I go to HGU and I was in the same lecture as Jaeseoㅋㅋ I’m a senior, and I was retaking a general-ed class I originally took in my freshman year. Back then I swore at this professor calling him a “seed scatterer” (lol) but for the first time I felt genuine gratitude toward himㅋㅋ Anyway, when I asked if I could be the first person he ever gives an autograph to, at first he signed it like he was signing a credit card receipt. But I guess he realized it looked weird, so he rewrote it neatly, carefully writing out his nameㅋㅋ He was seriously so damn cuteㅠㅠ So yeah, I’m flexing because I’m the only one with two Jaeseo autographs^^ Yes, this is a bragging post^^

When I walked into the classroom without thinking, just like any other day, I was met with an unexpected autograph session.
Even the professor, who looked bewildered by the commotion, came over to ask for a photo and autograph after hearing someone say I was an idol—adding, with an embarrassed smile, that his daughters were fans of idols.
Once a few people started recognizing me, it didn’t stop.
No matter which class I walked into—or even when I was just moving between buildings on campus—crowds started forming around me.
Turns out a few students from the previous lecture had posted my photos on the campus community board.
Honestly, the day after the “Music Up and Down” stage aired two weeks ago, I’d pulled a hat low over my face thinking I should at least try to stay low-key.
But when no one recognized me, I relaxed and just went around normally.
I never imagined something like this would happen before the first broadcast even aired, which made the whole situation even more overwhelming.
I was worried it might get this bad even at my part-time job, but thankfully, anything scheduled in the game as “Part-Time Job” or “Training” didn’t seem to be affected.
The constant side-glances and whispered chatter that had followed me all day vanished the moment I stepped into the café where I worked.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I went into the break room to change into my uniform—only for another sigh, filled with dread this time, to escape me.
I’d remembered what was scheduled for the next day.
Returning to the broadcast station after two weeks felt unusually awkward.
It was probably because of what we’d be filming today.
As if bracing myself, I tightened my grip on the paper bag in my hand.
Despite how I felt, my body moved on instinct and found the waiting room with ease.
After a quick hair and makeup session, I went to the restroom to change into the outfit I’d brought.
It was the uniform I’d borrowed from the café after asking for permission yesterday.
As I changed into the shirt and tied the apron, a long sigh slipped out without me realizing.
When I stepped out of the restroom and returned to the waiting room, four or five contestants who were scheduled right before and after me were already gathered there.
Since all the faces were unfamiliar, I quietly took a seat at the far end and waited for my turn while mentally rehearsing the lines I’d prepared.
That was when a pair of legs suddenly stopped right in front of me.
I looked up to see who it was, and after following the long stretch upward, a familiar face came into view.
With the fluorescent lights behind him looking almost like a halo, Yeo Hyun-tae stood there.
“Do well.”
The words came out of nowhere.
I just blinked at him, unsure how I was supposed to respond, when a staff member called my name from across the room.
My turn must’ve been up.
I said okay and turned my head, only to find that Yeo Hyun-tae had already returned to his seat.
Do well?
Was he… cheering me on?
I’d never even spoken to Yeo Hyun-tae before.
Well, unless the time we exchanged a small nod in the studio counted.
Still, it wasn’t like we were close enough for him to come over and offer encouragement.
But pretending I hadn’t heard him felt rude, too.
So after hesitating a moment, I stood up and walked over to him.
“Uh… you do well too.”
Leaving behind Yeo Hyun-tae, who simply nodded with his usual unreadable expression, I hurried out of the waiting room, suddenly embarrassed by what I’d just done.
I only felt myself calming down after walking quite a while and finally reaching the filming area.
I stepped up to the white table set in front of the camera and took out the items I’d brought in the paper bag: the coffee grinder I’d borrowed from the café where I worked, and a small chalkboard I’d bought from a neighborhood stationery shop.
After arranging them and finishing the setup, the cue to start filming came, and the recording began.
I wet my lips with my tongue once, then opened my mouth.
“Welcome to Café Sim Jaeseo.
Today’s special is… my warm voice.”
