“B-boss, that kid has stopped moving,” the subordinate tracking Yue Feng and his group said, a hint of confusion in their voice. “It seems… they’re waiting for us.”
“What the hell! This kid is so arrogant!” The boss’s eyes widened. “I’ll teach him a lesson he won’t forget.”
At this moment, Yue Feng stood bored in an open field, still some distance from the royal city.
‘They’re taking their sweet time,’ he mused. ‘Haven’t they considered that if I ran at full speed, they’d only be eating my dust?’
The moment Yue Feng emerged from the black market, he sensed eyes on him.
He deliberately slowed his pace, curious to see who it was. Sure enough, the person followed.
After a few intentional probes, Yue Feng had a clear idea of his pursuers.
“There’s always some scoundrel trying to harm me,” Yue Feng muttered, shrugging his shoulders in exasperation.
“Hehe.” Xiaoke wore a cunning grin. “How wonderful! In this desolate place, there won’t be anyone too formidable. It’s the perfect opportunity to strike it rich.”
“Forget it. I’ll humor these small fries for a bit.” With nothing much to do, Yue Feng decided to make the first move.
The subordinate, who had just finished communicating with his boss, felt a sudden chill down his spine. A hand pressed onto his shoulder.
He trembled as he turned, only to see Yue Feng smiling benignly at him.
Yue Feng greeted him warmly, “Hello there, little brother.”
The subordinate replied stiffly, “Hello, ah!” He barely finished speaking before Yue Feng’s punch sent him sprawling.
A mere bandit, barely having entered the Post-Heaven Realm, didn’t even qualify to be a warm-up for Yue Feng.

“Damn it, he’s too arrogant!” The boss, leading the rest of his subordinates, rushed to the scene.
He found a young man sitting atop his subordinate, who was now battered and bruised. Seeing them arrive, the youth even dared to whistle.
“Even a clay figure has three points of anger! He clearly doesn’t see us as human!”
“Oh, you finally arrived.” Yue Feng patted his leg and stood up, glancing at the bearded man before him. “A Pre-Heaven Realm expert, not bad.”
“You know I’m in the Pre-Heaven Realm and still dare to be so arrogant?” The bearded man glared at the leisurely young man. “Truly, a newborn calf fears no tiger. I’ll beat you until you cry for your daddy!”
The words had barely left his mouth when a fist imprinted itself on his face. He flew backward, tumbling over ten meters across the ground.
His subordinates, standing around him, were stunned into silence.
“You scoundrel, you ambushed me!” The bearded boss scrambled to his feet. “Are you even a man? To ambush someone!”
“It’s simple: villains die because they talk too much.” Yue Feng cast a disdainful glance at him. “If you don’t even understand such basic logic, I have no desire to waste more words on you.”
“Good kid, let’s go again!” The bearded man, his face contorted in fury, raised his fist. “Let’s see how hard my fists are!”
The bearded man was a rogue cultivator, having learned no specific cultivation techniques. His cultivation was forged through countless robberies.
Though he had acquired many Origin Stones and spirit herbs, he lacked any proper cultivation manuals or secret arts. Through his own crude efforts, he had indeed devised a rudimentary martial skill.
This technique involved temporarily concentrating all his Origin Energy into one hand, then unleashing it in an instant. Due to its incredible speed, he had ambushed many skilled opponents with this move.
“Kid, take this!” The bearded man struck out with confidence. He was certain this young master, whose cultivation was surely built on family resources, couldn’t withstand this blow.
He had already begun to imagine Yue Feng kneeling and begging for mercy. This prodigal son must be rolling in wealth.
Alas, reality and fantasy often diverge. Yue Feng was indeed rolling in wealth, but it was the bearded man’s fist that wasn’t hard enough.
Yue Feng, seeing the charging bearded man, neither dodged nor evaded. With a flicker of interest, he too raised his fist to meet the blow.
He had, after all, been personally taught by Shi Yang, a practitioner of the Imperial Extreme Realm.
With a resounding crack, the bearded man felt as if his hand had collided with diamond. The bones in his hand shattered instantly, and his body was sent flying backward.
This time, however, he landed face-first, plowing another dozen meters through the dirt.
“Sigh, it seems this is your limit.” Yue Feng stretched his limbs. “I’ve had my fun. It’s time to send you on your way.”
“Wait, I have one more move!” The bearded man jumped up. “This is my famous ultimate technique!”
“Oh?” Yue Feng’s interest was piqued. “Show it then.”
The bearded man gathered all his momentum, breathing heavily. He suddenly leaped into the air, performing several rolls.
Then, with the ferocity of a tiger descending a mountain, he landed with a thud, all four limbs touching the ground.
He knelt before Yue Feng in a dogeza pose. “Young Hero, no, Daddy, spare my life! I have elders above, children below, and a bunch of brothers in between to feed and clothe!
“My life is hard, wah!” He burst into tears before Yue Feng, even tugging at his pants.
‘!!!’ To be honest, Yue Feng had met countless people since he began cultivating, considering himself quite worldly.
But now, he felt his understanding of humanity had been refreshed once more. He had never encountered such a shameless person.
“Get up, don’t grab me!” Yue Feng tried to distance himself from the man, but the bearded boss clung desperately to Yue Feng’s leg, refusing to let go.
“Get up! If you get up, we can talk. Otherwise, I’ll just finish you off.”
“Oh, alright, Daddy.” The bearded man stood up and obediently moved to the side.
Yue Feng composed himself and said, “You can be spared the death penalty, but I’ve waited for you for so long. Surely you should show some appreciation?”
“Oh!” The bearded man understood. “You mean, a ransom? I get it, I get it.”
“These are our savings for today. Please accept them with a smile.” The bearded man respectfully handed Yue Feng a storage bag (a lower-grade version of a space ring, a daily item for cultivators developed by the Heavenly Palace).
Yue Feng opened the storage bag and glanced inside, then sighed. “It seems your awareness isn’t high enough. Prepare yourself. It’s time to go.”
“No, Daddy!” The bearded man said with a fawning expression. “I grabbed the wrong one, the wrong one!”
He turned and fiercely slapped his subordinate’s head. “What are you doing? Don’t you have any sense? Go get all our savings!” The subordinate quickly handed over several storage bags, presenting them to Yue Feng.
Yue Feng examined them, then nodded in satisfaction. “Very good. You’re quite rich, kid.”
The bearded man’s eyes lit up, sensing a chance. He was about to offer more compliments when he suddenly heard his magical pet, which had been silent until now, speak.
“Master, his clothes are quite nice. Better than yours. They must be enchanted.”
The bearded man’s face stiffened. He saw Yue Feng looking at him with an unfriendly expression. Without the slightest hesitation, the bearded man swiftly stripped off his elemental robe.
He folded it neatly and respectfully presented it to Yue Feng. “I’ve wanted to offer this to you, Daddy, since earlier. I was just afraid you’d dislike it, so I hesitated. Please accept it.”
Yue Feng collected the clothes and the storage bags, nodding in satisfaction. “You’re a good person.” He then ignored them and sped towards the city.
Only the bearded man and his group remained, standing stiffly in the cold wind.
“Boss, did your daddy leave?” A subordinate stepped forward and asked the bearded man.
“Your daddy!” The bearded man immediately pinned the subordinate to the ground and began hitting him. “I think your clothes are quite nice. Hand them over!”
“No!” The subordinate’s miserable cries echoed through the night, so desolate, so sorrowful.
