Chapter 13: The Spirit Gathering Body

Seeing the loli in his arms quiet down, Yue Feng breathed a sigh of relief. If she kept squirming, he truly wouldn’t be able to control himself.

As he inhaled the faint fragrance from her body and felt her soft form, a sudden realization struck him: he was actually reaping immense benefits.

Ignoring Yue Feng’s rich inner monologue, Wang Yu handed him *All Things Have Spirits*.

“I can read this book, but I can’t understand it,” she explained. “So, I was hoping you and Grandpa could help.”

“Oh, our young miss is rarely not arrogant, actually admitting defeat,” Yue Feng teased. “Come on, no need for master to step in. Let your brother teach you.”

He then flipped open the secret manual, page after page. Under Wang Yu’s disdainful gaze, a bead of sweat began to form on Yue Feng’s brow.

Wang Yu raised an eyebrow. “Big brother, can you even do it?”

Yue Feng closed the book, his expression solemn. “Simple. You go to sleep first, get some rest. I’ll explain it properly to you tomorrow.”

‘Good heavens, who wrote this? I can’t make head or tail of it. I’d better ask Master later,’ Yue Feng thought, guiltily averting Wang Yu’s gaze.

“‘Brother,’ you say? You’re just a little brother!” Wang Yu retorted, flipping him the middle finger.

‘You dare provoke me? It seems this loli doesn’t understand her position,’ he mused. ‘She’s currently in my arms, after all.’

A faint smile played on Yue Feng’s lips as he reached out his ‘sinful’ hands toward Wang Yu.

“What do you want to do!” Wang Yu tried to dodge, but there was no extra space in Yue Feng’s embrace.

Yue Feng began to caress the loli’s adorable little face, savoring the wonderful sensation for quite a while before finally letting go.

Ignoring Wang Yu’s murderous glare, Yue Feng spoke with a straight face. “Where did you dig up this book? It’s filled with unknown symbols. I think someone conned you.”

Wang Yu snorted. “This book needs to be translated using the language of my hometown. Of course, you wouldn’t understand it.”

Yue Feng was speechless. “Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

“Who was it that interrupted me before I even finished speaking just now?” Wang Yu glared fiercely at Yue Feng.

Yue Feng awkwardly rubbed his nose. “I just didn’t think of it.”

“Alright, enough fooling around,” Wang Yu said impatiently. “I’ll translate it for you. Let Elder Shi listen too. This was written by a senior from my hometown. Perhaps Elder Shi might know who wrote it.”

“Go ahead, girl, I’m listening,” Shi Yang’s resonant voice boomed.

Wang Yu then began to explain everything little by little to Yue Feng and Shi Yang. The entire book didn’t actually contain much content, and Wang Yu finished translating it in no time.

After listening, both Yue Feng and Shi Yang fell into a profound silence. It wasn’t until Wang Yu grew a little impatient that Yue Feng slowly spoke.

“Master, this cultivation method seems completely different from any I’ve ever encountered before.”

“It is very different, even to the point of being a reversal of traditional cultivation methods,” Shi Yang said, his eyes gradually becoming solemn. “Generally, cultivators wishing to practice are divided into three stages.

“The first stage involves drawing the primordial energy of heaven and earth into the body, refining oneself, and allowing the body to adapt to the primordial energy, corresponding to the Post-natal Realm.

“The second stage is to use one’s body as a vessel, refining the heaven and earth’s primordial energy for one’s own use, allowing for external projection of primordial energy, corresponding to the Pre-natal Realm.

“The third stage is to temper the divine consciousness, visualizing primordial energy with divine consciousness, and imbuing it with various attributes. The subsequent realms are all continuous enhancements of this third stage.

“But this cultivation method is completely different,” Shi Yang continued.

“Its first step is actually to temper the divine consciousness. It uses the power of divine consciousness to forcibly give form to external primordial energy, domesticating it for one’s own use.

“This book refers to this primordial energy, which has form and even consciousness, as ‘Spirit.’ Then, the Spirit and the cultivator form a contract through divine consciousness, parasitizing within the cultivator’s body.

“The cultivator can then use the Spirit as a medium and divine consciousness as a furnace, drawing external primordial energy into the divine consciousness furnace, refining the turbid primordial energy into incredibly pure spiritual power, thereby strengthening both the cultivator and the Spirit.”

Yue Feng’s face was filled with astonishment.

“That’s insane! Without refining the body with primordial energy, the body simply won’t have enough strength to contain divine consciousness! Let alone store primordial energy—the body would just explode!”

His shock was not unwarranted; it was simply too shocking and unconventional.

Shi Yang was silent for a moment before speaking.

“Yes, normally that’s the case. However, little Yue, some people are born beloved by heaven and earth. They possess a physique called the Spirit Gathering Body.

This physique grants them divine consciousness far exceeding others from birth, and the quantity of divine consciousness continues to grow with age.

The only drawback is that in their early years, those with the Spirit Gathering Body must strengthen their bodies with rare delicacies, spiritual pills, and miraculous medicines.

But once a Spirit Gathering Body enters the Pre-natal Realm, it is no different from the Transcendent Realm, even surpassing ordinary Transcendent Realm cultivators. Moreover, their path afterward is much smoother than others.”

Yue Feng thought about how he had nearly died in the Pre-natal Realm to prematurely gain divine consciousness and shape primordial energy.

Now, someone could achieve it even before the Post-natal Realm, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.

“So, this is specifically prepared for those with the Spirit Gathering Body, then?” he asked helplessly.

“Yes and no. This cultivation method has another peculiar aspect: the practitioner must not have had any primordial energy enter their body beforehand.

Otherwise, the Spirit will lose control, backfiring on the practitioner and causing them to explode and die.”

Shi Yang pondered, troubled. “Even a Spirit Gathering Body couldn’t draw primordial energy into their body without refining it first, could they? Is there some other physique I haven’t considered?”

Wang Yu had been silently listening to Yue Feng and Shi Yang’s discussion the entire time, and suddenly, many things clicked into place in her mind.

‘From the sect master’s death during cultivation, to my transmigration, to the ‘useful’ Yin-Yang Grand Reversal, to the subsequent body reconstruction, and now this *All Things Have Spirits*… Isn’t this just one insidious, continuous trap?’ she thought.

‘And the sect master and I are merely the fated ones who stepped into this trap!’
