Chapter 7: A Solo Editor’s Battle Against the System.

Even if you bring in the god of labor, one person’s labor cannot beat a team of three or four workers.

Even a legendary special forces member has no way to win if there are twenty grandmothers with guns in a room.

The same goes for YouTube channels.

The YouTube channels of broadcasters above the level of mid-sized companies, where multiple people gather and systematically operate, are a group.

On the other hand, fan channels, where one editor is generally in charge of everything, are individuals.

No matter how skilled an individual is, they cannot keep up with the absolute size of the power that a group puts out.

Most things in life are decided by power, so it’s difficult for fan channels to beat systematized channels in almost every aspect.

The quality of thumbnails and editing, the upload cycle, and all the core elements are inferior.

The only way for fan channels to keep up with the pros is to work in a way that grinds the individual, but I wonder if it’s hard to find someone in the world who would do that without pay.

That being said, it’s not necessarily true that individuals are inferior to groups in every aspect.

There is one thing.

There is a part that fan channels can be ahead of groups in, a part that can be differentiated.

The autonomy of the editor.

The speed of decision-making that is accelerated by that.

I produce the videos alone.

So I also pick the editing points, and I make the videos according to my will.

If my most hopeful plan comes true, then I’ll have to reflect the opinions of the employer, EunSiyu, to some extent from then on.

But not now, and the subject of decision-making involved in the videos on the fan channel is only me.

But the first to put the product on the market is an individual who brings a lump of ore and processes it at home.

Of course, you can never win in terms of absolute power.

Since the labor force and awareness are inferior, it is completely impossible for an individual to make more profit than a large company.

An individual’s consideration is faster in coming to a conclusion than a group’s complex decision-making.

I was focusing on that point.

EunSiyu’s broadcast ended about 10 minutes after the internal war was over.

I’m somewhat confident in that.

If you ask about my understanding of the game Legend of Legacy, I was confident that I would be in the top 2 among video editors, even if I considered hidden Challenger video editors who might exist.

So I gritted my teeth with the mindset that I could do it if I just did a little more.

It was also because it was the truth, and I felt that if I closed my eyes now, I wouldn’t be able to get up again for a while.

It was three hours later that I pressed the upload button for the video that I had finished inspecting.

According to research, the longest time a human can concentrate is no more than an hour for the average person.

Even the most outstanding people have their limits after about four hours.

So, the twenty-three hours that I have spent now probably do not fall within the neat standards of concentration set by scholars in their research.

Just looking at the senses that I’m feeling right now, I could tell that my body had become a mess.

I felt nauseous, and my body moved as if I had been drinking alcohol, as if my head had stopped functioning for any movements other than what it had been doing.

I was convinced that I probably wouldn’t be able to do the final inspection immediately after uploading.

I used to be okay with not sleeping for one night.

Considering that the most important element for sleepless labor is physical strength, I could tell the reason why the performance I could show in my memory and my current physical condition were different.

It must be the difference in physical strength.

It seemed that staying up all night was a bit too much for this body.

I somehow succeeded in crawling into bed, and I entrusted myself to the dizzy feeling.

I felt like it was something I would never be able to do again… right now.

But if this kind of thing happens again next time, I’ll do the same thing.

It’s an opportunity created by luck and skill coming together.

I definitely didn’t want to do anything that would make the work that the team member had done perfectly lose even a little bit of its light in my turn.

Of course… EunSiyu had never contacted me after replying to my email.

So, I’m probably the only one who feels like we’re in a team relationship, but…….

Even if I’m the only one who feels that way, I had to finish my work perfectly and then go to sleep.

In a general market, one product that an individual puts out before a large company doesn’t receive any attention and is buried.

Even if they put it out faster than anyone else, who would use an unverified, homemade cosmetic?

But YouTube is a little different.

Eight out of the ten people who participated in the internal war are broadcasters with a fairly large scale, and they run YouTube channels.

When I uploaded both videos to YouTube, I put a lot of information on them to inform the algorithm that they were related to them.

I put tags on them, and I subtly wrote their names in the titles.

Today’s internal war… also received quite a lot of attention in communities related to broadcasters.

Probably quite a lot of people will search for and watch the YouTube video.

If that happens….

Maybe the algorithm will choose it.

To the subscribers of YouTube channels that already have a fairly large audience, it will be able to be introduced in a way that says, “This is related, and a lot of people with similar tastes to you are searching for and watching this topic!”

For that, the videos on the EunSiyu fan channel had to be the fastest and the most fun.

It had to attract as many people as possible before the video of today’s broadcast was uploaded to other people’s channels.

Did I do well?

I don’t know well, but I did my best to the point where I can pride myself on having kept the words I said earlier.
