****
Huff! Huff! Huff!
Gasla dug a hole in the ground, then poked his muzzle inside. He huffed and puffed into it, covering his face with dust.
The canine’s thought process was beyond Votila’s comprehension.
However, the sounds, almost like mocking laughter, grated on his ears.
Consequently, Votila unleashed his fury upon the tree trunk before him.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Each attack sent large splinters flying, yet it also made Votila’s claws ache intensely.
Finally, after Votila’s countless assaults, the small tree, with a trunk diameter of over ten centimeters, crashed to the ground.
Votila, his morale soaring, strutted before Mulee Hua like a victorious rooster, proudly recounting his triumph.
“Too weak,” Mulee Hua declared definitively. “You attacked a seventeen-centimeter sapling a total of one hundred and eighteen times before it broke. While your claws are strong enough, your forelimbs lack the power to fully leverage their sharpness. Moreover, your attacks are too scattered. If you could strike the same spot every time, felling this sapling wouldn’t be nearly so troublesome.”
Votila’s face fell. Couldn’t this girl say something pleasant for once?
“If you truly struggle to control your attack points, perhaps you could try this…” Mulee Hua mused for a moment before speaking. “Rinna, try adding a bit of rotational force to your attacks.”
What did she mean by rotational force?
Votila stared at Mulee Hua, utterly bewildered.
Sensing her explanation wasn’t clear, Mulee Hua quickly elaborated, “It means… spinning your body like a top. This will lengthen the trajectory of your claws’ force, increasing their power.”
Hmm… though somewhat skeptical, Votila decided to give it a try.
His target was another small tree nearby.
Votila slowly crouched, then instantly sprang forward.
As he neared his target, he leaped into the air, his body rotating twice mid-flight. Descending from above, he brought forth a spiraling, moon-white shimmer.
Like a moon-white disc, it sliced down with a resounding impact.
With a tearing sound, a large, grayish-white gash ripped diagonally across the tree trunk. The entire bark was peeled away.
However, Votila, unable to control his strength, plunged headfirst into the soil.
His entire head was buried in the dirt, only his body exposed, struggling incessantly to pull his head free.
Watching the spectacle, Mulee Hua couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“Hahaha… Rinna, what… what are you doing…?”
With a *plop*, Votila finally pulled his head out.
‘What’s so funny! You rotten girl! It was your terrible idea, anyway.’
After laughing for a long time, the young girl composed herself and pointed to the tree trunk behind Votila.
Votila turned his head and finally noticed his masterpiece.
The tree trunk, originally ten centimeters thick, had snapped diagonally along Votila’s claw marks.
‘I did this? With just one strike?!’
Wahahaha!
‘So this black cat body can be this strong?! As expected, I, Votila, the Wise Dragon, am a hero among cats, even as a small feline!’
“Well done, Rinna.” Mulee Hua patted Votila’s head as if giving a reward. “But your technique is still unrefined; you need more training.”
Training! Good! Training!
Votila’s enthusiasm soared once more.
“So then,” Mulee Hua produced a yellow frisbee, “let’s start with the most basic: catching the frisbee.”
‘Catching a plate? What kind of training method is this?’
Votila was somewhat suspicious.
Mulee Hua explained, “The spiral technique is too difficult for you right now. Catching a frisbee, however, can train your speed, observation, reaction time, anticipation, intelligence, focus, body structure, retrieving instinct, athletic ability, work capacity, and more. This is a highly rational and effective training method I’ve deduced from Gasla.”
‘Wow! Humans truly have many tricks. No wonder those old fogies on the Dragon Throne are so wary of them.’
Votila was deeply in agreement at this moment. A mere ordinary girl could devise such a sophisticated training method as “frisbee catching.” Humans were indeed remarkable.
‘So, how should I train?’
“Hmm… Gasla,” Mulee Hua said to the fierce dog, “you demonstrate first.”
“Woof!” The fierce dog panted, appearing very excited.
Mulee Hua gripped the frisbee, spun it forcefully, and flung it far away.
“Awooo!” The fierce dog lay on the ground, not chasing immediately, but slowly lowering its body.
Votila observed that all the dog’s muscles tensed, hiding explosive power beneath layers of fluffy fur.
With a loud *bang* that tore through the air, sand and dust suddenly kicked up from the ground. The two-hundred-pound fierce dog shot out like lightning.
Left behind were only rapidly swirling air currents, rising grit and stones, and the sunken paw prints where the dog had pushed off the ground.
Even though it wasn’t the first time Votila had witnessed the fierce dog’s strength, he still marveled that this seemingly unreliable, foolish dog possessed such power.
