Chapter 43: A Psychic Encounter and a Confusing Revelation

“Oh? You actually dodged that. You’re the first person to evade my attack. No wonder those big shots above insisted on capturing you alive.”

“Who are you?”

Gazing at the woman who had just landed before them, Liu Xingluo immediately inquired about her name.

If possible, she hoped to converse with her first, perhaps resolving the situation without resorting to combat.

On a side note, the woman’s attire was truly striking: long, slender legs accentuated by black leather boots, and the buttons at her chest deliberately left undone, revealing a glimpse of her ample bosom.

It was practically an act of seduction.

Had Liu Xingluo seen this woman in her original form, she would undoubtedly have been drooling with envy.

“I am Bailu (TL Note: Bailu means ‘White Dew’), a psychic here to capture you alive. By the way, where exactly are you staring with such lecherous eyes?! You’re practically drooling. It’s disgusting.”

“Huh? Was I drooling? Oh, I really was. My apologies, my apologies, it’s just that your outfit, Big Sister, is simply too alluring, and I couldn’t help but…”

Met with a look of utter disgust from the other party, Liu Xingluo finally realized her impropriety and hastily wiped her mouth.

‘Ugh, what am I even doing?’

‘I was supposed to talk my way out of a fight, but instead, I immediately pulled such a cringeworthy stunt, successfully tanking her impression of me.’

“An unbelievable reaction. Are you truly an Irregular Beast?”

Although the scanner’s readings unequivocally indicated that both individuals standing before her were Irregular Beasts.

The reaction from the female individual, however, resembled that of a pubescent boy more than an Irregular Beast.

This made Bailu wonder if her scanner was malfunctioning.

After all, every Irregular Beast encountered previously had been incapable of speech, existing only to destroy.

Yet, this one could not only converse but also harbored lewd desires towards her, a stark contrast to any Irregular Beast she had ever encountered.

“As expected of a psychic, you saw right through me—I’m not an Irregular Beast. To be honest, I’m actually human. My name is Liu Xingluo, I’m 22 years old, and I live at Unit 601, Building 33, C-District Residential Area, Zawame City. I’m unmarried. I just successfully interviewed for a job a few days ago, but before I could even start, I ran into a series of accidents and am currently on sick leave. I don’t smoke, and I only occasionally drink a little alcohol; even at parties, I don’t drink too much, because throwing up on clothes would be troublesome for my sister. I go to bed around 10:30 PM every night. Before sleeping, I watch a Bika Manga (TL Note: A popular online manga platform known for its adult content) and then use a ‘tender cat girl’ (TL Note: A euphemism for a s*x toy or adult content) for 30 minutes. Afterward, I fall asleep immediately and sleep until dawn. I never let my desires linger until the next day. Even my doctor says I’m perfectly normal, aside from advising me to moderate myself a bit.”

“I see… But if you’re human, why are you registering as an Irregular Beast? Could it be that you have something on you made from an Irregular Beast’s body?”

Given that Liu Xingluo had declared herself human and even provided her home address.

Bailu suspected there might be some mistake, believing there must be another reason for the scanner to display them as Irregular Beasts.

“That’s a long story, and I’m not sure if you’d even believe it. But my being human is absolutely genuine. Ah, do you have a phone on you? If so, could I borrow it? I’ll call my family, and she can tell you the full details.”

Considering Lain was also present, Liu Xingluo found it inconvenient to reveal her fusion with the true Seventh Princess.

She could only try to contact her sister, the sole person aware of the truth, and ask her to relay the explanation.

It was also a good opportunity to report her current situation to her sister, preventing her from panicking if she came home from work and couldn’t find her.

“Here.”

“Thanks.”

Bailu took out her phone, unlocked it, and tossed it to Liu Xingluo.

Liu Xingluo quickly dialed Liu Ruyan’s number.

Meanwhile, Liu Ruyan was still at work, striking specific poses in outfits prepared by designers.

Her job as a model was to showcase the allure of the clothing.

– “Excuse me, I need to take a call. Hmm? An unknown number? It’s not a scam call, is it?”

Telecommunication scams existed in every era, even in this current, less-than-safe one.

Upon seeing the call originated from outside the city, Liu Ruyan had intended to hang up.

However, considering other possibilities, she ultimately answered.

– “Hello, who is this? If it’s a sales call, then forget it; my family lacks nothing, and I don’t have time for promotions.”

– “It’s me, Big Sister. Your younger brother, Liu Xingluo.”

– “Huh? Liu Xingluo? Why are you calling me from this number? Did something happen? If I recall correctly, your phone credit should still be plentiful; you shouldn’t be out of credit so soon.”

– “Yes, something indeed happened. Well, it’s roughly like this.”

She recounted to Liu Ruyan how, after acting heroically, she had been sucked into a rift leading to the world of Irregular Beasts, and after finally finding her way back, had ended up in a different city, making it impossible for her to return home anytime soon.

[What in the world is all this?]

This was Liu Ruyan’s reaction after listening to Liu Xingluo’s account.

She had only gone out for work, and Liu Xingluo had already traveled to another world and returned.

Could this even happen in one world?

She felt as if she and Liu Xingluo were no longer siblings at all.

– “So that’s the situation, Big Sister. I might not be able to come home for a few days, so please take good care of yourself at home. I’ll make every effort to get back as soon as possible. Oh, right, I need to hand the phone over to a psychic now; she wants to know what happened to me. Could I trouble you, Big Sister, to explain it to her on my behalf? It’s a bit inconvenient for me to talk about it right now.”

– “Sigh, fine. Give her the phone, I’ll explain. But really, you’re quite the troublemaker, aren’t you?”

Rubbing her temples, Liu Ruyan already felt a headache brewing just listening to all the things Liu Xingluo had encountered recently.

Truly, this younger brother never ceased to cause her worry.

– “Alright, thank you, Big Sister. Here, your phone back. Thanks for lending it to me. My sister will explain everything about what happened to me.”

She handed the phone back to Bailu.

The next second, Bailu put the phone to her ear.

– “Hello?”

– “Hello, I’m Liu Ruyan. My younger brother, Liu Xingluo, has caused you trouble; I apologize. As for why my younger brother became this way, the specific situation is as follows…”

– “Wait, younger brother?”

Bailu interrupted Liu Ruyan’s explanation, her gaze snapping back to Liu Xingluo.

‘Younger brother? But this person, who claims to be Liu Xingluo, looks like a woman no matter how you slice it, right? That long hair and those breasts are clearly female characteristics. Yet, Liu Ruyan is calling her ‘younger brother’?’

‘Is this person a male?’
