Chapter 65: The Price of Arrogance and a Fiery Revelation

“Huh?”

Upon seeing that Liu Xingluo, despite being hit by his attack, neither wet herself as he’d expected nor even showed a flicker of pain, Akiko began to doubt his own abilities.

‘This shouldn’t be happening,’ he thought. ‘During their private tests, everyone had been screaming in agony from his electric shocks. The power he was using now should have been more than enough to make her lose control of her bladder. Why, then, did it seem utterly ineffective?’

‘Could her clothes be made of insulating material, rendering his electrical attacks useless?’

‘If that were the case, he would simply target her legs, which were bare and uncovered by any fabric.’

He accordingly shifted his attack downwards, directing the current towards Liu Xingluo’s legs.

Yet, just as before, the electrical assault had no discernible effect; instead, it was entirely absorbed by Liu Xingluo’s body.

“No… that’s impossible…”

Witnessing the utter futility of his attacks, he was completely dumbfounded.

‘How could even striking her legs yield no results? Could the current simply not be strong enough?’

‘Yes, that must be it. His electricity was potent enough to incapacitate other Superhumans (TL Note: A person possessing extraordinary abilities beyond normal human capability); how could it fail to inflict even a shred of damage here?’

‘He must have been holding back, intending to torment her rather than unleash his full power. If he truly gave it all, he was certain he could bring her down!’

Convinced of this, Akiko immediately cranked the electrical output to its maximum, with the most immediate consequence being Liu Xingluo’s clothes igniting and bursting into flames under the assault of the high-voltage current.

‘Now that he was at maximum output, even if it didn’t kill her, it should at least leave her paralyzed,’ Akiko mused, but reality cruelly shattered his delusion.

For Liu Xingluo, utterly disregarding her burning clothes and the relentless electrical assault, was steadily advancing on Akiko.

“Don’t… don’t come any closer! You want an apology, right? I understand, I’ll apologize. So just don’t come over here!”

Witnessing this scene, Akiko’s terror reached its zenith.

His most powerful attacks were utterly useless against Liu Xingluo; besides begging for mercy, he could conceive of no other course of action.

But it was far too late for pleas now.

Liu Xingluo had offered him a chance to beg for mercy earlier, a chance he had foolishly squandered.

Now, even if he groveled and apologized, Liu Xingluo would not let him off so easily.

“Orah!”

Completely ignoring his recent pleas, Liu Xingluo launched a punch directly at his face.

While she possessed no Superhuman abilities (TL Note: A person possessing extraordinary abilities beyond normal human capability) like lightning or fire to imbue her fists with elemental damage, her raw physical prowess alone was sufficient to inflict immense harm.

Just like that, a single punch sent him flying directly into a nearby shop.

The full force of Liu Xingluo’s blow instantly knocked him unconscious, leaving him sprawled motionless on the ground.

“Hey, is that all it takes to put you down? You’re a Superhuman, aren’t you? Surely you’re not done after just one punch, are you? Show some more backbone, you! Weren’t you quite arrogant a moment ago? Bring back that same arrogance now, huh!”

Liu Xingluo, however, paid no mind to his current state.

He had both harmed her sister and insulted her.

Did he truly believe a single punch would settle everything? Such an easy way out simply didn’t exist in this world!

Consequently, she proceeded to unleash a barrage of punches and kicks upon his unconscious form, the pain of which jolted him back to consciousness.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry! I was wrong; I shouldn’t have insulted you and your sister. Please, just give me a chance to apologize. I’ll sincerely kneel and kowtow in apology.”

Being brutally beaten by Liu Xingluo was unbearable.

Akiko could only beg for mercy while enduring the assault, hoping his words would quickly quell Liu Xingluo’s fury and make her stop hitting him.

It truly hurt so much!

Even as a Superhuman, he couldn’t withstand such a pummeling.

“Fine then, you’ll go down there and apologize! Make it a proper apology!”

Grabbing him by the hair, Liu Xingluo dragged him down, leaping directly to the first floor and landing before Liu Ruyan.

“Sister, look, I gave this guy a thorough beating, didn’t I? Hey, weren’t you going to apologize? Hurry up and do it. Show your sincerity.”

Dropping the thoroughly bruised and battered Akiko before Liu Ruyan, Liu Xingluo seemed to be either showcasing her achievement to her sister or simply compelling Akiko to apologize and demonstrate his sincerity in front of her.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you were downstairs; I am truly, deeply sorry. If I had known you were here, I absolutely would not have thrown that robot down. Please, in your great generosity, forgive me!”

Dragging his battered body, Akiko knelt before Liu Ruyan, weeping profusely as he stammered his apology.

“Alright, alright, I understand. I forgive you. Just remember to conduct yourself properly from now on, and don’t engage in such mischief again.”

Liu Ruyan was not a petty person by nature; moreover, seeing the man so brutally beaten by Liu Xingluo, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse forgiveness.

“Good. I swear I will turn over a new leaf and be a good person from now on, never again doing anything harmful. Thank you, Esteemed Sister. Ah!”

Having received Liu Ruyan’s forgiveness, Akiko was overwhelmed with excitement, for it meant he would no longer be subjected to Liu Xingluo’s brutal pummeling.

Nonetheless, Liu Xingluo still gave him a swift kick to the backside.

“Hey, ‘Esteemed Sister’ isn’t a title you get to use. She’s *my* sister. Honestly, Sister, you’re as magnanimous as ever, forgiving someone like him so easily.”

“Well, after all, he’s been beaten into such a sorry state by you, Xiao Luo, so I couldn’t very well say I wouldn’t forgive him. Besides, I’m more worried about you, Xiao Luo, than about him.”

“Worried about me? There’s no need for that, Sister. This guy’s abilities couldn’t even scratch me. See? I haven’t sustained a single injury.”

“Yes, Xiao Luo, you aren’t hurt; I can see that. However, your clothes are completely ruined. You should hurry and find something to change into.”

“Huh? Oh!”

Only after Liu Ruyan’s words did Liu Xingluo finally realize her predicament.

Her clothes had caught fire due to the earlier electrical attack, but in her fury, she hadn’t paid it any mind.

Now, regaining her composure, she found that half her attire was burnt away, revealing a portion of Liu Xingluo’s impressive cleavage to everyone present.

Realizing this, Liu Xingluo immediately covered the exposed area and dashed into the nearest clothing store with lightning speed.

[It’s over for me. It was already embarrassing enough to be seen in a girl’s form. But to think my chest would be exposed in public like this—my life as a girl is completely ruined!]

Liu Xingluo thought this to herself while changing, even though only a small portion had been revealed, not her entire chest.
