Chapter 26: A Slap of Justice

On Tuesday, Bai Yuliang rose exceptionally early.

He had expected to be the first to arrive at the classroom, yet as he opened the door, he found Qichuan Feng leaning against the wall, a melancholic expression on her face, her gaze fixed outside the window.

“You’re quite early,” Bai Yuliang remarked, a rare greeting from him.

“Mm.”

Ordinarily, Qichuan Feng would not have responded, but ever since the last ‘Death Hide-and-Seek’ assignment, her attitude towards him had softened considerably.

However, after acknowledging him with a nod, she said nothing more, her eyes still lost in thought as she stared out the window.

Curious about what had captured her attention, Bai Yuliang approached, following her gaze outwards.

The morning sunlight pierced through the thick, white fog, illuminating the world outside with clarity. Students, clad in elegant uniforms, streamed into the school through the main gate, their faces alight with varying degrees of relaxed smiles, a truly enviable sight.

“How wonderful,” Bai Yuliang sighed, “Those students are far luckier than us.”

“Mm…” Qichuan Feng’s voice was tinged with sorrow. “I used to be like them, full of anticipation for a new day at school.”

But because of these death assignments, everything had changed.

Bai Yuliang chose not to voice the obvious continuation of her thought.

“Oh, come on, at your age, you shouldn’t be making faces like an old person. Think of something happy instead.”

“Happy things?”

“Like the news yesterday evening in the class group chat about Yuto Kirigaya completing his assignment!” Bai Yuliang declared, giving a thumbs-up with a comical expression. “Tsk, tsk, that Teacher Matsui even commented in the group, saying that while the assignment was highly completed, taking two hours was still too long, and he hoped Maruta Tsuchiya would reduce the time next time he helped.”

“Ah… honestly, I still haven’t understood what that meant from yesterday until now.” Qichuan Feng’s delicate brows furrowed slightly. “Do you know, Yuliang-kun?”

This time, it was Bai Yuliang’s turn to be stunned. He looked at the innocent, childlike face before him and simply couldn’t bring himself to utter the phrase, ‘Racial talent is truly amazing.’

He hadn’t expected the usually arrogant Qichuan Feng to be so oblivious about certain matters. No wonder she had been so nervous she was almost in tears during their last kiss.

Bai Yuliang opted to preserve her innocence, so he casually made an excuse to change the subject. He then returned to his seat, awaiting the day’s death assignment.

Students gradually filled the classroom. Almost no one dared to be absent, for with daily assignments to complete, no one gambled on not being chosen that day.

However, what was perplexing was that Kirigaya-kun and Tsuchiya-kun were both absent even after the bell rang.

“What’s going on with those two? Did they really hook up?”

“Did Kirigaya really awaken his inner feminine side?”

“Damn, he spent two hours on the assignment yesterday, and he’s still coming today? Does he have a death wish?”

Just as everyone was buzzing with speculation, Yuto Kirigaya appeared at the classroom door.

As all eyes converged on him, expressions of sheer astonishment bloomed on everyone’s faces.

He was seated in an electric wheelchair, his complexion deathly pale.

Without uttering a single word, he silently maneuvered his wheelchair to his seat.

No one dared to speak, but many students seemed to recognize the electric wheelchair as belonging to a certain men’s clinic, renowned for its specialized treatment of prolapse.

“Hey, Yuto-kun, do you know about Maruta, he…”

“That bastard was beaten into the hospital by people I hired!” Yuto Kirigaya snarled, his face grim.

“Ah! No way!”

“Kirigaya-kun, how could you? Maruta-kun only saved you because…”

“Saved me?!” Yuto Kirigaya shrieked, his face contorted in a grotesque sneer. “Do I look like someone who’s been saved right now?! Do you know how much I’ve been shamed? The entire school is saying I’m a slut now! I’m ruined! Completely ruined!”

“My girlfriend, whom I worked so hard to get, is gone. My life is over… I might as well just die!”

“Now that I think about it, beating that dark-skinned bastard into the hospital is nothing! I wish I could slice him into a thousand pieces! All dark-skinned bastards should die! That inferior race shouldn’t exist—ahhh…”

It seemed his emotional outburst had strained his injuries. Yuto Kirigaya suddenly shuddered, his forehead slick with sweat.

At this point, the students in the class began to feel a surge of displeasure towards Yuto Kirigaya. He had been desperately begging for his life yesterday, yet after being saved, he immediately repaid kindness with ingratitude, showing not an ounce of appreciation.

He was nothing short of an animal!

“Heh heh…”

The phrase ‘inferior race’ brought some unpleasant memories to Bai Yuliang’s mind, and he couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh. To his surprise, Yuto Kirigaya heard it, drawing a murderous glare.

“Bai Yuliang, you dare laugh at me? What do you think you are? Do you think you’re any better than that dark-skinned bastard? Hahahaha…”

At this moment, Yuto Kirigaya seemed to have found an outlet for his rage, venting recklessly.

“You’re just a little half-breed from Shenzhou! You should be ashamed of the impure blood flowing in your—”

Yuto Kirigaya hadn’t even finished his sentence when Bai Yuliang grabbed a chair and, with a resounding crash, slammed it onto his head, knocking him from his wheelchair to the floor.

“Ah…”

Many in the class stared in stunned silence. Bai Yuliang typically maintained a gentle demeanor, even offering a polite smile when offended.

This was the first time they had seen him strike, and with such brutal force.

“Ah… you actually dared to ambush—”

Before Yuto Kirigaya could recover from the attack, Bai Yuliang seized him by the collar, roughly pinning him to the floor like a dog, ignoring his yelps.

“You don’t know how to be a person, do you? This Daoist will teach you!”

He raised his hand, poised to strike.

“You damn well dare—”

*Smack—*

“This first massive slap is for your ex-girlfriend. You abandoned her, wrong!”

“My father never even hit me…”

*Smack—*

“This second massive slap is for Maruta-kun. You repaid kindness with ingratitude, compounding your error!”

“I didn’t…”

*Smack—*

“This one is for those you deceived. You’re full of lies, spouting nonsense, utterly wrong!”

Before the other could speak, Bai Yuliang delivered another massive slap.

“This one, I just felt like giving you. You only dare to say such things here. If you’ve got the guts, go shout it out in Jinling, Shenzhou, and see if your little ass isn’t impaled!”

Even after that, Bai Yuliang was not appeased. He continued to mercilessly slap Yuto Kirigaya, mimicking a certain actor’s signature move, the smacks echoing loudly.

Seeing Bai Yuliang’s fierce determination, seemingly intent on slapping Yuto Kirigaya to death, several classmates rushed forward to intervene.

However, the usually meek-looking Bai Yuliang now appeared like an invincible strongman; even eight people couldn’t pull him away.

Finally, Bai Yuliang himself felt a little tired. He simply tossed Yuto Kirigaya onto the floor, concluding his ‘education.’

“Yuliang-kun, you’ve gone too far.”

“Gone too far?” Bai Yuliang scoffed. “I think I did exactly what was right.”

“You… you certainly have reason to be angry, but you’ve knocked Kirigaya-kun unconscious. Doesn’t that make it even?”

The classmate who had intervened pointed at Yuto Kirigaya, who lay on the ground, his face swollen like a pig’s head.

“Heh heh, it’s not even. It’s just that I’ve let him off,” Bai Yuliang said coldly.

“You… did you really have to do this to him?” the classmate asked, their face etched with a complex expression.

“Have to? You ask me if I ‘have to’? Heh heh heh…”

Bai Yuliang let out a few cold laughs, then adopted an expression of unprecedented seriousness.

“I, Bai Yuliang, am a friendly person, but that doesn’t mean I have no bottom line. And what Kirigaya touched today was the bottom line of all Shenzhou people.”

“I’m not a nationalist, but I only know this: if someone rides over my head, and I don’t give them a taste of a big slap, then I truly would, as he said, be ashamed of the blood flowing in my veins.”

“The thirty-eight massive slaps I gave him today are to make him remember this pain well, so that later, when he wants to do something idiotic, he’ll remember that a Shenzhou grandpa once beat him soundly! That way, he won’t be so depraved again!”

“Above, are my reasons!!!”
