I don’t memorize the dictionary definitions of the word “company dinner,” but as an adult living in Korean society, I know enough to roughly answer when asked, “What is a company dinner?”
A company dinner is generally a word that means a gathering where several people gather and eat food together.
Here, several people refer to people who belong to a certain organization, not people who have no relationship and are seeing each other for the first time that day.
This was the company dinner within my common sense.
To say it in a word that is a little more Internet broadcasting-like, it’s an afterparty.
The fact that this common sense of mine is saying is simple.
Whether it’s a company dinner or an afterparty, it’s something that people who have done something together do.
This was why I couldn’t understand the words that the two broadcasters who were in the Discord channel right now had said to me.
I am not a member of this year’s LoL-TCup winning team.
Therefore, there was no reason to be invited to an afterparty that aims to unite and build friendships among team members, celebrate the achievements that have been achieved, and enhance solidarity.
I added and told these questions of mine after saying, “Why would I go there…?”
And, Yu Sieun and Park Hayan began to build up the story, taking turns one by one from then on.
It was an appearance as if they had been waiting for my question.
“Eunsol, you know that you have been a tremendous help to the team, right?”
“Sieun unnie is Master, so people can’t really feel how much you’ve grown since you went from 50 points to 300 points, but I even heard from our room viewers that Sol-nim has transformed me.”
“And I and Hayan have… said that fact a lot on the broadcast, right? Like during the finals interview earlier too.”
“We obviously had to say it since you’re the person who helped us the most. We have to repay your kindness!”
“And you also came out as a scrim substitute once, Eunsol. It would have been dizzying for the opposing team and each other if it had been펑크 at that time, but it was an amazing save, right? Besides, we won all three of the scrims at that time too.”
“You’re definitely a tremendous contributor to Team Crinex. Mhm.”
“From the viewers’ point of view, you’re just a person who played the role of coach really excellently, Eunsol. So if we don’t call you to the team afterparty… Wouldn’t that be even weirder?”
To summarize the lecture that Yu Sieun and Park Hayan poured out on me, it was as follows.
That I had helped in raising the Legacy of Legend skills of the two people.
The two broadcasters have mentioned my existence several times in their respective broadcasts and the victory interview earlier.
In addition, I also have a history of appearing on the broadcast as a scrim substitute for one day.
From the viewers’ point of view, if you take away the title of video editor, I’m just a coach who did the work very well.
The above was the basis that the two women were telling me right now that makes up the claim, “So let’s go to the afterparty together.”
….
Park Hayan added one more word when I was silent after hearing the claims.
“Ah. And Crinex-nim, who is treating expensive beef, said that other YouTube editors can also come. He said that it would be really nice if Sol-nim came in particular!”
If I heard Park Hayan’s words, it seemed that it wasn’t just the opinion of the two people.
‘Hmm.’
In Korean society, there is a saying that there is no beef that is bought with pure goodwill without any meaning.
The limit of the goodwill that the lesson describes is pork.
However, it seems that Crinex, the team leader of the LoL-TCup winning team who is going to pay for the dining together fee now, said that he would buy beef for the team members and the video editors.
That there is a meaning that goes beyond goodwill.
There was a high possibility that a veteran broadcaster, whose eyes that look at the rise and fall of the broadcast have become deep as much as possible, was calling me because there was a reason that was worth it.
I thought that maybe it was a judgment that she would mix in stories about me when she talks about the finals game and the team 회식 on the broadcast later.
My existence is drawing the interest of the viewers of the broadcasters who make up Team Crinex in an instant right now.
Wasn’t it to satisfy those viewers’ needs and, at the same time, use that level of interest?
I quickly began to worry about whether to attend or not.
“It’s okay if you don’t come if it’s burdensome. It’s going to be in Seoul, so it’s a little like that to go alone, but if you don’t come, Eunsol, I’ll just take the train lonesomely, what… If it gets late, I’ll also sleep alone around there.”
The result of the thought was derived when Yu Sieun’s words, who was putting in tea with all her strength that she wanted me to come, had just ended.
“I’ll go. But when is the Afterparty…?”
The reason why I had accepted the suggestion was simple.
I could also see Yu Sieun in reality after a long time, and I could also solve the question of what Hayan looked like.
Also, since I could get acquainted with a broadcaster with a large scale, there was no reason for me to refuse it on my end.
The YouTube material would also come out as it was, so that side would also be good.
I had the thought that the team members would have called me because they thought that it would be okay to say what they wanted to at the dining together itself.
If you make a certain decision, the responsibility for that is given to the future you.
Having finished all the work that was given to the editor of editing the video containing the finals games and receiving confirmation, which is the job given to the editor, one more day after that, I was realizing that obvious fact again with my whole body.
The members of Team Crinex had declared a rest of about three days due to the fatigue from running until the finals.
The dining together was scheduled during that period.
‘…Ah.’
I was in a state of one problem now, with two days left until the after party.
The problem was similar in nature to the problem I had been working hard to worry about when I first went outside to meet Yu Sieun, but when I actually faced it, there were aspects that were a little more difficult.
‘Clothes, what do I do.’
I obviously knew the fact that I shouldn’t go wearing the hoodie that I had worn when I first met Yu Sieun.
I had received the pass for a decent outfit to wear when meeting her from Yu Sieun at that time, but it was clear that it wouldn’t be the case in the current situation even if I didn’t bother asking.
The biggest problem was the fact that I had no other outerwear other than that.
‘Hmm….’
Still, since I had the experience from before, I knew what I had to do.
I picked out a few combinations that looked okay to my eyes from the Internet shopping malls that had the phrase “guaranteed dawn delivery” on them.
I ended the preparation by gathering the links of each product in a memo pad, and I sent a message to Yu Sieun asking for advice.
A question composed with a few choices.
Yu Sieun sent a reply to my message right away, as if she had been sitting in front of the computer.
It was a little too early to have meticulously considered each choice.
Yu Sieun’s message was written in a gentle way about how it would be if we went to buy clothes together.
An answer sheet written as subjective had come back when I had asked as multiple choice.
It meant that Yu Sieun did not have an answer to choose in the Seonji that I had provided.
‘Hmm….’
Maybe the problem I had given to Yu Sieun had a exam error.
I couldn’t bring myself to tell Yu Sieun that if I went outside now, I would be using the outerwear count that I had to use at the dining together.
When I wrote and sent that I would be thankful if you did that for me, Yu Sieun asked if it would be okay to meet for just a moment around noon tomorrow.
A broadcaster who is on a closed and her editor are invincible people when it comes to making a promise time.
Honestly, since it was possible anytime, I replied right away that I understood.
‘Hmm….?
One of the big purposes of the dining together was to see Yu Sieun in reality after a long time, and it seemed that I would achieve that a little faster.
The next day.
I and Yu Sieun, who had met at a department store that was one of the landmarks of the city, did not walk around outside for a long time.
It’s not based on my standard, but based on Yu Sieun’s standard.
Yu Sieun, who had said to walk around only for a little bit today since we have to go to the afterparty right after tomorrow, had dragged me around various places in the department store for several hours after that.
‘Ah.’
When I realized that I had finally returned home, where all my energy had run out, I had shopping bags in my hands.
They were clothes that I had succeeded in made with my own money after refusing firmly to Yu Sieun, who was saying that she would buy them for me since she had picked them according to her taste.
‘…Hmm.’
Is this Yu Sieun’s taste?
It definitely seemed okay.
It was a combination that seemed like it would look okay on anyone, even if you don’t put it on it on the person named Ha Eunsol.
Should I say that it satisfies the harsh condition that it is not too flashy and is a gentle but pretty appearance?
I had also picked them with this feeling when I gave Yu Sieun a multiple-choice question, but the level was definitely different.
It was the skill of a student who had the internal strength to confidently claim that the question had a exam error.
Maybe there is a gap in senses that I can’t follow between me and Yu Sieun.
Since the only person I meet is usually just one anyway, I thought that I should just continue to ask Yu Sieun for this in the future too.
The journey is hard, but there is also the very big advantage that the “You’re pretty” compliments that I hear from Yu Sieun in between are very tickle tickle..
The day before my experience of getting beef at the after-party of a platform competition, which I think is probably the only one of its kind as a YouTube editor, passed like that.
