Chapter 25: The Stone Spirit Physique and a Precious Token

Wang Yu accepted the Wind Spirit Orb with a complicated expression. She felt as though she had stumbled into a loan shark’s scam, yet there was nothing she could do. ‘My heart aches so much,’ she lamented inwardly.

“Cai’er, this is for you.”

Yue Feng handed Yue Cai a necklace adorned with a beautiful brown Origin Stone. This was one of the spoils he had acquired from the black market. Its true value lay in its unique property: it required no spiritual energy from the wearer.

With just a faint thought, the protective barrier embedded in the necklace could be activated, capable of withstanding a full-force attack from a Transcendent Realm expert for a short duration.

It was likely the most valuable item in the black market, second only to the Wind Spirit Orb.

Wang Yu finally voiced the question that had been lingering in her mind. “Isn’t Cai’er a cultivator? Her strength feels even greater than mine.”

Yue Feng listened, then offered a wry smile. “Cai’er possesses a natural Stone Spirit Physique. This constitution grants her extraordinary innate strength.”

“However, it also repels any spiritual energy from entering her body, and even Master is unaware of a solution.”

“I see. Cai’er, I’m sorry.”

Wang Yu felt that her question might have caused the young girl some pain.

“It’s alright, Sister Yu’er,” the girl reassured her. “Even if I can’t cultivate, you and Brother have never disliked me. And I can still help you both, can’t I?”

Still, Wang Yu felt a pang of regret for Yue Cai. Just then, Xiaoke suddenly spoke up.

“Can a Stone Spirit Physique not cultivate? I remember the Hundred Flowers Valley Master, who also had a Stone Spirit Physique, didn’t hesitate to beat up Haotian whenever he misbehaved.”

Yue Feng and Wang Yu froze for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise, “A Stone Spirit Physique can cultivate?”

Shi Yang, too, was hearing this for the first time, as the previous Hundred Flowers Valley Master had already gone into seclusion by the time he began his journey.

“Does the Hundred Flowers Valley, one of the Sacred Lands, possess such a cultivation method? Even Haotian Daoist Venerable couldn’t deal with her?”

Xiaoke munched on the fruit on the table as they replied,

“There was a way to deal with her, yes, but Haotian always said that even if he won, it was only after a severe beating. It was just too much trouble to win, so he might as well not resist.

At least then the beating would be lighter. Anyway, he and that Valley Master were good friends, and every time she beat him, it was because he’d acted foolishly and was in the wrong.”

“What is that cultivation method called?” Yue Feng asked impatiently.

“How would I know?” Xiaoke pondered. “Haotian wasn’t interested in that at all, so he never asked.”

‘He’s only interested in how to turn his best friend into a girl,’ Wang Yu thought fiercely to herself. “So, does that mean if Cai’er enters the Hundred Flowers Valley, everything will be fine?”

Shi Yang frowned. “It’s not that simple. The fact that even I haven’t heard of it proves that such a cultivation method isn’t easily obtained. Moreover, the Sacred Land, Hundred Flowers Valley, isn’t so easy to enter.”

Wang Yu glanced at Xiaoke, then pulled them closer. “Do you have a way for Cai’er to become a disciple of that Hundred Flowers Valley Master?”

Xiaoke shook their head frantically. “While I have a lot of influence, it’s limited to the people I know. A thousand years have passed now; I estimate everyone else besides the Valley Master from back then has passed away. I can’t even meet that Valley Master.”

“What about this, then?” Yue Feng produced a token bearing the imprint of a pagoda.

“I received this when I inherited Master’s legacy. It must have been given to me by Master’s old friend. He said he once helped these Sacred Lands tremendously, and with this token, they would do one thing for him without asking for anything in return, as long as it didn’t violate their principles.”

Shi Yang gazed at the token with a complex expression, but ultimately remained silent.

The young girl repeatedly waved her hands. “That token is so precious; using it on me would be too wasteful.” Suddenly, a thick, large hand gently stroked her head, stopping her from speaking further.

“No, it isn’t,” Yue Feng said gently. “This token isn’t even one ten-thousandth as precious as you are. This matter is settled; I won’t hear any objections from you.”

The girl was so moved she was almost in tears. She no longer refused, instead tightly embracing Yue Feng and Wang Yu. “It’s truly wonderful to have met you both.”

With the issue of the girl’s inability to cultivate resolved, Yue Feng felt as if a mountain had been lifted from his heart. His mind felt exceptionally clear. After dividing the other spoils with Wang Yu and Yue Cai, he returned to his room.

“Master, I feel like Yu’er is truly my lucky star. Since meeting her, I feel my entire fortune has improved.” Yue Feng tossed and turned on his bed, unable to sleep.

“You,” Shi Yang shook his head. “You’re already so pleased. You’ll likely have even more surprises in the future.”

“Hehe, I’m looking forward to the future more and more,” Yue Feng said excitedly.

Wang Yu was also unable to sleep. The young girl and Xiaoke were already asleep. She lay in bed, toying with the Wind Spirit Orb, her emotions exceedingly complex.

After all, this was the first time someone had given her such a significant gift. Regardless of how much Yue Feng had spent to acquire it, the value of this gift was undeniable.

“Ah, I can’t sleep.” Wang Yu’s mind was consumed by this matter. “You’ve certainly succeeded in making me remember you. How should I treat you, exactly?”

To say she wasn’t moved would be a lie. She could also feel Yue Feng’s sincerity towards her, and she was probably falling for him a little herself now.

She wasn’t one to run from her feelings, but she used to be a man. Although she didn’t mind it herself, as her life’s goal was merely to be a ‘salted fish’—to float along happily and live a joyful life.

Her transformation didn’t affect her ability to play games, eat delicious food, watch beautiful things, or buy what she wanted.

But what about Yue Feng? Would he care? Would he feel disgusted? Would they go their separate ways once he knew the truth?

A myriad of thoughts churned in Wang Yu’s mind, leaving her feeling distraught. ‘Sigh, thinking so much is useless. I’ll just find a suitable time to tell Yue Feng.

Being honest is better than keeping it hidden. Whatever the outcome, I’ll be mentally prepared.’
