Join the ServerMoreover, the fiend hound had not even transformed yet. Merely in its regular state, it already possessed such incredible speed.
It was even a few shades faster than when it transformed.
‘Utterly dumbfounded.’
Mulee Hua offered a timely explanation. “When Gasla undergoes his giant transformation, it solely enhances his strength and defense. In terms of speed alone, Gasla is actually more agile and swift in his original form. However, Gasla’s fastest state is still his mount form.”
‘What on earth is ‘mount form’?’
Votila covertly glanced at Mulee Hua, a disconcerting thought surfacing in his mind.
“Ahahaha, Rinna, are you thinking something impolite?”
‘No… that’s just your imagination…’
In the distance, while Votila’s attention wavered, the fiend hound had already caught up to the frisbee. Its front paws kicked up a cloud of dust as it suddenly leaped, snatching the spinning frisbee from the air in a single bite.
As the fiend hound’s jaws clamped shut, the frisbee groaned under the immense pressure.
Yet, just as the frisbee teetered on the brink of shattering, several silver runes, visible to the naked eye, appeared on its yellow surface. With a few crisp *clacks*, nine small white frisbees shot out from the narrow seams along the main frisbee’s edge, scattering instantly through the air.
“Watch closely, Rinna,” Mulee Hua said to the black cat. “The frisbee-catching training has only just begun.”
Seeing the nine smaller frisbees split from the large one, the fiend hound in the arena showed no panic. It pushed off the ground powerfully with its hind legs, its dark claws carving a helical arc as it moved like a flickering, leaping bolt of black lightning. The five frisbees closest to it were instantly struck and shattered, dissolving into specks of light in the air.
‘So that’s how it is. After catching the main frisbee, it has to strike down the nine split-off smaller frisbees. What a challenging training method!’
However, Votila noticed that after the fiend hound struck down five of the smaller frisbees, the remaining four had already flown far away in four different directions.
Just as Votila thought it impossible for the fiend hound to catch those distant frisbees, it moved again.
The fiend hound’s four limbs vigorously pushed off the ground, its entire body seeming to create a hurricane, accompanied by a suffocating rush of air. Its speed instantly surpassed the frisbees’ flight, and in a flash, it was already beside the leftmost frisbee.
“*Whap!*”
Another frisbee instantly exploded.
Simultaneously, the fiend hound forcibly twisted its momentum again, dragging long claw marks across the ground as it dashed directly towards the next frisbee.
‘This fellow…’
Watching the fiend hound’s display of skill now, it was even more exaggerated than before by the lake.
Votila realized something: when the fiend hound used to snatch food from him, it had always been playing around.
Otherwise, with the fiend hound’s true strength, how could Votila ever out-compete it? Unless Votila fully unleashed his Dragon’s Eye, there would be a sliver of hope.
‘Ah… how annoying.’
With a “*whap*,” another frisbee was struck down.
Thus, only one scattered small frisbee remained.
However, that last small frisbee was now wobbling precariously above the river, dozens of meters from the bank.
Votila thought, ‘This time, no matter how fast Gasla is, he won’t be able to catch it.’
Yet, the fiend hound’s actions once again defied Votila’s expectations.
Facing the river, the fiend hound showed no hesitation. Its momentum undiminished, it leaped from the riverbank, soaring across dozens of meters. In an instant, the last frisbee shattered with a resounding *thwack*.
However, the fiend hound also plopped into the water, gurgling bubbles as it slowly swam back. In its mouth, it still held the large yellow frisbee.
Mulee Hua took the frisbee Gasla had retrieved, patting its head in encouragement.
“Thirteen seconds, Gasla. That’s one second slower than last time. You’re regressing again. Have you gotten fat?”
“Woof woof…” The fiend hound whimpered, lying dejectedly on the ground.
“Alright, alright, you tried your best.”
After comforting the disheartened fiend hound, Mulee Hua turned to Votila. “That’s pretty much the frisbee-catching training. So, Rinna, want to give it a try?”
‘It looks quite interesting, so I’ll give it a shot!’
The black cat gestured to the young girl in affirmation.
“Good! Then get ready.” Mulee Hua pulled out a transparent crystal scroll and inserted it into a slot on the frisbee, replenishing its spent magic. Then she threw the frisbee with force.
“Start!”
As the girl’s words fell, Votila had already shot forward.
Completely unlike the fiend hound’s performance, Votila moved without a sound, silently. Not even the bell on his collar reacted. He was like a shadow clinging to the ground, stealthily creeping towards the frisbee.
“Rinna’s balance and stealth are quite strong,” Mulee Hua murmured to herself, watching the black cat dart away.
“Woof?” The fiend hound looked up at its owner, not quite understanding but impressed.
“Compared to you, Rinna is better suited for combat in complex terrain.” The girl gently rubbed the fiend hound’s ear. “If you, Gas, are a berserker, then Rinna is more like an assassin moving in the shadows. Silently observing and waiting for prey, they strike only when certain, delivering a fatal blow before retreating instantly.”
