Chapter 27: Drunk

Shen Xiuzhu brought Song Jingyao back to his own place.

Once the special assistant and the driver left, only the two of them remained.

Shen Xiuzhu gently set him down.

Song Jingyao’s cheeks were flushed.

His eyes were hazy with intoxication.

His upper body was bare, covered only by an oversized suit jacket.

It was Shen Xiuzhu’s jacket.

The loose collar exposed his slender neck and a stretch of fair skin.

His pale complexion was tinged with pink, making him irresistibly alluring.

At least, the only other person in the room was completely captivated.

The hand hanging by Shen Xiuzhu’s side twitched unconsciously.

But Song Jingyao’s body swayed unsteadily.

It was as if all the bones had been pulled from his body.

After stumbling backward, he landed on the floor with a thud.

The suit jacket slipped loosely from his shoulders, revealing his collarbone and one bare shoulder.

The fall seemed to hurt.

He frowned, looking dazed and aggrieved.

The oversized jacket barely covered him, giving him an indescribably seductive appearance.

Shen Xiuzhu’s gaze darkened.

He crouched beside him.

His normally cold voice became low and gentle, coaxing him with unbelievable patience, as though speaking to a priceless treasure in the palm of his hand.

“Stay here like a good boy. I’ll get you some clothes. You can’t take a bath right now, but I’ll at least wipe you down.”

Normally, someone in Song Jingyao’s condition should be given some sobering soup.

Shen Xiuzhu had absolutely no intention of doing that.

If anything…

He didn’t want Song Jingyao sobering up so quickly.

The floor was covered with a thick carpet.

Song Jingyao also looked unusually obedient while drunk.

Feeling reassured, Shen Xiuzhu turned around, intending to return as quickly as possible.

But the moment he left…

Song Jingyao immediately became restless.

Pushing himself up with his hands, he slowly climbed to his feet.

Then he staggered toward a nearby cabinet.

Because it was filled with liquor.

Song Jingyao had seen it.

He wanted to drink.

Every drunk person seemed to share the same illusion.

“Help me up! I can still drink! The whole world belongs to me!”

Without hesitation, Song Jingyao skillfully uncorked a bottle.

He raised it directly to his lips.

Gulp.

Gulp.

Gulp.

He actually finished the entire bottle in one go.

“Hic~~~”

His flushed face puffed slightly as he let out a loud hiccup.

He had drunk too quickly.

Some of the liquor spilled from the corners of his mouth, trickling down his chest.

It soaked into the open suit jacket, darkening the fabric.

He looked carefree and uninhibited.

After licking the remaining liquor from his lips, he still seemed unsatisfied.

His eyes wandered toward the other bottles.

Every bottle here was part of Shen Xiuzhu’s precious wine collection.

Each one was meant to be slowly savored.

Yet Song Jingyao had downed an entire bottle as though it were plain water.

The moment Shen Xiuzhu returned, he saw Song Jingyao lazily leaning against the wine cabinet.

His slender waist.

His long legs.

His flushed cheeks.

The way he lowered his eyes and slowly licked the corner of his lips…

That single motion seemed to brush directly across Shen Xiuzhu’s heart.

The itch it stirred was almost unbearable.

Song Jingyao hadn’t noticed him.

All of his attention was focused on another bottle of wine.

Just as his hand reached for it, a strong, slender arm blocked his path.

At the same time, someone firmly grasped his wrist.

Song Jingyao struggled.

He couldn’t break free.

Dizzily, he looked up.

Standing before him was an incredibly handsome man.

Every single feature perfectly matched his tastes.

He was completely his type.

Song Jingyao’s eyes immediately lit up.

Instinctively, he wanted to touch the handsome man’s face.

But being drunk, he couldn’t keep his balance.

His body swayed.

With both arms open, he toppled straight into Shen Xiuzhu’s embrace.

He had successfully thrown himself into the man’s arms.

Unfortunately…

Shen Xiuzhu’s chest muscles were far too firm.

Thud.

Song Jingyao bumped his forehead.

His eyes immediately watered.

Pouting pitifully, he covered his forehead with one hand.

Shen Xiuzhu froze for a moment.

Then, without warning, he smiled.

His mood instantly brightened.

Supporting Song Jingyao halfway, he guided him over to the sofa.

Shen Xiuzhu sat down right beside him.

Very close.

“Let me see…”

Halfway through speaking, Shen Xiuzhu suddenly seemed to think of something.

He slipped both hands beneath Song Jingyao’s arms.

With surprising ease, he lifted him into the air.

Then he settled him onto his own lap.

Like carrying a child.

Only then did he smile again.

Holding Song Jingyao’s wrist gently, he coaxed him.

“Put your hand down and let me take a look.”

Song Jingyao was hopelessly attracted to beautiful people.

No matter what, he always had more patience with someone good-looking.

Even while drunk, that hadn’t changed.

After being gently coaxed by such a handsome man, he obediently lowered his hand.

He even leaned forward to present his forehead for inspection.

It was only slightly red.

There wasn’t any real injury.

Song Jingyao had simply been pampered since childhood.

His skin was exceptionally delicate.

Even the slightest bump could leave bruises that looked alarming.

Shen Xiuzhu’s body temperature had always been lower than most people’s.

His cool fingertips gently brushed across Song Jingyao’s forehead.

The sensation was soothing.

As soft as feathers drifting over his skin.

Song Jingyao instantly relaxed.

Like a proud little cat finally having its fur stroked.

He let out a soft, contented hum.

The warm scent of alcohol escaped with his breath, brushing lightly against Shen Xiuzhu’s chin.

His warm breathing carried a faint intoxicating sweetness.

Shen Xiuzhu narrowed his eyes.

He thoroughly enjoyed how obedient and clingy Song Jingyao was at this moment.

Unlike when he was sober.

Whenever Song Jingyao saw him while clear-headed, he either argued with him…

Or turned around and ran away at the first opportunity.

He never wanted to stay beside him for long.

Every time that happened, Shen Xiuzhu’s mood soured.

Still, he always suppressed those emotions.

Then smiled calmly as though nothing had happened.

Maintaining the illusion of composure.

While Shen Xiuzhu was lost in thought, he failed to notice something.

Song Jingyao had been staring at him the entire time.

The longer he looked…

The more handsome Shen Xiuzhu seemed.

Everything about him appealed to Song Jingyao.

In his drunken mind, only one thought remained.

How can someone possibly be this good-looking?

His body acted before his mind.

Unable to resist, he raised both hands and pressed them against Shen Xiuzhu’s shoulders.

Then he shoved him backward.

Lowering his head…

He kissed him.

It wasn’t a brief peck.

Nor a fleeting brush of lips.

It was forceful.

Bold.

Demanding.

His lips explored without restraint.

Their teeth collided.

The kiss ignited sparks that rapidly spread into blazing flames.

It was an intensely passionate kiss.

Shen Xiuzhu fell backward against the soft sofa.

His pupils contracted sharply.

His entire body froze.

The person hovering only inches away was breathtakingly clear.

His eyes were unfocused with drunkenness.

His lips were vividly red.

His cheeks looked as though they had been brushed with rouge.

His fair skin glowed with a rosy flush.

Every movement carried an indescribable allure.

Song Jingyao narrowed his peach blossom eyes slightly.

His cheeks remained crimson.

After such a passionate kiss, his breathing became ragged.

His chest rose and fell rapidly.

His long eyelashes trembled gently like delicate butterfly wings.

He was beautiful enough to steal one’s breath.

A moment later…

Song Jingyao leaned forward again.

He wanted another kiss.

His enthusiasm was almost impossible to resist.

Like a seductive spirit capable of stealing someone’s soul.

To be suddenly kissed by the person you loved…

There could hardly be a greater surprise.

Even so…

Shen Xiuzhu restrained himself.

He pinched Song Jingyao’s chin, preventing him from kissing him again.

His voice came out low and hoarse.

Slowly, he asked,

“Do you know who I am?”

Song Jingyao simply stared at him.

His dark eyes were deep and unfocused.

His lips hovered only a breath away from Shen Xiuzhu’s.

Another half inch…

And they would touch again.

Their breathing intertwined.

Each warm breath brushed softly across the other’s face.

Yet Song Jingyao remained silent.

It was as though he had forgotten how to speak.

He simply gazed at Shen Xiuzhu.

His eyes overflowed with naked longing.

Shen Xiuzhu could tell immediately.

Song Jingyao wasn’t even remotely sober.

He was completely drunk.

Yet his personality hadn’t changed much.

Whenever he wanted something, he reached for it openly and directly.

He was astonishingly stubborn.

Anyone faced with those beautiful eyes would find it nearly impossible to refuse him.

At that moment…

Shen Xiuzhu finally understood why, no matter how wildly Song Jingyao partied, he always controlled how much he drank.

He never allowed himself to become completely intoxicated.

So this is what he’s like when he’s drunk?

Without reason… would he throw himself at anyone he found attractive?

Would it not matter who that person was?

The moment Shen Xiuzhu imagined Song Jingyao wrapping his arms around someone else…

And kissing them just as passionately…

The joy that had blossomed in his heart only moments earlier vanished instantly.

His expression darkened.

It became frighteningly cold.

Several strange crimson glints flickered deep within his eyes.

He looked almost inhuman.

The air itself seemed to grow restless beneath the weight of his emotions.

The bright white ceiling light clearly illuminated something unusual behind Shen Xiuzhu.

A long shadow stretched across the floor.

It swayed slowly.

As though it were alive.
