Chapter 57: Pursued by the Organization

“So, you’re saying we’re being pursued by that CCB organization? Why?”

The farce of the potion had passed, and after An Yueying explained, Lin Shaoyao couldn’t help but widen her eyes in disbelief.

No one could easily accept being targeted by such a mysterious and terrifying organization.

“This is Silver Moon’s habit, to err on the side of killing rather than letting anyone slip by. Often, this tactic unexpectedly works, but this time, she was a step too slow.”

It wasn’t exactly an errant kill, but it certainly didn’t sound honorable.

“But don’t worry, it’s absolutely safe here. CCB has no right to search, and Silver Moon won’t be foolish enough to come here herself. So, for now, just stay here with me. Once I deal with that white-haired fool, everything will return to normal.”

Lin Shaoyao nodded hesitantly, still feeling a bit uneasy.

Only Tang Nuo could calmly watch TV at a time like this…

A pure and innocent magic girl theme suddenly played, seemingly An Yueying’s phone ringtone.

“Oh, I need to take this call, excuse me for a moment.”

An Yueying calmly took her phone and went upstairs, walking all the way to the rooftop before finally answering the mysterious call.

The voice on the other end was eerily similar to hers, with a slight difference—it sounded more carefree.

“So, do you like the gift I gave you?”

“You went too far, Flower Tea.”

The woman on the phone was the missing Luo Huayin. Her slightly fluctuating tone suggested she was engaged in some form of exercise.

Hearing An Yueying’s cold response, she laughed mischievously.

“Too far? Haha, it looks like our Violet hasn’t quite adapted to the ways of an evil organization. In our world, there’s no such thing as going too far.”

An Yueying’s gaze darkened, knowing this to be true.

Whether it was the Tea Party or any other evil organization, they behaved as this woman described, with no restraints or limits.

“Don’t forget our deal. Until then, I hope you don’t do anything extra, or I won’t hesitate to switch sides again—my old friend is about to return, and for me, going back to being a magic girl isn’t a bad option.”

Luo Huayin paused briefly before bursting into a series of melodic laughs, as if she had heard a great joke.

“Your affairs aren’t my concern, but from what I know, CCB won’t easily accept someone tainted by evil. Their purification process is quite daunting, you know?”

An Yueying let out a soft snort, followed by a gentle yet firm denial.

“Don’t assume everyone is so uncompromising, Flower Tea. If I dare say this, I must have the confidence not to be dealt with.”

Luo Huayin fell silent for a moment before responding with a cold laugh:

“Fine, I’ll keep my promise, but I hope you do the same, just like we agreed—Tea Party is always welcome to have you join, Violet.”

In the province of Jinzhou, education is highly prioritized, with strict management from middle school to high school.

Yet, amidst the relentless pursuit of excellence in other schools, one institution stands out as an anomaly—Market Thirteenth Middle School.

It never engages in recruitment drives. Despite its prime location and superior facilities compared to its peers, it has never been known for outstanding results in the national college entrance exams.

Some have attempted to enroll their children, only to be rejected. Yet, each year, the school manages to fill its classrooms, leaving many puzzled.

Most people, however, lack the curiosity to delve deeper. They dismiss it as mere gossip, occasionally speculating:

“Could this school be for managing troubled students?”

If magic girls are considered troubled, then yes.

Since the threat of Jinzhou’s evil organizations was eliminated, this place has served as an important branch of CCB, dedicated to educating girls (and occasionally boys) with the potential to become magic girls from all over the region.

However, most do not possess the immediate potential to be transformed into magic girls. Their magical aura is faint, requiring specialized training to approach the threshold of awakening. Out of a thousand, only a handful might succeed.

Yet, those in the know regard this school as surpassing even the most prestigious universities. With even a slim chance of becoming a magic girl, the families of these girls can expect a dramatic rise in status and prosperity.

Interestingly, Liu Qingruo’s family once shared this ambition. They hoped she would abandon her mundane hobbies and cultivate the necessary qualities to become a magic girl.

Unfortunately, while Liu’s grandfather was a shrewd businessman, in this matter, he was as clueless as an outsider, never grasping the essence of the process. Instead, he unwittingly pushed Liu Qingruo further away.

Only when it was too late did he realize his granddaughter had the innate potential to become a magic girl from the start. By then, Liu Qingruo had already made her wish, severing ties with her family.

Brilliant yet misguided, a lifetime of acumen ending in self-defeating calculation, it was a tragicomic turn of events.

Regardless, Liu Qingruo attended Market Thirteenth Middle School, excelling as a top student and eventually becoming the magic girl known as Chi. Today, she returned to the school for what was billed as a reunion.

Liu Qingruo didn’t understand why a magic girl high school would hold a reunion, but since she received an invitation, she decided to attend.

Originally, she had planned to stay home, enjoying her teacher Qingyu’s illustrations and indulging in mischief.

After being led by her former homeroom teacher to the school’s infirmary, Liu Qingruo couldn’t help but express her doubts:

“Um, Teacher Li, is the reunion really here?”

The woman known as Teacher Li shook her head with a smile.

“Not quite, but before that, we need to check your health first.”

Hearing the word “check,” Liu Qingruo wrinkled her brow in displeasure. She hated these examinations.

Although she had periodic check-ups during her three years at the school, Liu Qingruo loathed them intensely.

It wasn’t because the medical staff required her to undress and use strange probes on her body. If that were the case, she would be thrilled…

The main issue was the blood draws. Despite her fiery red hair, Liu Qingruo was surprisingly squeamish around blood, always feeling dizzy and lethargic afterward.

Now, she had to undergo another check-up just to graduate. If she had known, she wouldn’t have come…

The moment she entered the infirmary, the pungent smell of disinfectant overwhelmed her, causing her to hold her breath involuntarily. In the next instant, her eyes widened in shock.

Inside the infirmary was not the familiar nurse, but someone who shouldn’t have been there.

A delicate, moon-like girl with white hair.
