Chapter 80: The Enemy Slaying Sword

Lin Yunchuan rode his sword to the entrance of the Tianfeng Sect.
Meng Yingxing was also set down.

“Thank you, Senior Brother.”

Meng Yingxing once again bowed respectfully to Lin Yunchuan.
Because Lin Yunchuan often cultivated in seclusion and then went out to slay demons and monsters after finishing his cultivation, even though Meng Yingxing had grown up in the Tianfeng Sect, he and Lin Yunchuan had no interaction whatsoever.

Meng Yingxing even thought Lin Yunchuan might not even know who he was. So Meng Yingxing was still polite to Lin Yunchuan, not lacking any of the proper etiquette.

“I hope Junior Brother will remember the safety precautions for sword-riding flight that I mentioned earlier.”
Lin Yunchuan still couldn’t forget the accident that occurred during Meng Yingxing’s sword-riding flight earlier, fearing that he would make the same mistake next time.

“I will bear it in mind.”
Meng Yingxing felt ashamed, but still made a firm promise.

“I still don’t know your name, Junior Brother?”

Just as Meng Yingxing was about to take his leave, Lin Yunchuan asked for his name.

“My name is Meng Yingxing.”
“We are all fellow disciples; there’s no need to falsify names.”
“Meng Yingxing… a good name.”

Lin Yunchuan smiled faintly, appearing indeed unaware of Meng Yingxing’s ‘useless’ reputation.
Xiu Qingcheng saw his elegant demeanor, surmising he must have many fangirls in the Tianfeng Sect.

“I am Lin Yunchuan. Our acquaintance is indeed fated.”
Lin Yunchuan also cupped his hands in greeting to Meng Yingxing.

‘”Alright, Tianfeng Sect’s loyal dog brother.”’
Xiu Qingcheng thought with malice.

“Then, Junior Brother, let’s part ways here. I still have matters to attend to. Junior Brother, you must cultivate diligently; I look forward to the day we can jointly eradicate the demons of the human world.”

Seeing Meng Yingxing nod, Lin Yunchuan left with his sword on his back, heading towards Daiheng Peak.
Hearing Lin Yunchuan’s last words, Xiu Qingcheng snorted disdainfully.

“Are all demons in the world evil? As I said, too narrow-minded!”
‘Xiu Qingcheng had now labeled everyone in the Tianfeng Sect, except Meng Yingxing, as sanctimonious hypocrites.’

“With such a narrow mindset, disciple, you won’t achieve much in the Tianfeng Sect. When the time comes, we’ll just run away!”

Xiu Qingcheng did not forget her original intention.

Meng Yingxing had just returned to Wuyun Peak when he bumped into Liu Chenxin, who was holding her waist and sighing.

“Oh dear…”
Liu Chenxin stumbled towards Meng Yingxing, and upon seeing him, her eyes lit up.

“Junior Brother Meng!”
She called Meng Yingxing’s name and very naturally clapped her hand on his shoulder.

Xiu Qingcheng’s brow furrowed, and with extreme speed, she tapped Liu Chenxin’s hand on Meng Yingxing’s shoulder with her sword hilt.

‘Audacious! Liu Chenxin dares to get close?!’

Liu Chenxin winced in pain, knowing it was the powerful sword spirit at work, and quickly removed her hand from Meng Yingxing’s shoulder.

“Senior Sister, what’s wrong?”

Meng Yingxing didn’t notice Xiu Qingcheng and Liu Chenxin’s little interaction just now; he only wanted to know why Liu Chenxin looked so weak.

“Ah, this, it’s nothing, just from the demon incident earlier. My waist is still hurting, hahaha.”
Liu Chenxin stammered a bit, then noticed the Ting Tian Sword’s new scabbard.

“Junior Brother Meng, you went to get the scabbard, didn’t you? Nice! It really suits your sword!”
“Oh, right, tomorrow there’s a sword-riding course offered by the Vigor Peak Sword Cultivation Steward. Do you want to go and learn?”

Because each peak in the Tianfeng Sect had people with different cultivation directions, the Tianfeng Sect would occasionally offer different classes to teach people with different cultivation paths.

For example, Liu Chenxin now felt that Meng Yingxing, who habitually used a longsword, was very suitable to learn the art of sword-riding.

“Oh? The Tianfeng Sect is actually quite thoughtful. They opened a sword-riding class at this time? Do they know you want to learn this?”

Xiu Qingcheng raised an eyebrow, admitting that the Tianfeng Sect had done another decent thing.

“Hmm… then I’ll go check it out tomorrow.” Meng Yingxing communicated to Xiu Qingcheng in his mind.
“I’ll go tomorrow, Senior Sister Liu. You should take care of your body.”
“Alright, alright, then I’ll be going now, I won’t bother you.”

After Liu Chenxin greeted Meng Yingxing, she stumbled away.
However, seeing Liu Chenxin in this state, Meng Yingxing still found it a bit strange.

“So many days have passed, why hasn’t Senior Sister Liu’s injury healed?”
“She might have been beaten up outside.”
‘Xiu Qingcheng didn’t care at all what was wrong with Liu Chenxin; she just didn’t want her to stick around.’

That evening, Xiu Qingcheng enjoyed a meal served by Meng Yingxing. After dinner, she, as promised, called Meng Yingxing to practice.

The two stood facing each other, Meng Yingxing holding the Ting Tian Sword in his hand. He couldn’t help but glance at Xiu Qingcheng’s feet.

Her seemingly soft feet, unprotected by shoes or socks, were on the ground paved with pebbles. Meng Yingxing was very curious, ‘would Master’s feet not hurt like this?’

But he also knew that a sword spirit and a human could not be generalized, so he could only keep this question to himself.

Xiu Qingcheng deftly held the spirit energy-replicated Ting Tian Sword, looking at Meng Yingxing.
Meng Yingxing took a deep breath, pointing the Ting Tian Sword diagonally towards the ground.

“Master, please bestow your teachings!”
“Good! Take this!”

Xiu Qingcheng lightly shouted, and her sword move followed immediately.
This was how Xiu Qingcheng now taught Meng Yingxing sword moves.

She fully unleashed the sword moves she was about to teach Meng Yingxing upon him.

Only by personally experiencing the terrifying aspects of a set of sword moves could one better learn them.
After a burst of murderous aura, Meng Yingxing knelt on the ground, drenched in sweat.

He remembered that the sword technique Xiu Qingcheng had just used was the very same one she had employed in her duel with the Huang Cang Demon King.

‘Heaven and earth stood in deadly silence, stars burned.’

Although Xiu Qingcheng had clearly held back her strength when facing him, Meng Yingxing’s heart still pounded wildly; he almost thought Master was preparing to kill her disciple.

Xiu Qingcheng allowed Meng Yingxing to catch his breath on the ground, while she began to explain the sword moves.

“This set of sword techniques is called the ‘Enemy Slaying Sword.’ I remember which sword master used it…”
Xiu Qingcheng tugged at a strand of hair by her cheek, pondering deeply.

“I forgot, I just remember it was a female general. This set of sword techniques was specifically created for slaying enemies, and it has only four moves.”

“Sever, Annihilate, Eradicate, Kill.”
“Actually, these moves don’t have any special meaning. That female general wasn’t very cultured; she said on the battlefield, just kill, and the names were just casually chosen.”
Xiu Qingcheng twirled a strand of hair around her fingertip, speaking as she did so.
“And the sword technique has no special sword arts or secrets. When she taught it to her soldiers, it was all by word of mouth and personal instruction.”

“Because it’s a sword move for slaying enemies, the four moves are basically all about offensive, leaving no room for defense. Later, I’ll walk you through them.”

“If you can’t grasp it, I’ll be like that female general and beat you up.”
Xiu Qingcheng said teasingly, even waving her seemingly weak fist at Meng Yingxing.

But Meng Yingxing knew that those seemingly weak hands, ‘could probably strike directly to the core, possess immense strength, and be unparalleled.’

‘His Master, a nascent sword, possessed strength to move mountains and unparalleled power!’
Meng Yingxing seemed to lack a sense of humor. Upon hearing that he would be beaten if he couldn’t learn it, he immediately became serious and respectful.

“Are you ready, disciple?”
“I’m ready!”
“I can’t hear you!”
“I’m ready, Master!”
“Wuwuwuwu~”
“?”“Less nonsense, give me your hand!”

Xiu Qingcheng’s figure flickered, appearing behind Meng Yingxing. She raised her hand and grabbed Meng Yingxing’s sword-wielding hand.

‘Teaching was her verbal instruction and personal example. Xiu Qingcheng vaguely remembered that the female general taught others this way, and she didn’t see any problem with it.’

Meng Yingxing’s nostrils caught the familiar floral scent. With Xiu Qingcheng gripping his hand, he was in a trance.
He couldn’t hear what Xiu Qingcheng was saying, but he could hear his own heavy heartbeat and feel the soft, delicate touch of Xiu Qingcheng’s hand on his.

‘Why did he always feel something was off whenever Master got so close? Was this some strange heart condition?’
‘This wouldn’t do!’
Meng Yingxing shivered and snapped back to reality, beginning to focus on learning the killing sword technique Xiu Qingcheng was imparting to him.

Only by experiencing a sword move firsthand can one feel the danger of the sword art.
Only by learning a sword move firsthand can one feel the subtlety of the sword art.
Thus, the four forms: Sever, Annihilate, Eradicate, Kill. Each move was openly murderous, with no superfluous actions.

Perhaps only those who had truly experienced life and death on the battlefield could comprehend this set of sword techniques.
During the time Xiu Qingcheng personally guided him, after several sword moves were executed, Meng Yingxing felt he had only learned the form of the sword, but completely failed to grasp its profound subtleties.

The sword moves he unleashed possessed none of Xiu Qingcheng’s power.
‘It seemed… he was going to get a beating from Master.’
Meng Yingxing closed his eyes.
