Chapter 47: Xiu Qingcheng Equals…?

Xiu Qingcheng sneaked bites from the several dishes already on the table while glancing at the small cat by the window.

In order to sneak even more food, Xiu Qingcheng decided to carry out an evil plan involving this little cat.

She looked at the only dish on the table that would expose her if she touched it—the steamed fish—yet still chose to grab a section with her hand.

It wasn’t that Xiu Qingcheng wanted to use her hands, but Meng Yingxing hadn’t prepared any chopsticks.

He probably planned to bring out the bowls and chopsticks only when he was about to eat himself.

But there was nothing to be done about it.
After all, in Meng Yingxing’s mind, Xiu Qingcheng didn’t need to eat and wouldn’t use chopsticks.

To avoid getting her hands covered in sauce, Xiu Qingcheng pinched the piece of fish with her fingertips and then tossed it towards the small cat, which was fast asleep with its head down by the window.

After throwing the fish, Xiu Qingcheng didn’t forget to lick her fingertips.

Perhaps because the fish landed very close, or perhaps because it smelled the aroma of the fish, the originally sleeping kitten’s ears twitched, and it immediately lifted its head.

“Meow~”

The kitten looked around, seemingly confused, but soon locked onto the freshly served piece of fish on the floor.

The kitten had no sense of caution.
Faced with food delivered right to its doorstep, it immediately abandoned its sleeping posture and leaped gracefully from the windowsill.

It took a few elegant cat-like steps, easily reached the fish, and lowered its head to sniff.

Then, Xiu Qingcheng watched it lower its head and begin to devour the fish with gusto, making loud smacking sounds as it ate.

In the blink of an eye, the piece of fish Xiu Qingcheng had thrown to the kitten was eaten clean.

After finishing, the kitten even licked its fur, looking as if it wanted more, then raised its head and stared straight at Xiu Qingcheng.

Seeing this, Xiu Qingcheng let out a sinister laugh in her heart.

She supported herself with one hand and beckoned to the kitten with the other.

“Come here, good kitty!”

No one can resist being melted by a cute cat! Not even a man!

Perhaps Xiu Qingcheng’s words really worked.
The cat took a few light steps and came to her side, then with a powerful leap, it landed on the bench.

Remembering how long it had been since she last petted a cat, Xiu Qingcheng’s hand uncontrollably moved to stroke the cat’s head.

The fluffy and soft fur blossomed under the touch of her palm, like a ray of winter warmth reaching straight to her heart.

The cat also seemed to enjoy being petted by Xiu Qingcheng, even主动 rubbing against her hand.

‘When I was a sword, you ignored me. Now that I’m a human, you come running. Hmph, you fickle cat!’

“Good kitty, pets, pets, pets!”

Xiu Qingcheng squinted her eyes in enjoyment, seemingly having long forgotten her evil plan.

After petting the cat for a while, a wave of unprecedented satisfaction washed over Xiu Qingcheng, and her evil plan returned to her mind, which had been turned to mush by the cuteness.

Xiu Qingcheng stared at the dishes on the table and suddenly began to brazenly sneak food from every plate, no longer as restrained as before for fear of being discovered by Meng Yingxing.

She even picked up a bowl and took a sip of the Spirit Eggplant Soup, and after finishing, she casually turned the bowl and put it back.

Next, Xiu Qingcheng’s hands moved in tandem.
One hand picked at the dishes on the table, while the other stroked the cat back and forth.

With delicious food to eat and a cat to pet, Xiu Qingcheng felt that her life had reached an unprecedented peak.

Of course, Xiu Qingcheng didn’t forget to feed the little cat.

One spirit and one cat, their eating styles were surprisingly similar.

After Xiu Qingcheng had been feasting for a while, Meng Yingxing finally finished the last dish and brought it out.

He entered the room with the dish, saw that a lot of the food on the table was gone, and also saw a small cat hissing very unfriendly at his sword master.

“Little disciple, are you done? Come and sit down to eat.”

Xiu Qingcheng’s sword body swayed from side to side as she calmly greeted Meng Yingxing.

She hadn’t expected that after she turned back into a sword, the little cat that had been so affectionate towards her would immediately become wary and start hissing threateningly at her.

Perhaps the sudden transformation had scared the little cat, but this was exactly the effect Xiu Qingcheng wanted.

“Master…”

Meng Yingxing wanted to ask what was going on and why so much of the food on the table was gone.

Xiu Qingcheng naturally knew what her disciple wanted to say, so she spoke first.

“Your food was all eaten by this cat.”

“I tried to shoo it away, but it wouldn’t leave no matter how I tried. I couldn’t bring myself to kill a cat, could I?”

Xiu Qingcheng tilted her sword body, pointing the tip at the cat beside her, her tone one of helpless resignation.

“I could only watch as it ate all the food you worked so hard to make. How despicable!”

Xiu Qingcheng was filled with righteous indignation.

The little cat meowed, meowed, meowed, meowed.

Meng Yingxing looked at his tilted master, then at the cat meowing at his master beside her, and it seemed that things were indeed as his master had said.

“So the cat ate the food?”

“Yes, the cat ate your food!”

Xiu Qingcheng said to Meng Yingxing very seriously.

Meng Yingxing was inexplicably speechless.

Seeing Meng Yingxing’s silence, Xiu Qingcheng immediately used a wider part of her blade to swiftly scoop up the cat by its belly and present it to Meng Yingxing.

“Cats are so cute. You wouldn’t have the heart to punish it, would you, disciple?”

Meng Yingxing stared at the cat being held up to his face by Xiu Qingcheng and seemed to see an angry expression on the cat’s face.

“Meow!!”

Along with the cat’s angry cry and Xiu Qingcheng’s gasp, the cat unleashed a flurry of kitty punches at Meng Yingxing’s face with the speed of lightning!

Luckily, Meng Yingxing was fast enough.
Holding the dish in his hand, he took a few steps back.

Not only did he not spill a drop of the soup, but he also dodged the cat’s sudden attack.

Meng Yingxing leaned back awkwardly.
The cat, meanwhile, landed gracefully from the Ting Tian Sword, stalked out the door with stately steps, and quickly disappeared.

One person and one sword remained in the room, frozen in a strange posture and silence.

Then, Xiu Qingcheng slowly flew to Meng Yingxing’s face and checked it.

“Good, your face isn’t scratched.”

After saying that, Xiu Qingcheng circled around and flew to the dining table.

“Hurry and sit down to eat. You must be hungry, right?”

“I saw that cat eating with great enjoyment. These dishes must be delicious.”

Xiu Qingcheng familiarly greeted Meng Yingxing, as if she had prepared the meal herself.

Meng Yingxing put down the last dish in his hand, went to get utensils and the staple food, and only then sat down to eat.

Although the food had been pilfered by a cat, he didn’t mind.

“Master, this cat has a huge appetite. There’s not much crispy pork left.”

“…Perhaps it likes it. It’s normal for a cat living in the Tianfeng Sect to be some kind of spirit beast. It’s not strange for it to eat a lot.”

Although Meng Yingxing was talking about the cat, Xiu Qingcheng, who knew the inside story, felt as if every word was directed at herself.

After eating for a while, Meng Yingxing prepared to drink the soup.

Although Meng Yingxing had prepared a spoon, he didn’t use it when drinking the soup, instead lifting the bowl directly.

It was only when Meng Yingxing lifted the bowl that Xiu Qingcheng noticed that because she had turned the bowl when she put it back after drinking, the part she had drunk from was now facing Meng Yingxing.

And after eating the other dishes, the oily part of her lips had left a glistening mark on the rim of the bowl.

Xiu Qingcheng wanted to stop Meng Yingxing, but she couldn’t say anything.

If she stopped him, wouldn’t everything be exposed?
She couldn’t possibly say that the cat also drank soup directly from the bowl, could she?

Feeling an inexplicable sense of shame, Xiu Qingcheng watched helplessly as the oblivious Meng Yingxing drank a mouthful of soup from the exact spot she had drunk from.

After finishing, Meng Yingxing even nodded.

“Master, I think this Spirit Eggplant Soup tastes better than before.”

“I-is that so…”

The Ting Tian Sword trembled violently in mid-air.

‘What’s the big deal? When two men drink from the same bowl, it’s a sign of true brotherhood!’
