The day after Meng Yingxing’s failed attempt to infuse the Ting Tian Sword with spiritual energy to help Xiu Qingcheng take human form, Liu Chenxin came looking for him early in the morning.
When Liu Chenxin arrived, Meng Yingxing was in the middle of his three-hundred-swing training with a wooden sword.
This was a new training task that Xiu Qingcheng had set for him recently.
No matter what kind of swordsmanship or sword techniques, they were all based on a series of basic movements like swinging, chopping, stabbing, and picking.
The training of these movements was the most basic and also the most easily overlooked.
But they were also often the most important.
Xiu Qingcheng’s rule for Meng Yingxing was to perform each of these movements three hundred times a day with the most standard posture.
Although Xiu Qingcheng wasn’t sure if three hundred times was enough, it didn’t matter if it wasn’t.
She could always increase the number for Meng Yingxing later.
This number, she, Xiu Qingcheng, would cover it!
“Hi, Junior Brother Meng Yingxing~”
Liu Chenxin, thinking she was being playful, peeked her head out from behind the courtyard gate, smiling and waving her slender hand at Meng Yingxing, who was continuously swinging his sword in the courtyard.
“Senior Sister Liu.”
Meng Yingxing responded to Liu Chenxin but didn’t stop the swinging motion of his hand.
Women would only slow down the speed at which he drew his sword!
And before letting Meng Yingxing train, Xiu Qingcheng had specially instructed him that no matter what happened during his sword practice, he should not stop swinging his sword.
Only for particularly important matters or emergencies was he allowed to temporarily stop his training.
“Junior Brother Meng is so diligent. Do you train like this every day?”
Liu Chenxin walked in with her hands behind her back, looking at Meng Yingxing with some admiration.
“I wouldn’t be able to do it. If I could sleep in, I would definitely sleep until noon.”
Liu Chenxin said self-deprecatingly.
Xiu Qingcheng, who was playing dead as a sword in the house, heard Liu Chenxin’s words and couldn’t help but sigh:
‘Senior Sister is so green tea, so green tea!’
“Senior Sister Liu, is there something you need?”
Meng Yingxing asked Liu Chenxin directly, while silently counting the number of times he had swung his sword.
“Oh my, you saw right through me, Junior Brother Meng? It seems I’m not very good at hiding my expressions, am I?”
Liu Chenxin stuck out her tongue. “I do have a favor to ask of you, Junior Brother.”
“My parents sent me a lot of things, and they all arrived early this morning. They’re all big items, and I can’t move them.”
“And there are very few male disciples in our peak. You’re the first male disciple I found.”
“Please, Junior Brother Meng, be merciful and help your Senior Sister! Junior Brother, Junior Brother, please, please!”
Liu Chenxin bowed with her hands clasped together, looking as if she sincerely hoped for Meng Yingxing’s help.
Meng Yingxing remembered that Liu Chenxin was the young lady of some family in her hometown before she joined the Tianfeng Sect, and her family doted on her.
During the time Liu Chenxin had been in the sect, her parents did indeed send her many things every few days.
Meng Yingxing felt a little helpless for a moment.
Liu Chenxin had indeed taken care of him in many ways.
Now that she was asking him for a small favor, he had no suitable reason to refuse.
“Master, it seems I have to go. Will you be alright by yourself?”
Meng Yingxing remembered that Xiu Qingcheng would lose her ability to move if she was a certain distance away from him.
“What problem could I, a sword playing dead, have? I should be the one asking if you’ll be alright by yourself.”
Xiu Qingcheng also understood that Meng Yingxing had no clear reason to refuse Liu Chenxin’s request.
“I’ll be fine.”
“Go early and come back early. Come back as soon as you’re done helping.”
“Okay.”
Only after getting Xiu Qingcheng’s permission did Meng Yingxing say to Liu Chenxin, “Senior Sister Liu, wait for me to finish the remaining fifty swings, and then I’ll go help you.”
“Alright.”
Liu Chenxin’s face immediately lit up with joy.
Fifty swings were quickly finished, and Meng Yingxing, as instructed by Liu Chenxin, ran to the foot of Wuyun Peak to help her move things.
“You go down first, Junior Brother. I’ll go find a few more people to help.”
Hearing Liu Chenxin say this, Meng Yingxing didn’t suspect anything, nodded, and headed down Wuyun Peak.
After Meng Yingxing’s figure disappeared from sight, Liu Chenxin leaned against the courtyard gate and chuckled softly.
“Junior Brother Meng is really an honest fellow.”
She paused, her gaze shifting to the inside of the house—
The sword that Meng Yingxing had brought out from the Divine Weapon Pavilion was leaning against the table inside.
“Am I right, Ting Tian Sword Spirit… miss? Sir?”
Liu Chenxin’s voice was not loud, but it reached Xiu Qingcheng’s ears without reservation.
Xiu Qingcheng’s heart suddenly jumped.
‘Liu Chenxin is talking to me. What does she know?’
‘So what she said to Meng Yingxing just now about needing his help was to send him away?’
At first, Xiu Qingcheng thought that Meng Yingxing was going to be alone with Liu Chenxin, but now it seemed that the one Liu Chenxin wanted to be alone with was her.
Xiu Qingcheng continued to play dead.
No matter what Liu Chenxin had discovered, as long as she played dead, Liu Chenxin couldn’t do anything to her.
“Stop playing dead. I heard Meng Yingxing talking to you outside last night.”
Liu Chenxin sneered.
‘Playing dead? Useless! She has solid evidence!’
“You and Meng Yingxing are quite playful, aren’t you? ‘I’m coming in,’ ‘I’ll try to be as gentle as possible’…”
As Liu Chenxin spoke, she walked into the house.
‘Liu Chenxin really is secretly investigating Meng Yingxing!’
This was Xiu Qingcheng’s first reaction, and her second was to silently curse herself for being too careless, for not even noticing Liu Chenxin eavesdropping outside.
Her third reaction was that what Meng Yingxing had said last night was so easily misunderstood.
Her final reaction was that others couldn’t hear her speak, so how could Liu Chenxin be sure that the person talking to Meng Yingxing was her!
What if Meng Yingxing was really hiding a beauty in his golden house and having a party every night!?
Despite the thousands of complaints in her heart, Xiu Qingcheng continued to play dead.
At this moment, Liu Chenxin had already walked not far from Xiu Qingcheng.
Seeing that her words still couldn’t get a reaction from the sword spirit, a seed of doubt began to grow in her heart.
‘Could it be that I guessed wrong?’
But last night, when she heard Meng Yingxing talking in the house, she only saw his shadow.
Then the person he was talking to should most likely be the sword spirit.
“Could it be that the spirit hasn’t fully condensed yet?”
Liu Chenxin bent down and knocked on the blade of the Ting Tian Sword with her knuckles.
Perhaps what she had said wasn’t stimulating enough to provoke a reaction from this sword spirit.
Liu Chenxin’s eyes darkened.
She remembered that Meng Yingxing had called someone “Master” yesterday.
“I’ve fallen in love with your disciple.”
Liu Chenxin said to Xiu Qingcheng in a low voice, but it was obvious that this was just a lie to provoke the sword spirit.
The Ting Tian Sword in front of her showed no reaction.
“If you don’t show yourself, I’ll have to kill that precious disciple of yours.”
Liu Chenxin changed her words.
This time, when she said this, there was a hint of ruthlessness in her tone, and her gaze was so cold it didn’t seem like she was acting.
The morning sun had moved to the right position, and its light pierced through the doorway like a sharp sword, falling into the house.
Liu Chenxin’s mouth was slightly agape, and she said no more.
She lowered her eyes and looked at a cobalt-blue sword that was instantly pressed against her neck, as if it wanted her to offer her neck for the slaughter.
At the other end of the sword, the black-haired young girl was unsmiling, her face as cold as frost.
Her vermilion lips parted slightly, and the words she spoke were solemn and grave.
“You can’t kill him.”
“And, you’re not worthy of him.”
