Chapter 33: Bite

Shen Xiuzhu had been treated like a toy and had his face poked.

After opening his eyes, he did not look angry at all.

He was still resting his head on Song Jingyao’s thigh.

He reached upward, his palm wrapping around Song Jingyao’s neck.

His hand moved along the back of his neck and pressed there lightly, forcing Song Jingyao to turn his head and look back at him instead of avoiding his gaze.

“Why did you stop poking?”

Shen Xiuzhu’s voice was low and hoarse from sleep, making Song Jingyao feel strangely numb all over.

Song Jingyao’s neck was held down.

His vulnerable spot was in someone else’s hand.

Like a kitten being held by the scruff of its neck, he became obedient in an instant and had no choice but to lower his head.

His face still carried the embarrassment and panic of being caught doing something bad.

He reflexively asked, “You were not asleep?!”

The moment he said it, he wanted to bite his own tongue.

Was he not exposing himself?

But that emotion only lasted two seconds.

Soon, he regained his usual arrogance.

He lifted his chin and gave a small huff, his expression clearly saying, So what if I poked you?

It was your honor.

Not only was Shen Xiuzhu not angry, there was even a faint curve at the corner of his lips.

He held Song Jingyao’s finger, brought it to his face, and lightly placed it there.

“Continue.”

Song Jingyao, who had expected to be beaten up, was stunned.

Was there something wrong with this man’s brain?

Song Jingyao’s finger rested against Shen Xiuzhu’s face.

He was confused and suspicious.

What kind of strategy was this?

Was Shen Xiuzhu speaking sarcastically?

Would he chop off Song Jingyao’s hand if he dared touch him again?

Shen Xiuzhu lay there.

Although he was looking upward, his face was full of lazy ease.

His eyes were half narrowed, and the corners of his eyes drooped slightly.

He had none of his usual cold and dangerous presence.

Instead, his entire body gave off an almost demonic charm.

He was overwhelmingly sexy.

So beautiful that he did not seem human.

Well.

He was not human in the first place.

Once Song Jingyao remembered that there was a half-human, half-snake monster lying on his lap, his back suddenly tingled.

It felt as though a cold venomous snake had crawled over it.

He became inexplicably nervous.

Speaking of which, the male lead’s unusual identity should have been a secret.

Only a very small number of people knew.

When it was exposed during childhood, the children had only been kindergarten age.

They had not truly begun forming clear memories.

Even if vague images occasionally flashed through their minds, they would only think they were dreams.

Originally, Song Jingyao, an unimportant supporting character, should not have remembered either.

But he was a transmigrator, an impostor.

A child’s body with an adult mind.

He was like a bug in the world’s system.

He still remembered.

Which meant that he was the kind of cannon fodder who would die faster the more he knew.

Song Jingyao violently shook his head inside.

I know nothing.

Thinking about the fact that the person in front of him was a non-human big shot with a protagonist halo, Song Jingyao immediately withdrew his hand.

Could a big shot’s face really be poked so casually?

Did he still want to live?

The moment he pulled his hand away, Shen Xiuzhu’s expression darkened.

His lips pressed into a line, and he looked extremely displeased.

Song Jingyao became even more certain that withdrawing his hand had been the right choice.

Look at the male lead’s cold face.

If he had been one second slower, he definitely would have been beaten up.

Young Master Song was truly clever.

Shen Xiuzhu’s mood was indeed bad.

But it was completely different from what Song Jingyao imagined.

His jaw tightened as he secretly gritted his teeth.

After hesitating for a while, he finally sat up.

It was not the right time yet.

He casually adjusted his suit and said calmly, “You are staying at my house tonight.”

Song Jingyao immediately jumped up.

“Why?”

His reaction was so dramatic that it was as though Shen Xiuzhu’s home were a dragon’s den or tiger’s lair.

He absolutely refused to go.

But there was a reason for it.

Song Jingyao had been entrusted by his parents to Shen Xiuzhu, the reliable good child.

Naturally, he had to see Shen Xiuzhu often.

He would also have to stay at Shen Xiuzhu’s house frequently.

Living under the same roof as a handsome man with an incredible body was already difficult enough.

And Shen Xiuzhu was a straight man who had no idea that he should maintain a proper safe distance from a closeted gay man.

Song Jingyao could only look but not touch.

Was he not going to suffer to death?

But Shen Xiuzhu always had a reason.

This time was no different.

“The moment I returned from my business trip, I had to pull you out of the police station.

You do not want your parents to find out about this, do you?”

Song Jingyao’s arrogant, massive presence immediately shrank into a guilty little ball.

He opened his mouth but could only protest unwillingly, “Shameless tattletale.”

Shen Xiuzhu raised an eyebrow.

“Say that again.”

Song Jingyao said nothing.

He looked as though he had become obedient in a second.

But he turned his head away, and his lips continued moving restlessly.

His voice was neither loud nor quiet.

It was obvious that he was cursing.

And the person being cursed heard every word clearly.

There was laughter in Shen Xiuzhu’s eyes.

“Are you cursing me again?”

Song Jingyao’s mouth paused.

Then he gave another disdainful huff and admitted it openly.

“Yes, I am.

What are you going to do about it?”

Nothing.

Shen Xiuzhu smiled.

Then he suddenly reached out and pinched Song Jingyao’s cheeks.

With a little force from his fingers, he turned Song Jingyao’s mouth into a fish-like pout.

His lips stuck out, and he could no longer keep talking.

Song Jingyao was stunned.

He had not expected Shen Xiuzhu to suddenly use such a move.

He immediately felt humiliated.

Angrily, he tried to pry Shen Xiuzhu’s hand away.

He stubbornly continued trying to curse him.

But with his cheeks puffed out, his words came out as an unclear stream of mumbling.

No one could understand what he was saying.

Song Jingyao was extremely unwilling to accept it.

How could his strength be weaker than the male lead’s?

It was infuriating.

After trying to pry his hand away several times, Song Jingyao lost his temper.

He glared angrily.

Once his temper rose, he forgot everything else.

He only wanted revenge.

Instead of retreating, he leaned forward.

He opened his mouth and bit down hard on Shen Xiuzhu’s tiger’s mouth.

He had strong teeth.

They immediately sank into the flesh, even drawing blood.

Shen Xiuzhu let out a muffled groan.

Slowly, as he looked at Song Jingyao’s face so close to his, an intense sensation rose from deep inside him.

It quickly spread through his limbs and body, burning hot.

The moment Song Jingyao tasted blood, his rationality returned.

He looked up and met Shen Xiuzhu’s gaze.

A sudden sense of danger rose in him.

He could not understand the meaning in those dark, deep eyes.

But his scalp went numb.

Instinctively, he loosened his bite and began trembling timidly.

f*ck.

He had actually dared to bite a monster big shot.

A venomous snake, too.

Would he die from consuming Shen Xiuzhu’s blood?

Even if the blood was not poisonous, would the male lead find a way to kill this cannon fodder who had dared to offend him?

Song Jingyao’s courage from earlier disappeared in a second.

He felt guilty and certain that provoking a big boss meant his life would soon end.

He did not know what to do.

His teeth were still resting against Shen Xiuzhu’s hand as he tried to make one last desperate effort.

His mind suddenly went blank.

He loosened his bite, tilted his head, and gave Shen Xiuzhu a slightly flattering smile.

Then, carefully, he extended the tip of his tongue.

His breath brushed against Shen Xiuzhu’s hand.

It was warm and damp, making the sensation almost unbearably ticklish.

Shen Xiuzhu’s breathing suddenly became uneven.

He nearly lost his reason.

His eyes darkened.

His voice carried an unmistakable hoarseness.

“…What are you doing?”

His red lips were so clear and close.

The sensation was so vivid that it seemed to itch inside his heart.

He almost wanted to let out a long sigh.

Reason forced him to stop himself.

But his voice still revealed an unusual huskiness.

Song Jingyao was still in a dazed state and did not notice it.

He was only shocked that his teeth had been strong enough to injure the male lead.

He belatedly realized he had done something stupid.

He immediately scrambled backward, putting as much distance as possible between himself and the male lead.

Lick, lick, lick.

Why the hell had he licked him?

Was there something wrong with his brain?

Song Jingyao screamed at himself internally.

His face turned bright red from embarrassment.

Shen Xiuzhu’s gaze never left him.

It remained fixed on him and followed him as he moved.

The stare made Song Jingyao’s scalp tingle.

He was a little frightened.

Even his usual sharp replies sounded outwardly fierce but inwardly weak.

“Pah, pah.

Disgusting.

I need to rinse my mouth…”

He pretended to be disgusted and lowered his head to look for a bottle of water.

But Shen Xiuzhu quickly grabbed his wrist.

His voice was low.

“You bit me, and you think that is enough?”

Song Jingyao’s heart dropped.

In shock, he swallowed.

He swallowed the faint taste of blood in his mouth too.

He was genuinely worried that he might be poisoned.

He stared at Shen Xiuzhu in horror.

Seeing the dangerous look in his eyes, Song Jingyao trembled without realizing it.

Then he stammered, “How about… you bite me back?”

Shen Xiuzhu raised his eyebrows.

He seemed not to expect that answer.

After a brief pause, the corner of his lips curved upward.

Then he suddenly smiled.

“Alright.”

Song Jingyao froze.

He had only been polite.

Should ordinary people not refuse at this point?

…

Words spoken by oneself had to be accepted, no matter how disastrous they were.

Song Jingyao gritted his teeth.

With an expression of exaggerated righteousness, he stretched out his hand for Shen Xiuzhu to bite.

Shen Xiuzhu found it inexplicably amusing.

But when he caught Song Jingyao’s hand, he did not bring it to his mouth.

Instead, he pulled it down and said, “We are almost home.

We will talk about it next time.”

Song Jingyao’s eyes widened slightly.

He squinted through the car window and saw that they had indeed entered the villa district.

For once, he actually felt relieved to arrive at Shen Xiuzhu’s house.

At least he would not be bitten.

Song Jingyao quickly pulled his hand back.

“Next time is fine.

But it is normal if I forget after a while.

My memory has never been very good.”

He openly admitted that he intended to dodge the debt.

Shen Xiuzhu did not mind.

As for biting Song Jingyao’s hand, he did not have much interest in that.

He only remembered the time he had accidentally seen Song Jingyao changing clothes.

His body had been slim but firm.

His waist narrow and his hips rounded.

Every inch of his skin was pale enough to seem luminous.

It had been impossible to look away.

If Shen Xiuzhu were to bite him back, he would prefer somewhere else.

Because Song Jingyao was under Shen Xiuzhu’s care, it was common for them to stay in each other’s villas.

They practically had fixed rooms in each other’s homes.

Song Jingyao had some clothes and daily necessities there.

Anyone who saw it would probably think they lived together.

For that reason, Song Jingyao was as familiar with Shen Xiuzhu’s home as his own.

He was not polite at all.

He went directly to his own room, which was right beside Shen Xiuzhu’s master bedroom.

After participating in a group fight and then being repeatedly startled on the way back, Song Jingyao’s first instinct was to take a shower.

His moods came quickly and left quickly too.

The tension from earlier disappeared almost immediately.

Standing beneath the shower, he was relaxed enough to sing loudly.

Yes.

He had this habit.

He liked singing while showering.

He completely relaxed and enjoyed himself.

But this time, something unexpected happened.

He hummed while dancing around.

He accidentally squeezed out too much body wash, covering the floor in foam.

Then his foot slipped.

His balance failed, and he fell backward.

He reached out wildly, trying to grab something for support, but it was too late.

He landed hard on his butt.

f*ck.

His butt hurt like hell.

Song Jingyao’s face twisted up.

He bared his teeth and wanted to curse loudly.

He sat on the cold, wet floor, waiting for the pain to pass.

Then he tried to push himself up.

But the floor was too slippery.

Before he could stand, he slipped again and fell hard a second time.

Fine.

He did not dare move recklessly for the moment.

Song Jingyao was afraid that one more fall would crack his tailbone.

The shower above him was still spraying water.

It fell like rain onto Song Jingyao, half-sitting on the tiled floor.

He could not help twitching the corner of his mouth.

He felt pitiful, weak, and helpless.

Then a voice came from outside the frosted glass door.

“Yaoyao, why have you been showering for so long?”

It was Shen Xiuzhu’s voice.
