Chapter 24: A Surprising Return and an Unexpected Gift

The return trip was uneventful, and they reached the inn without incident.

“Great haul, great haul,” Xiaoke boasted, a smug grin on their face. “It’s all thanks to the magnificent Xiaoke. You should be grateful.”

“Sure, sure,” Yue Feng replied, acknowledging that this success was largely due to Xiaoke’s efforts.

As soon as Yue Feng returned, he hurried to the room shared by Wang Yu and Yue Cai, driven by excitement to share the good news. He burst in without knocking.

To his surprise, he found Wang Yu and Yue Cai in the tub, soaking and washing. Wang Yu’s face was flushed, struggling weakly, but Yue Cai held her firmly, caressing her skin with a look of contentment.

During Yue Feng’s playful teasing, Yue Cai had instructed a servant to heat water for a bath. Wang Yu never expected to be invited to bathe together. Caught off guard, Wang Yu tried to escape, but Yue Cai held her tight.

It was strange; despite Wang Yu’s enhanced strength, she couldn’t break free from Yue Cai’s grip.

“Is Yue Cai also hiding her true strength? Am I the only weak one?” Wang Yu thought bitterly as Yue Cai undressed her and pulled her into the tub. Their smooth skins touched, and Wang Yu felt her head spinning.

Yue Cai caressed Wang Yu’s flushed skin, seemingly unable to let go. “Avy, your skin is so smooth, it feels amazing. No wonder Brother likes you so much. ”

“Your words are misleading,” Wang Yu blushed, “He’s never touched me. And your skin is just as smooth, Yue Cai.” Wang Yu felt her heart racing, but she was trapped in a helpless state.

Yue Cai nuzzled Wang Yu’s soft cheek. “Avy, let’s always be together like this. It would be so wonderful.”

“I-” Wang Yu was at a loss for words when she heard the door creak open. She turned to see Yue Feng standing awkwardly outside.

“Bro! Get out!” Yue Cai cried, her face turning red. Despite her soft tone, Yue Feng quickly left, closing the door behind him.

“Yue, why do you always appear at the worst times?” Wang Yu and Yue Cai were now wrapped in bathrobes, exposing their shoulders and legs. Yue Feng’s gaze was drawn to their alluring forms. “I truly regret my actions,” he said, trying to focus on Wang Yu’s questioning.

“Do you even have any sincerity? You promised to apologize!” Wang Yu protested, swinging her small, bare feet.

“I realize my mistake,” Yue Feng admitted, “but you and Yue Cai are so beautiful, I can’t help but stare.”

“Hmph!” Wang Yu was unimpressed, but Yue Cai seemed to enjoy the compliment. “Avy, forgive him. He’s already apologized.”

“You’re too easily won over, Yue Cai,” Wang Yu sighed. “So, what’s the exciting news?”

Yue Feng eagerly presented a green gemstone to Wang Yu. “This is for you, Avy. It’s a Wind Spirit Pearl.”

Wang Yu’s eyes widened as she sensed the powerful wind energy within the pearl. Though some of its power had faded, it was perfect for her current needs.

She couldn’t help but wonder if this was the luck of the protagonist, receiving gifts even while seducing someone.

“Owner, owner, this was hard to find!” Xiaoke interjected, “We spent 10 purple stones on it. Wind Spirit Pearls are rare and usually controlled by the sacred grounds.”

“Ten purple stones!” Wang Yu knew from her experience as a sect leader that this was an enormous sum, equivalent to about a billion in her world. “Where did you get so much money?”

Yue Feng explained, “I followed Master’s advice and found a treasure trove. Among the treasures were some purple stones.”

Shi Yang, who had been silent, decided not to contradict Yue Feng, choosing instead to support his lie.

Wang Yu trusted Shi Yang’s integrity and began to believe Yue Feng’s story. If the Wind Spirit Pearl was as famous as claimed, it would be easy to verify its authenticity.

Wang Yu didn’t think Yue Feng would lie so blatantly, especially with Xiaoke’s confirmation.

Unknowingly, Wang Yu was being deceived by their combined efforts. Holding the small green pearl, Wang Yu’s expression was complex. With this pearl, she could condense the Wind Spirit and gain true self-defense capabilities.

But it was too precious, and Wang Yu felt overwhelmed. “I can’t accept it. It’s too valuable, and I’m afraid I can’t repay you.”

“Avy, please take it,” Yue Feng insisted, “I have no use for the pearl, and I’m not in a hurry for you to repay me.” Originally, Yue Feng had intended to give it to Wang Yu outright, but he knew she wouldn’t accept, so he changed his approach.

Wang Yu hesitated, but with encouragement from Xiaoke and Yue Cai, she finally accepted it. “I will repay you, no matter what,” Wang Yu promised solemnly, even if it meant selling herself.

Seeing Wang Yu accept the pearl, Yue Feng smiled triumphantly, signaling his victory to the others.

The celebration continued.
