Before Chi could even regain her senses, a silver-white flash, far more dazzling than any flame, erupted. Immediately after, she felt a grip on the back of her neck, and she was violently slammed to the ground.

The silver-haired girl coldly throttled Chi’s slender throat. In her eyes, a wine-red hue shimmered like a pool of blood, chilling Chi to the bone with an unprecedented, terrifying coldness.

The instant Ye Qing was about to be attacked, something exploded within Gu Xuanyu’s mind. All thoughts were banished, leaving only a vast emptiness.

By the time she regained her senses, she had already pinned Chi beneath her, the sharp blade of her military knife pressed firmly against Chi’s neck, threatening to draw blood.

‘Had she gone too far?’

Recalling the recent danger, Gu Xuanyu gritted her teeth, maintaining her hold. Simultaneously, she cast a meaningful glance toward Qing.

Elsewhere, Qing still felt a lingering sense of dread. Chi’s burst of speed moments ago had been truly astonishing; Qing had only felt a momentary daze before Chi had already breached the defensive barrier, striking like a crimson bolt of lightning.

The residual, violent magical energy almost toppled Qing to the ground. It was Gu Xuanyu who had first sensed the peril and swiftly subdued Chi, thereby averting a potential tragedy.

A wave of helplessness washed over Qing as she considered this. As a Magical Girl, she felt utterly incompetent, unable even to protect her own student.

She feared that after all these years, her title as a senior Magical Girl was undeserved, requiring a junior to come to the rescue.

Regret gnawed at her; perhaps she should have dedicated more effort to her training. However, contemplating such thoughts now was far too late.

‘Could she truly return to the academy, to the time when Duanmu Jin disciplined her?’

Someone stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in contemplation.

Qing effortlessly took over Gu Xuanyu’s position, restraining Chi.

With the situation now under control, Gu Xuanyu lightly brushed dust from her shoulder. She straightened up, her gaze turning towards Silver Moon.

Silver Moon, too, was momentarily stunned.

After a brief exchange of gazes with those fierce, wine-red eyes, she could no longer suppress the panic surging within her, and she slammed her hand down on the emergency button hidden beneath the table.

The next instant, a blinding flash of light erupted in the room, momentarily rendering everyone sightless. Concurrently, Silver Moon subtly transformed into her mascot form, preparing to burst through the window and escape.

Though abruptly deprived of her vision, Gu Xuanyu remained unfazed. She swiftly dodged, her military knife striking out with precision guided by pure combat instinct.

While Silver Moon fortunately evaded a hit to her torso, her tail was nevertheless savagely pierced.

A searing pain instantly spread through her small body, threatening to incapacitate her. However, Silver Moon’s will to survive overcame the agony, gaining the upper hand.

Without hesitation, she used Gu Xuanyu’s sharp blade to sever her own tail, then violently smashed through the window, plummeting towards the ground below.

The soundproof glass proved harder than she had anticipated, sending Silver Moon’s small head into a chaotic daze.

It felt as though her head had been tossed in a washing machine for hours, almost shaking loose from her body. Only when she was nearly at ground level did she abruptly snap back to reality, halting her descent.

Without her tail to maintain balance, her flight became exceptionally difficult, her direction almost uncontrollable.

Yet, Silver Moon knew a silver-haired witch, blade in hand, was relentlessly pursuing her. There was no room for further thought; she had to escape this place immediately.

In the instant she shattered the glass, numerous shards flew out with her, embedding themselves in her body. Golden blood seeped out, staining the silver-white carpet beneath her with a shocking crimson.

Her vision, too, turned golden, sharpening her awareness.

Ignoring the pain that felt as if her entire body were coming apart, Silver Moon frantically flapped her wings. She darted away like a swallow, occasionally tumbling in the air, nearly crashing into the grass several times.

Rather than be captured by Gu Xuanyu, she would prefer to be sent to the High Tribunal by Duanmu Jin. Even the most severe punishment there would be preferable to the torture she imagined at Gu Xuanyu’s hands.

‘Damn it, why are you always late at precisely these moments, Yinjin?’

‘Why do you always, intentionally or not, push me towards my demise!’

To outward appearances, Silver Moon seemed oblivious to today’s events, making all decisions hastily. In reality, however, she had considered almost every angle, even fully exploiting the unfavorable factor of Duanmu Jin’s arrival.

Both the magic flash, triggered by the emergency button and potent enough to blind Magical Girls, and her chosen moment to act, had been precisely calculated.

According to her original plan, the purified Chi energy would easily subdue Qing, generating no superfluous magical fluctuations. This would grant her ample time to hypnotize Shen Congqing and deal with Duanmu Jin.

She had not anticipated Gu Xuanyu regaining her power, much less subduing Chi.

Nevertheless, with Duanmu Jin as her contingency, she was confident she wouldn’t be captured, for she understood Duanmu Jin’s mysterious prowess and the immense power of the Magical Girl Fading Star.

Fading Star was a formidable weapon she had created, purified multiple times. It was an entity that had faced the second, fifth, and eighth seats of the Tea Party alone and remained undefeated. Now, its overwhelming power was beyond measure.

Even so, after Duanmu Jin reclaimed responsibility for Fading Star, Silver Moon had heard whispers of the formidable reputation she had forged in Yuzhou.

It was said that Duanmu Jin, with only Fading Star at her command, had intimidated the evil organization entrenched in Yuzhou, leaving them too fearful to stir even now.

Upon sensing any significant surge of power from the Magical Girl Academy, she would undoubtedly transform and rush over immediately.

She would apprehend any troublesome evil cadres or renegade Magical Girls. By her calculations, she should have arrived by now…

As Silver Moon pondered in confusion, the Magical Girl Fading Star, whom she had so eagerly awaited, was just a few blocks away. Fading Star was approaching at an unbelievable speed.

Passersby only perceived a strong gust of wind, stirring the air and forcing their eyes shut. When they hesitantly looked up again, all they could see was a silver-grey arc streaking across the sky.

Fading Star’s expression remained serene, her grey eyes calmly fixed on the distant academy. Her grey hair streamed behind her, swept back by the opposing airflow, forming a flowing train.

Just as the academy’s gates were about to come into view, she abruptly paused. Halting her dive, she coldly lifted her gaze to the pink-haired woman who had appeared before her, seemingly out of nowhere.

“You are a dangerous individual.”

The pink-haired woman offered no comment, merely a playful smile. Her slightly revealing robes fluttered in the wind, openly displaying her alluring and seductive figure.

She, too, stood suspended in the air, floating even higher than Fading Star. Her unbound pink hair cascaded down, obscuring the sunlight and casting a shadow over Fading Star.

“Someone asked me to stand here and block people. It’s not for money, purely for show. But until I’m satisfied, no one is allowed to leave.”
