Join the ServerHowever, the girl was immediately mortified by the other party’s subsequent reaction.
“Uh, well, thank you?”
Feimeier maintained her stony expression, walking ahead without the slightest inclination to acknowledge the girl.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you? Can’t you at least respond when someone apologizes?”
“…”
This time, Feimeier finally reacted, turning her head to give the girl a cold, indifferent nod before continuing on her way.
Upon witnessing this, the girl simply stopped in her tracks, her small face flushed with anger. She had never imagined that the person who had coincidentally saved her would possess such a peculiar personality.
“Hmph, if you don’t want to talk, then don’t. It’s not like I’m desperate to follow you anyway.”
The girl made a face in the direction Feimeier had left, then glanced around before swiftly running off in another direction.
Feimeier had paid no mind to the girl from beginning to end. Her act of salvation had been a complete accident, an unforeseen twist of fate. Ultimately, it was those cowardly yet troublemaking individuals who had brought it upon themselves by daring to provoke her.
Though her current level was merely LV1,
the game mechanics of this world were clearly unlike others. In this game, levels seemed to be a secondary concern, as increasing one’s level offered no attribute bonuses. Essentially, everyone started as a blank slate, yet everyone began with peak potential.
The sole purpose of levels was to allow players to accept tasks of comparable difficulty at a place known as the Task Center. The higher the task’s difficulty, the richer the rewards upon completion, bringing immense glory to the player.
Given that everyone started on equal footing, success hinged entirely on skill. Players with higher levels naturally exhibited far more intricate maneuvers than ordinary players. From a spectator’s perspective, higher difficulty tasks often showcased more visually stunning operations, which easily captivated lower-level players. This rapidly attracted popularity and, consequently, profit. As the game evolved, many had even turned playing it into a professional career.
Among those consumed by the massive insect, a select few had indeed been true gaming masters, with the highest-level player reaching an astonishing sixty-five.
However, according to that individual’s memories, they had apparently been eliminated by Feimeier while still playing the game. It was likely that many spectators had witnessed this prominent player suddenly go offline and never return.
Feimeier held no interest in such matters. The only thing that currently piqued her curiosity was the nature of these level-based tasks.
Based on the memories of the individuals she had previously consumed, their recollections regarding tasks were quite extensive. Information on the overall task, its intricate details, and even comprehensive strategies were all meticulously preserved in their minds, demonstrating a profound understanding.
After a thorough search, Feimeier discovered that these tasks seemed somewhat akin to ‘tower climbing.’ Players were required to ascend through increasingly higher spaces during repeated trials.
Each task space would present a new world, which players naturally assumed were ‘dungeon maps.’ However, Feimeier, who understood the true nature of this game world, thought otherwise.
This place was already deep within the Quantum World; for other worlds to branch off from it was essentially impossible.
So, what exactly were these so-called task dungeons they visited?
The thought alone sent shivers down her spine.
Feimeier speculated that what they referred to as ‘dungeons’ were most likely passageways leading deeper into the abyss. Yet, these players, completely ignorant of the truth, foolishly continued to hurl their souls deeper into the chasm.
If this theory proved correct, it implied that this Quantum World might be inverted. From a quantum perspective, their perceived ‘climb up the tower’ was, in fact, an assault deeper into the abyss. As for why this was happening, Feimeier tentatively guessed that the Universal Empire might have discovered something significant and was using this game as a pretext to direct players to continually breach the entrance of the Quantum Abyss.
However, the specific details remained unclear, making it difficult for Feimeier to speculate further. Perhaps she should simply experience it herself?
Such a bold idea suddenly surfaced in Feimeier’s mind.
She hadn’t entered through legitimate channels, after all. The individual who had secretly let her in was surely hiding somewhere behind this abyss.
If they had allowed her entry, they undoubtedly had their own agenda. Perhaps it was time for her to meet this mastermind face-to-face?
Feimeier’s interest in the matter grew, and she abruptly halted her steps. Following the strategies embedded in the memories of the game-playing souls she had absorbed, she began to gather resources from the surrounding area.
To challenge the tasks issued by the so-called Task Center, the primary requirement was undoubtedly level. While skill could theoretically reach the game’s ceiling, without a sufficient level, it was impossible to accept tasks within their system.
The initial stage of the first task required a level of fifteen. Players could slowly level up by ‘grinding’ in the so-called safe zones around the respawn point, but Feimeier found that efficiency too low. She simply broke through the safe zone and headed directly to the high-risk area outside the respawn point.
According to the memories, the monsters in this area had high combat coefficients, making battles arduous. It was best to come here only after acquiring complete equipment.
However, despite the high danger in this area, it often came with immense rewards. Each monster here contained a vast amount of experience, and defeating them solo would yield incredibly rich gains.
Nevertheless, because the monsters here tended to move in groups, players typically opted to team up and target isolated individuals for safety.
And now, Feimeier, sporting a ‘newbie halo’ and a prominent ‘LV1’ displayed in her profile, was casually gnawing on two rather grotesque rabbit heads as she moved towards the high-level zone.
As Feimeier arrived at the outskirts of the high-level zone, she happened upon a large group of people, clad in various types of equipment, standing dumbfounded in place.
