Chapter 62: Mochi Cakes and Lingering Concerns

In truth, Ye Qing’s bottom wasn’t even swollen, so applying ointment was naturally unnecessary; she could probably pull up her pants and run around immediately.

Yet, gazing at those two soft, delicate ‘mochi cakes’, Shen Congqing couldn’t help but feel a subtle itch at the core of her heart. She swiftly took the ointment from Ye Qing’s hand.

Ye Qing had intended to object, but recalling that the medicine she had given Shen Congqing last time was likely expired, she instantly fell silent. She could only pray that no side effects would occur.

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to divert her attention elsewhere. Still, the moment the cool ointment touched her sensitive skin, her breath hitched. She quickly clamped a hand over her cherry lips, stifling any sound.

Immediately after, she felt Shen Congqing’s delicate fingertips, slick with the smooth ointment, gently and slowly spreading it.

It felt as though Shen Congqing was deliberately poking her from time to time, making Ye Qing’s cheeks flush crimson.

‘It must be an accident. Teacher Shen is a proper lady; she couldn’t possibly harbor ill intentions towards me.’

Despite her thoughts, Ye Qing instinctively clamped her legs together.

Under the subtle pressure, a delicate curve at the base of her thighs became prominent, as if invisible threads had deliberately cinched it, making it taut and alluring.

Shen Congqing’s fingers paused.

Her emerald eyes lingered momentarily before finally, with a hint of shyness, moving away.

‘Ahem, what am I thinking? Wasn’t it perfectly normal when she applied medicine for me last time?’

Nevertheless, Shen Congqing maintained a leisurely, unhurried rhythm. It wasn’t merely to spread the ointment evenly; it felt more like her fingertips were deliberately exploring the texture of the ‘mochi cakes’ inch by inch.

The subtle caress made Ye Qing too embarrassed to speak, forcing her to clench her teeth.

‘Teacher Shen, you’re a proper lady, right? You must be…’

At this point, Ye Qing could only self-hypnotize with such thoughts.

Although she understood that the reality was likely the complete opposite of what she hoped, if it were a golden-haired older sister, it wouldn’t be so bad… ‘Pfft, no, no!’

“Oh, right, I went to see Silver Moon.”

Shen Congqing’s words jolted Ye Qing from her chaotic thoughts, causing her to unconsciously let out a sigh of relief.

However, hearing Silver Moon’s name still brought a wave of headache to Ye Qing.

Despite discussing the matter with Gu Xuanyu yesterday and reaching a decision, Ye Qing harbored many lingering concerns.

‘After resolving Silver Moon’s trouble, what then? Should we stage an evil organization raid, meticulously clean up all traces like a crime scene, and then pretend nothing happened?’

‘That’s impossible. The CCB is, after all, a mysterious and formidable organization. It would be unrealistic to discreetly eliminate a city’s highest-ranking official without anyone knowing.’

‘After such an act, a full-scale manhunt would undoubtedly await her.’

Setting aside whether Ye Qing was willing to live a life on the run, she also had to consider her family in Mozhou. If she were targeted, they would undoubtedly fall into danger and surveillance.

This was something Ye Qing could not accept. Therefore, before settling all scores with Silver Moon, she wanted to find a solution that could satisfy both sides.

Gu Xuanyu’s plan was for Ye Qing to stay away from these troubles, continue her studies peacefully, and pretend nothing had happened, quietly waiting for her to resolve everything and take all the burdens upon herself. However, Ye Qing could not accept this proposal either.

‘After finally overcoming their misunderstanding, were they still destined for separation? Wouldn’t that be even more heartbreaking?’

Looking back now, Ye Qing couldn’t comprehend how she had endured three whole years in such suffocating solitude.

Perhaps it wasn’t that Gu Xuanyu couldn’t live without her care. Instead, Ye Qing needed someone by her side who could offer companionship without imposing restrictions.

Many who lived alone chose to keep cats or dogs to alleviate their loneliness. When those clingy furballs snuggled close, it felt as though the chill of long nights could be forgotten.

When these small creatures seemed to understand their hearts, everyday worries would vanish.

Taken a step further, one might unconsciously hope that after a quiet night, they would suddenly transform with a ‘pop’ into furry cat-girls, ready to play some ‘naughty’ games with their owner.

Ye Qing kept no cats and made no new friends. During that period, she lived a completely reclusive life, as if loneliness could not erode her frozen heart-lake, only leaving insignificant scratches on its mirror-smooth surface.

Recalling the hazy memories of that birthday night, Ye Qing had reason to suspect Silver Moon had also tampered with her, specifically to keep her from interfering.

Therefore, no matter what, she would settle all these scores with Silver Moon. As for how Silver Moon should be dealt with… that was probably not something she needed to worry about.

Ye Qing certainly didn’t believe that the pile of things An Yueying had prepared in the bathroom was merely for show.

“I can sense her aura. She’s nearby, but she’s hiding, afraid to see me.”

After listening to Ye Qing and Gu Xuanyu’s accounts, Shen Congqing had a general understanding of the situation. However, she did not approve of using violent methods.

Regardless, Silver Moon was the highest-ranking Magical Girl official in Jinzhou, with extensive connections. Seeking revenge against her would undoubtedly cause immense trouble.

If possible, Shen Congqing hoped to have Silver Moon tried internally by the CCB.

To her knowledge, Silver Moon’s actions had violated numerous prohibitions within the CCB. However, most of the time, as long as a Magical Girl didn’t rebel, these intricate rules were rarely enforced.

Moreover, Silver Moon’s situation was even more complex.

So far, only Yinjin was willing to clean up the mess Silver Moon had left. Shen Congqing was currently hesitating whether to contact her.

If she had a choice, she did not want to speak with that woman.

As a Magical Girl personally selected and trained by Yinjin, Shen Congqing naturally possessed Yinjin’s contact information. Yet, Shen Congqing had never initiated a call to her, for their relationship was undeniably complicated.

Shen Congqing acknowledged Yinjin as an exceptionally capable Magical Girl leader in every respect. However, Shen Congqing herself was, by all accounts, a complete failure as a Magical Girl student.

At that time, the Magical Girl Academy had not yet been established. Consequently, she had been trained individually by Yinjin, and they had shared many “unforgettable and pleasant” memories.

Despite Shen Congqing’s current strictness as a teacher, she had been quite a troublesome girl in her youth. She had, by unfortunate coincidence, fallen directly into Yinjin’s hands.

Shen Congqing’s dedication to painting was beyond question. However, her attitude towards Magical Girl training could only be described as utterly unenthusiastic.

She frequently stayed up late drawing, often arriving late to training the next day. She would also slack off and doze, performing poorly in all aspects.

Over time, even Yinjin, with her excellent temperament, could not tolerate it.

Thus, a similar scene would often unfold: the golden-haired girl would sneak back to her dorm, clutching her drawing board.

The moment she pulled back her covers, her eyes would meet those of Yinjin, who was hiding inside…

It nearly scared her to death!

Although she eventually graduated with difficulty, that period left a profound impression on her. If given the choice, she would rather not hear Yinjin’s unforgettable, cool voice.

‘No, I should call her Yinjin!’

***

At that very moment, Yinjin, who was on a plane, suddenly sneezed. The grey-haired girl beside her swiftly offered a tissue.

“Yinjin, do you have a cold?”

Yinjin wiped her nose and shook her head.

“It’s nothing… We should be arriving soon, shouldn’t we?”

The grey-haired girl looked through the small window, gazing at the cityscape of Jinzhou already visible. A flicker of nostalgia passed through her grey eyes.

“Yes, I want to see Violet, and Qing.”
