Join the ServerXiu Qingcheng prepared to deliver a psychological blow to Qingqiu Zhaoying.
The sword in her hand was lunging toward his heart without a shred of mercy.
But at this critical juncture, an eerie purple light spread around Qingqiu Zhaoying, swirling like a cyclone before enveloping him completely.
Xiu Qingcheng’s sword struck this demonic purple light, and for a moment, her hand was jolted until it felt numb.
Then, the purple light condensed into several flying swords, raining down upon Xiu Qingcheng like a driving gale.
Xiu Qingcheng felt a surge of vigilance and took a step back to leave enough of a buffer, her longsword blurring into a barrier that swatted all the flying swords aside.
“My apologies, young lady, but I am quite fond of this fox; I cannot let you kill him so easily.”
A third voice rang out before Xiu Qingcheng, causing her to frown.
“Who are you?”
She flicked the residual demon blood from her blade and gave a sharp cry toward the front.
As her voice fell, the purple light condensed into a human shape before Qingqiu Zhaoying, gradually revealing the man’s full appearance.
It was a man with black hair reaching his ankles, dressed in black robes and holding a silver longsword.
The man stood with his back to Xiu Qingcheng, leaning over to check Qingqiu Zhaoying’s injuries.
“Duguang!”
Qingqiu Zhaoying’s bloodshot eyes stared fixedly at the man before him.
He remembered this voice clearly; it was Rift Heaven General Duguang, the one who had made the deal with him within the seal.
He had originally thought it would take a long time for this man to break the seal, yet he hadn’t expected him to break the seal left over from the Ancient Era so quickly.
“How tragic… for such a great demon bolstered by my power to be wounded like this…”
“Exactly what kind of person would possess such strength?”
Duguang stood up and slowly turned his body around.
Xiu Qingcheng finally saw the face of the uninvited guest; he was a handsome man—
If one ignored the fact that he had two pairs of eyes.
A Rift Heaven General had appeared again so soon.
And if she wasn’t mistaken, Qingqiu Zhaoying’s power also came from this General, just like the Xu family members who had made a deal with the Tree God, Hua Bukai.
Xiu Qingcheng lifted her sword slightly, already prepared to fight both of them at once.
The moment Duguang saw Xiu Qingcheng, all four of his pupils widened as if he were seeing something unbelievable.
In Duguang’s vision, a woman in a red robe and white dress, holding a shimmering, semi-transparent sword, stood there expressionlessly.
“So it’s you… it’s you!”
Duguang’s voice trembled with excitement, and the scenery in his vision flickered and changed along with his memories.
The crumbling earth, the split rivers, the falling architecture.
Every kind of scenery appeared, yet the only thing that remained constant was the woman in the red robe and white dress before him, and the countless swords he himself had broken.
“Xiu Qingcheng! We finally meet again!”
“I didn’t even have to waste effort looking for you!”
Duguang’s voice rose several octaves as he shouted Xiu Qingcheng’s name.
This left Xiu Qingcheng somewhat puzzled; her brow furrowed more deeply as she struggled to recall any memory related to this four-eyed man.
“Who?”
“You know my name? You know me?”
Facing her inquiry, Duguang spread his arms, the excitement on his face plain for all to see.
“Of course I remember you—always, forever!”
“Your blade long ago carved you into my body, into my soul, strike by strike!”
“You surely still remember me, right!?”
Xiu Qingcheng instantly broke out in goosebumps.
The Rift Heaven General’s words made her feel incredibly uncomfortable, and her throat felt a bit nauseous.
“You’re a lunatic. I don’t know you.”
Xiu Qingcheng shook her head, her words showing no politeness.
Her response caused the expression on Duguang’s face to stiffen; then, his excitement drained away, leaving only a chilling coldness.
Duguang slowly let out a breath.
“It seems… many other things happened to you after that.”
“In that case, let us introduce ourselves anew.”
“I am the Rift Heaven General, Duguang.”
“We once made an agreement to have a battle.”
‘Duguang who?’
Xiu Qingcheng tugged at a lock of hair falling by her ear, racking her brain but still unable to remember ever knowing such a person.
Furthermore, her current appearance and body had only appeared after she met Meng Yingxing; how could anyone recognize her through her looks?
And besides, would she really have agreed to a fight with someone like this?
Could it be as Qingqiu Zhaoying said—that in her blurred memories, the Ting Tian Sword once belonged to that damn Rift Clan?
“I don’t remember! Who cares about you.”
Xiu Qingcheng remained unmoved.
Hearing this, Duguang’s shoulders began to shake uncontrollably as he let out a dark, chilling laugh.
“You don’t remember… you don’t remember? It doesn’t matter…”
“My sword will make you remember!”
As soon as his voice fell, he transformed into a streak of silver light, lunging at Xiu Qingcheng.
Duguang’s sword speed was incredibly fast—faster than anyone Xiu Qingcheng had ever seen.
She lifted her sword to meet him and was struck head-on.
She hadn’t expected that not only was his speed fast, but his strength was also terrifyingly immense. Although she blocked the attack, she was pushed back dozens of meters by the momentum.
Hua Bukai was one thing, but Duguang was also a troublesome opponent; moreover, this Duguang was noticeably more powerful than Hua Bukai.
Xiu Qingcheng and Duguang clashed blades several times, destroying several houses in the process. She gained a superficial understanding of his current power.
If she could one-shot Hua Bukai or Qingqiu Zhaoying with her eyes closed, then Duguang was an opponent who required her to concentrate slightly to defeat.
In terms of the power rankings of Jintian Kyushu, he was already an existence at the very peak.
‘Are all Rift Heaven Generals of this caliber?’
“Xiu Qingcheng, it has been a thousand years. Are these powerless sword moves all you can use? You’ve really regressed!”
Duguang roared at her, his sword strikes becoming increasingly sharp and tricky.
Xiu Qingcheng even suffered a small gash on her arm due to a momentary lapse.
She looked at the wound on her arm where spiritual power was faintly leaking, pursed her lips, and leaped back several steps.
It seemed Rift Heaven Generals all possessed the ability to wound spiritual bodies. Not only that, the flow of spiritual energy around them would slow down drastically.
However, the extent to which Duguang weakened the flow of energy was not as exaggerated as Hua Bukai; although Xiu Qingcheng was affected, her strength wasn’t reduced too drastically.
“Powerless, you say?”
Xiu Qingcheng twirled her sword, a mocking sneer hanging on her lips.
“But I think these ‘powerless’ moves are enough to kill you.”
Hearing her reply, Duguang merely smiled.
“You are just as arrogant as before!”
Duguang’s sharp blade lunged again, and she tangled with him once more.
Two violent surges of sword intent erupted and collided in the air. The area around them became a forbidden zone for life; any living being that entered would be shredded.
“Stop acting like we’re close!”
Every move was lethal.
“Of course we’re close! Xiu Qingcheng! We fought countless times!”
“Looking at you now, you must have never won against me before.”
Perhaps Xiu Qingcheng’s words touched a sore spot, as she felt Duguang’s attacks become even more ferocious.
‘He’s getting triggered.’
“Not enough! Not nearly enough! Your sword moves don’t even have half the power they had back then! Why don’t you use your strongest form to face me!?”
Duguang roared, appearing to get more and more worked up after being provoked by her.
While striking back, Xiu Qingcheng had enough leisure to tug at her hair. She realized she truly wasn’t using her full strength against him because she wanted to see if she could squeeze out some more information.
But if she wasn’t using her true skill, was this Rift Heaven General before her using his?
“Are you not using your full strength either?”
Xiu Qingcheng spoke casually, but it successfully incited an even greater battle intent in Duguang.
He gave a furious laugh, and the clothes on his back suddenly tore as another pair of arms grew out.
Then, purple light surged from Duguang’s three empty palms, transforming into three identical silver swords.
Currently, Duguang had four eyes and four arms, his four swords glowing like a rainbow. He looked like a terrifying beast that would make anyone’s heart freeze with fear.
He attacked with all four swords simultaneously from all directions. Xiu Qingcheng dodged the brunt of the assault.
The four swords missed, striking the ground. In an instant, the earth cracked and the surrounding houses collapsed.
Xiu Qingcheng leaped into the air, her eyes flickering slightly.
‘This is getting interesting.’
Duguang spread his four arms, dispersing the dust raised by his previous strike. His dangerous four eyes locked onto Xiu Qingcheng in the air—
“Now I am using my true skill. It’s your turn, Xiu Qingcheng!”
“Let me see it once more—the Dust-Slaying Sword you learned from Lord Chongli—”
