Chapter 11: A Royal Offer and a Loli’s Logic

“Thank you for your assistance, Young Hero Yue. This is a token of the royal family’s sincerity.”

Elder Huang tossed a jade slip to Yue Feng.

“Are you truly not reconsidering? The royal family deeply wronged your Yue clan back then, but they also had their extenuating circumstances.

They are willing to offer a truly sincere recompense for what happened. Yanlan City will be yours, and you may choose any princess of the royal family.”

“No, I’m accustomed to my freedom.” A princess? Yue Feng couldn’t help but recall the ‘little princess’ he had just returned. Having only just dealt with one, where would he find the time to chase after other women?

“The world is vast, and I wish to see it!”

With that, he clasped his hands behind his head and strode out.

“Alas.” Elder Huang hesitated, as if wanting to say more, but then thought better of it, his words ultimately dissolved into a sigh.

Stepping out of the tavern, Yue Feng felt the sunlight had never been as bright and gentle as it was today. He and the royal family had already discussed the division of interests long before the great war, and he was well aware of their intentions.

On the surface, it appeared that the various sects had gained immensely, yet it was all an arrangement orchestrated by the royal family.

As the largest power after the eradication of the Cloudwind Sect, the royal family desperately wished to establish absolute authority within their nation.

However, this alliance of sects had made the royal family realize the true extent of their combined strength. Even without Transcendence Realm experts, they were not a force to be easily shaken.

When the Cloudwind Sect was still active, the royal family needed the sects to unite. Now, they hoped for the sects to be a scattered mess.

The Cloudwind Sect’s properties, dispersed across the nation, would become a fatal poison to divide them.

The principle of proximity? Heh, distance was ultimately a vague concept. Who would willingly watch others reap all the benefits?

Once conflicts among the sects became inevitable, the royal family would intervene, picking them off one by one, forcing them to regurgitate everything they had consumed, principal and interest included.

‘But what does that have to do with me?’ Yue Feng’s heart was no longer set on this small eastern kingdom, whether it was the whereabouts of his mother or the pressure from Wang Yu’s identity.

‘I should hurry and buy things for Yu’er. If I return too late, Yue Cai will surely worry.’

Yue Feng, without looking back, went to search for shops that were still open, intending to stock up on some daily necessities.

“Why isn’t big brother back yet?” Yue Cai worriedly asked. “Nothing could have happened, could it?”

“How could that be? No one in this place can stop him with his strength, let alone the fact that he isn’t foolish. He’s not the type to be secretly ambushed and killed.”

Wang Yu lay sprawled on the bed, looking utterly languid, curled up in a thin blanket, a look of contentment on their face.

The bed was a slacker’s sanctuary; a slacker who didn’t lie in bed wasn’t a good slacker.

Incidentally, Wang Yu was currently sleeping naked. Yue Cai had initially planned for Wang Yu to make do with her own clothes, but unexpectedly, Wang Yu refused to move once they touched the bed, so Yue Cai had to let them be.

“That guy is probably socializing. After all, he was the instigator of this great war. Now that the fighting is over, the division of interests alone will keep him busy for a while. He’s probably feasting and drinking with others,”

Wang Yu continued, only to notice Yue Cai smiling at them. “Why are you looking at me?” they asked curiously.

“Wang Yu understands big brother’s affairs so well. I’ve always been by big brother’s side, yet I never know what he’s thinking,” Yue Cai said, sitting on the edge of the bed and tidying Wang Yu’s slightly messy black hair.

“That’s because I’m smart, not because I understand him,”

Wang Yu rested their head on the soft thigh of the young girl. ‘This is pure bliss, a lap pillow! Suddenly, transforming doesn’t seem like such a big deal. Oh gods, just let me stay this idle forever.’

Yue Cai gently caressed Wang Yu’s cheek, then suddenly spoke, “Sister Yu’er, would you be big brother’s wife?”

⊙_⊙ Wang Yu instantly perked up. ‘What’s happening? The topic changed a bit too quickly!’ Wang Yu looked up at the young girl, only to find the girl looking down at them, her eyes full of expectation.

Wang Yu almost couldn’t bear to refuse, but then quickly firmed their resolve. “No!”

“Eh? Why not?” The young girl looked at Wang Yu with some disappointment. “Is it because big brother isn’t handsome?”

Wang Yu thought about Yue Feng’s appearance and shook their head. “No.”

“Is it because big brother has no money or is weak?”

Wang Yu shook their head again. Even if he had no money before, he had earned a basketful now. As for strength, among all the people Wang Yu had met, only Shi Yang was stronger than him. Oh, Shi Yang was a ghost now, not a person, so that meant Yue Feng was the strongest.

“I know! You must dislike our low status. Yes, it was fine before, but now we’re homeless, aren’t we?” The young girl lowered her head, looking dejected.

‘What a huge misunderstanding! In my original world, I was just an ordinary college student, and after coming to this world, I had nothing.’

Seeing the young girl’s disappointed expression, Wang Yu’s heart ached. Their face flushed slightly, and they quickly waved their hands to explain, “No, no, I don’t.”

The young girl pitifully asked, “Then why aren’t you willing?”

‘I!’ Wang Yu felt like a mute who had eaten bitter coptis—unable to speak of their suffering. They realized they had been led astray by the young girl and couldn’t quite turn the situation around.

They could only say, “Matters of the heart can’t be forced. Your brother and I have only met a few times and don’t understand each other. It’s too early to talk about marriage now.”

Seeing the young girl’s half-understanding expression, Wang Yu breathed a sigh of relief. But before they could fully relax, they heard the young girl say,

“So, Sister Yu’er and big brother can get married after spending some time together to understand each other?”

‘Why is it predicated on marriage?!’ Wang Yu was almost tangled up by the young girl’s bizarre logic.

‘I can’t anymore, my head’s spinning (=_=).’ Wang Yu said, somewhat dazed,

“Well, you and your brother grew up together since childhood, you two know each other best! Your blood relation isn’t that close, so why haven’t you married your brother? If you marry him, then I’ll marry him.”

“Really?” The young girl’s face turned crimson. “I thought Sister Yu’er wouldn’t be willing, then…”

‘????? What’s going on (゜ロ゜)? What happened? It seems I’ve implicated myself and even given that twisted man a buy-one-get-one-free deal.’

At that moment, the door opened from outside. Indeed, it was our protagonist-template student, Yue Feng, who had returned. He stood outside with a silent expression, and both the young girl and Wang Yu’s eyes were wide, seemingly in a state of bewilderment.

Yue Feng’s mind was filled with question marks. Why was he being offered a one-plus-one service as soon as he returned? Honestly, the information was a bit overwhelming.

Wang Yu trembled as they pointed a finger at him. “When were you outside?”

Yue Feng felt a little guilty. “Since you said you could get married after getting to know each other.”

“!!! Ah! Big brother’s back! I’ll go make dinner!” Yue Cai ran out, her face flushed, leaving only Wang Yu and Yue Feng in the room.

Yue Feng awkwardly glanced at Yue Cai, then noticed his little loli on the bed, her hair disheveled, muttering something under her breath.

Yue Feng walked closer and heard Wang Yu muttering, “Heh heh, it’s all over. Kill him, then I’ll commit suicide.”

The low pressure emanating from the black-haired loli made even Yue Feng, a Xiantian Realm expert, feel a chill. “Haha, haha, it should be fine, right?” Yue Feng touched his nose.
