Chapter 58: Moving into the Disciple’s Residence

After the entrance ceremony, Meng Yingxing brought his few bags of luggage to Wuyun Peak that same night.

Although Meng Yingxing had lived in the Tianfeng Sect since he was a child, he had packed very few things.
In fact, many of them were just ingredients he had stored up.

Seeing Meng Yingxing huffing and puffing as he carried his things up the mountain, Xiu Qingcheng felt a pang of pity.

After all, her disciple had just told her how good it was to have her, so of course, she had to show some appreciation.

Xiu Qingcheng used her own power to help Meng Yingxing hang a cloth bag on her hilt.

Actually, many people in the spiritual cultivation world had Qiankun Bags or storage jade artifacts to hold their things.
But as one could imagine, Meng Yingxing, who was dirt poor and had no one to back him up, naturally didn’t have such things.

Forget about magical artifacts; even the cloth bags he used to hold his things were repurposed from old clothes.

However, Xiu Qingcheng thought, now that Meng Yingxing had become an official disciple of the Tianfeng Sect, he would have these things in the future.

Even though the elders of the various peaks had a very subtle attitude towards Meng Yingxing during the entrance ceremony, Xiu Qingcheng still wanted Meng Yingxing to fleece the Tianfeng Sect for all it was worth.

Only a fool wouldn’t take what’s offered!

Halfway up the mountain path, Xiu Qingcheng remembered to ask Meng Yingxing if he had brought everything.

The answer she got from Meng Yingxing was: he had brought everything, everything was brought, and her things were also brought.

Xiu Qingcheng had a bewildered look on her face. “Me? What things do I have to bring?”

As a sword with a clean conscience and empty sleeves, she had never known that she had things to bring.

Just as Xiu Qingcheng finished asking, a cloth bag on Meng Yingxing’s back suddenly moved, and a small cat with gray fur and white paws poked its head out.

“Sword Ghost!” A wave of pleasant surprise washed over Xiu Qingcheng’s heart.

So the “things” of Xiu Qingcheng that Meng Yingxing was talking about was this cat.

Her disciple was indeed thoughtful.
Although Xiu Qingcheng said she had taken in Sword Ghost to be her scapegoat, she had completely forgotten to bring it with her.

“Meow meow meow!!”

After Sword Ghost emerged from the cloth bag, it flew up and perched on Meng Yingxing’s head, meowing furiously at Xiu Qingcheng as if it were saying something unpleasant.

“Little children shouldn’t use bad words!”

“Meow meow meow!!!”

“That’s a bad word, you can’t say that!”

“Meow meow meow meow meow!!!”

Sword with a potty mouth!”

Hearing that Xiu Qingcheng could actually argue with a cat, Meng Yingxing became a little curious.

“Master, can you talk to cats?”

“No,” Xiu Qingcheng answered truthfully. “But I can guess that it’s cursing people and swords.”

“It’s cursing you for stuffing it in a cloth bag.”

Xiu Qingcheng looked at Meng Yingxing.

“Master, I think your statement is open to question.”

Meng Yingxing retorted in a serious tone.

The bickering on the mountain path had mostly dispelled the gloom that had been rising in Meng Yingxing’s heart.

Soon, Meng Yingxing arrived at Wuyun Peak.
According to the rules, a designated person would lead him in.

Meng Yingxing hadn’t expected it to be such a coincidence; the person who came to pick him up was actually Liu Chenxin.

“Junior~ Brother~ Meng~”

From a distance, Meng Yingxing heard Liu Chenxin’s voice.
He saw her waving at him, running towards him at full speed.

Meng Yingxing walked a few steps in Liu Chenxin’s direction, and the two quickly met.

“Junior Brother Meng, you’re a little late. The others who joined Wuyun Peak with you have already arrived.”

Liu Chenxin swayed her body, her face full of mock reproach.

Besides Meng Yingxing, two other people had joined Wuyun Peak this time, both of them girls, and they had moved in early.

Compared to the other peaks, few were willing to join Wuyun Peak, which focused on medical arts.

“Sorry, Senior Sister, I was held up by something.”

Meng Yingxing expressed his apologies.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. Let’s go quickly.”

Liu Chenxin didn’t care about wasting this little bit of time.
She beckoned for Meng Yingxing to follow her and casually took the cloth bag hanging on the hilt of the Ting Tian Sword and slung it over her own shoulder.

“Hey, hey, hey, that’s my job! You woman, give it back quickly! Taking without asking is stealing!”

Xiu Qingcheng gave the above instructions regarding Liu Chenxin’s action of taking her bag.

That being said, since someone was willing to take her burden, Xiu Qingcheng was happy to be free.

“Junior Brother Meng, you even brought a cat.”

Only after slinging the bag over her shoulder did Liu Chenxin notice Sword Ghost, who had slid to Meng Yingxing’s side.

Meng Yingxing tilted his head slightly.
The gray cat squirmed restlessly in his peripheral vision.

“Yes, this cat is called Sword Ghost. It’s… my pet.”

“Sword Ghost? What a strange name.”

Liu Chenxin said, uncontrollably reaching out her hand towards Sword Ghost.

No one can resist a cat that’s right in front of them!

Faced with Liu Chenxin’s outstretched hand, Sword Ghost squinted its eyes and very proactively rubbed against it.

“Don’t let her touch you! You fickle cat!”

Seeing the cat she had been trying to win over for several days easily letting someone else pet it, Xiu Qingcheng immediately bristled.

It was hard to say who was more like a cat, she or Sword Ghost.

The distance from the entrance of Wuyun Peak to the disciples’ residence was not far.
The path was lined with lush green bamboo, which created a rather atmospheric scene under the moonlight.

“Junior Brother Meng, although I believed you could stay in the Tianfeng Sect, I never thought you would actually become my official junior brother.”

Liu Chenxin said as they walked.

“Please take care of me in the future, Junior Brother Meng. If you need anything, you can also come to me. You know, I have some influence with Elder Mu Xin.”

Meng Yingxing nodded. “Then thank you, Senior Sister.”

Xiu Qingcheng didn’t know what Liu Chenxin was secretly planning, but at least for now, she seemed to be treating Meng Yingxing very well.

But even if Liu Chenxin’s approach to Meng Yingxing was really for some dangerous purpose, with her current power to transform, she could easily help him solve any trouble that came his way.

Xiu Qingcheng couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in her all-around care for her disciple.

“Disciple, the hearts of people outside are treacherous. Only I am truly good to you.”

Meng Yingxing suddenly heard Xiu Qingcheng say this to him out of the blue.

He nodded as if he understood, yet didn’t, his tone carrying a hint of confusion. “Of course I know, Master.”

Xiu Qingcheng’s daily PUA of her disciple progress, one bar one completed.

Under Liu Chenxin’s guidance, they arrived at the disciples’ residence of Wuyun Peak in no time and came to the room arranged for Meng Yingxing.

Xiu Qingcheng had to say that the welfare for disciples in the Tianfeng Sect was indeed very good.
From the disciples down to the handymen, everyone had their own small courtyard.

The place where they were about to stay in the disciples’ residence was also like this.

‘The Tianfeng Sect is so rich.’

The layout of the entire house was similar to his previous handyman’s courtyard, but the decoration and everything else far surpassed it.
The dilapidated little courtyard couldn’t even compare.

After helping Meng Yingxing put all his luggage in the house, Liu Chenxin, as usual, told him about some things to pay attention to and the schedule for tomorrow.
He needed to perform another apprenticeship ceremony with the other new disciples at Wuyun Peak.

“The day to open the mountain gate is coming again. At that time, Senior Sister will treat you to a meal to celebrate your great victory in the Divine Weapon Trial!”

Liu Chenxin happily arranged for Meng Yingxing.

“Is this woman really that enthusiastic?”

Xiu Qingcheng snorted. “I still have to say, offering kindness for no reason means she’s either a traitor or a thief!”

Ever since Liu Chenxin had shown a slight hint of duplicity, Xiu Qingcheng had been full of vigilance towards this woman.

“It’s fine, Master. I was planning to go out that day anyway,” Meng Yingxing said.

“What do you have to do?”

“Buy a gift for you, Master.”
