Chapter 26: A Drowsy Morning and a Curious Discovery

Wang Yu had a sleepless night, while Yue Feng, conversely, looked refreshed and invigorated. As they sat down for breakfast, Yue Feng observed Wang Yu, still half-asleep and easily handled in the young girl’s arms.

He asked, “What’s wrong with Yu’er?”

The young girl shook her head, confessing her ignorance. However, when she brought food to Wang Yu’s lips, Wang Yu, still with closed eyes, ate it in small, delightful nibbles, resembling a tiny, adorable hamster.

Yue Feng’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Yue Cai,” he said, “give her to me; I’d like to feed her for a bit.”

The young girl reluctantly passed Wang Yu to Yue Feng. “Please be careful,” she advised, “don’t let Sister Yu’er choke.”

Wang Yu remained disoriented the entire time. She vaguely perceived leaving a soft embrace and settling into a more solid one, with someone continuously stroking her head, which felt incredibly soothing.

Instinctively, Wang Yu snuggled, adjusting into a more comfortable position.

Cradling the young girl carefully, Yue Feng found her fidgeting in his arms utterly enchanting. He then emulated the young girl’s manner, beginning to feed Wang Yu.

The loli, oblivious, continued munching like a hamster.

Given the loli’s small size, she couldn’t consume much. After feeding her for a short period, Yue Feng observed that the beauty in his arms had ceased eating.

Reluctantly, he passed her back to Yue Cai, instructing the young girl to look after her.

“I’m going to book our flight for today,” Yue Feng announced. “I might return a little late, but we should be able to depart by this afternoon at the latest.”

He paused before adding, “The Royal City is quite peaceful. Once Yu’er wakes, Yue Cai, please take her to explore.”

“Alright, Big Brother,” the young girl nodded. She was presently wiping the mouth of the loli, who had just finished eating, and intended to wash her once she napped a little longer. Waking too late would not do.

Following this, Yue Feng strode out.

“Ah-woo.”

After another hour of slumber, Wang Yu was finally woken. Yawning, she was carried by the young girl to wash and tidy herself.

“Sister Yu’er, let’s go out and explore,” the young girl urged, looking at the newly awakened, rather disheveled loli. “You’ve only just arrived in this world, after all; it would be good to see more of it.”

“Alright,” Wang Yu agreed. Despite her initial desire to stay indoors and idle away the hours, she pondered the young girl’s suggestion and found it quite reasonable.

Consequently, she accompanied the young girl outdoors.

The city of this other world was remarkably lively. Perhaps due to the influence of earlier transmigrators, some architecture and customs strikingly mirrored those found on Earth.

However, none of this held any significance for Wang Yu; after all, how could a ‘salted fish’ be interested in such trivialities? What truly captured her attention were the various street snacks: sticky sugar cakes, cloud tree fruits, and primal flower honey, among others.

‘Why don’t I have an interdimensional stomach?’ Wang Yu lamented. ‘Give me Yuyuko’s stomach, and I could devour them all! No, no, self-control! Ugh, why did I eat breakfast?’

Having already consumed breakfast, she couldn’t eat much more and could only stare at the delectable treats with a forlorn gaze.

To avoid further temptation from the delicious food, she decided to move on. Her eyes soon landed on a remarkably lively area, bustling with numerous elemental beasts.

‘Is this an otherworldly pet shop?’ Wang Yu mused, then decided to ask. “Yue Cai,” she inquired, “what exactly is that place?”

The young girl followed Wang Yu’s pointing finger. “Oh, that’s the Elemental Beast Market,” she explained. “Many people go there to purchase their desired elemental beasts or pets.”

Wang Yu’s eyes sparkled. “Let’s go take a look there!”

The young girl nodded compliantly. After all, her sole purpose was to accompany Wang Yu.

Wang Yu immediately strode towards the area. The young girl quickly followed suit.

The area teemed with exotic beasts not found on Earth, ranging from ferocious creatures to incredibly cute small animals. Wang Yu, thoroughly entertained, delighted in playfully provoking the animals.

As Wang Yu playfully interacted with an elemental beast that resembled a cat but possessed two tails, the owner watched the small, black-robed figure. Judging by her voice, he deduced she was a young girl and decided to make a sale.

After all, little girls adored cute, if impractical, creatures. “Little miss,” he began, “this is a Nekomata. Isn’t it adorable? It’s also remarkably intelligent. How about taking one home?”

To be honest, Wang Yu was deeply tempted. She had always longed for a pet, but currently, she was homeless and dependent on the young girl and Yue Feng, unable to burden them further.

Furthermore, Wang Yu, not entirely devoid of cultivation, could tell this Nekomata was more for looks than utility. With a hint of regret, she turned down the owner’s offer.

Just as she was about to turn and leave, a voice called out to her.

“I’m so hungry! Could some kind soul feed this baby? I’m a national treasure; you can’t abuse a bear like this!”

!!!!!!!!!!

Wang Yu believed she hadn’t misheard; it sounded like Chinese, even Sichuanese dialect. ‘What in the world?’ she thought. ‘Are there other transmigrators besides me? But why did he refer to himself as a bear?’
