards the Housekeeper Miss, his gaze subtly assessing the woman who had come to greet him at the campus gates.
Indeed, she was clad in the familiar uniform of a butler or housekeeper, much like those he’d seen in anime. Yet, the person wearing it was a stunning young woman with long golden hair tied back in a ponytail, her face exuding a formidable, heroic aura. This striking appearance brought to mind a certain ‘Ahoge King’ (TL Note: A common anime trope for a character, often a powerful female, with a single, prominent strand of hair that defies gravity.), though the housekeeper before him lacked any such distinctive strand.
“Let’s get acquainted,” the Housekeeper Miss said with a gentle smile, bending down to playfully ruffle Leaf Su’s hair. “From now on, I’ll be your dormitory housekeeper at the academy. My name is Anna.”
“I… I’m Leaf Su. Please take care of me.”
No further introductions were made, as they both understood that a deeper acquaintance would naturally unfold through their interactions in the days to come.
Green Prairie Captain, seeing that the two had already introduced themselves, concluded his mission. He still had plans to carouse with his brothers that evening, hoping to find some pretty young women to alleviate their masculine loneliness.
“Then we shall part ways here, little Leaf Su. Study hard,” the Captain declared, leaping onto his horse and tugging the reins to turn its head.
“Farewell, and seriously, study well! Otherwise, your sister will beat the shit out of you!”
“Exactly! But don’t go having a few fangirl girlfriends by the time your sister comes to visit, you know how much she dislikes fickle men.”
“There are plenty of rich ladies inside; if you fancy one, make your move quickly! Don’t forget us when you get married!”
The other knights chuckled, teasing him as they slowly followed their captain away.
“Bastards! I told you I’m just here to study!” Leaf Su roared at the departing knight squad. Had a beautiful lady not been standing beside him, he might have immediately flipped off the unreliable band of old men.
“Hehe, those knights are quite amusing, aren’t they?” Miss Anna chuckled, covering her mouth with her hand. Her single remark instantly stunned Leaf Su.
He stared blankly at the receding knight squad, then turned his head to look at Anna, his gaze darting between them several times.
Anna understood his unspoken question.
“That’s right,” Anna confirmed. “Although I’m old enough for you to call me ‘grandma,’ I’d much prefer ‘older sister,’ or else I’ll be very sad.” She feigned a hurt expression, covering her face.
‘Tsk, so she’s an old hag, a maniac for pretending to be young,’ Leaf Su thought, the idea flashing through his mind just as Anna’s expression darkened.
“I have a feeling, little Leaf Su, that you’re thinking something rather rude,” Anna purred, stroking Leaf Su’s head. “What exactly are you thinking?” Leaf Su, however, felt as if that gentle caress could, in the next instant, transform into an unbreakable grip designed to twist his head clean off.
‘Can this person read minds?!’
He quickly apologized mentally over a dozen times, showering her with thoughts of, ‘You’re the most beautiful big sister, it’s all my fault!’ Only then did the oppressive sensation finally dissipate.
“Hahaha, little Leaf Su, you truly are interesting,” Anna mused, a faint smile playing on her lips. “So much more quick-witted than those blockheaded knights.” She recalled the days when she led those knight squires; anyone who dared call her an old woman was promptly beaten into psychological submission. The current Captain, for instance, was one such example, now treating her with utmost deference.
‘Terrifying. Does she really read minds? But such a skill is surely possible, isn’t it?’ Leaf Su’s mind raced, now utterly unwilling to entertain any superfluous thoughts.
“Alright, let’s go inside now,” Anna said. “This semester started half a month ago. You’re a transfer student, so tomorrow I’ll take you to report to Class B of the first year. For now, I’ll show you to your dormitory.” Anna extended the hand that had rested on Leaf Su’s head, taking his hand gently, and slowly led him into the National Academy.
