Chapter 9: The Price of Kindness

“Haha… what if I say I’m sorry now?” Mo Liang’s voice trembled so hard she could barely string a sentence together.

She was genuinely scared. The Jiang Qing in front of her was even more terrifying than Xu Lingxue. Xu Lingxue was at most a pervert, but Jiang Qing had become a full-blown madwoman.

“Really, I really know I’m wrong.”

Her whole body shook uncontrollably, and she silently prayed that someone would walk by this alley.

Jiang Qing didn’t answer. Instead, she buried her face in Mo Liang’s hair, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.

“Oh? Sister, what exactly did you do wrong?”

“I shouldn’t have broken up with you…”

“Shut up.”

She was cut off before she could finish.

Mo Liang clamped her mouth shut so tightly she didn’t dare breathe loudly.

Then a cold touch came from her waist.

“Ah…”

Mo Liang couldn’t help but cry out softly. Tears surged out, burning her face until it was bright red. She tried to struggle, but the hands gripped her even tighter, pressing her firmly against the rough wall of the alley.

“Don’t… we’re still outside… I’m begging you…”

“Hmm? Be good, Sister Mo Liang.”

Jiang Qing bent down and kissed her, swallowing all her whimpers and pleas.

She looked up at Mo Liang’s tear-streaked face, her eyes a swirling mix of hatred and something else.

She simply wanted to see this person destroyed by her own hands.

“Mmm…”

Tears kept streaming down Mo Liang’s face as she trembled in Jiang Qing’s arms.

Jiang Qing’s assault finally ended.

Mo Liang collapsed against the wall, gasping for air, almost thinking she was going to die right there.

“Let’s leave it here for now, Sister Mo Liang. Don’t try to run away. Remember to add me back.”

“Otherwise… I think I know where your hometown is, right? Your little sister is quite cute.”

Jiang Qing took half a step back and tilted her head to look at Mo Liang, her flush not yet faded, her smile so sweet it sent chills down one’s spine.

“Don’t say that! I understand!” Mo Liang nearly shouted, her chest heaving violently.

What could she do against such a maniac? Go to the police?

By the time the other party got out of the station, her little life would probably be over.

Looking at the madness swirling in Jiang Qing’s eyes, she didn’t doubt for a second that she meant every word.

In the end, she gave up all thoughts of resistance and obediently let herself be pulled back into the other’s arms.

“Alright, I still have things to do.”

Jiang Qing reluctantly let go, planted a soft kiss on Mo Liang’s forehead, then turned and walked toward the alley’s exit.

She needed to thank Xu Lingxue. Or maybe she should continue negotiating with her? Then the two of them could lock this cute little pet into the basement, the three of them, together forever.

Mo Liang leaned against the wall, watching Jiang Qing’s figure disappear at the end of the alley, and shuddered again.

If she knew what the other was thinking, she would probably burst into tears on the spot.

“Wuwu…”

Mo Liang slid down the wall and buried her face in her knees.

She had only wanted to help that person. How had it come to this?

She sobbed and looked down to see that the pajamas Shen Zhiyi had lent her were already wrinkled.

Good thing she had put on a jacket when she came out.

She bit her lip and tremblingly straightened her clothes, her fingers still shaking.

She now desperately wanted to find Shen Zhiyi. It seemed that only that white-haired older sister wouldn’t bully her, wouldn’t pinch her, wouldn’t press her against a wall and grope her.

At that thought, tears welled up again. She quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand.

Don’t cry, don’t cry. She took several deep breaths, forcing herself to suppress her emotions and clean the tear tracks from her face. But her eyes were still red, and the signs of crying couldn’t be hidden.

She held onto the wall and slowly stood up, her legs still trembling. Why was this body so sensitive? Just a few touches and it went weak, making it hard to stand. So embarrassing.

Mo Liang lingered in the alley for a while longer until her legs regained strength and most of the blush faded from her face. Then she zipped up her jacket and walked out of the alley with her head down.

At nine in the evening, Mo Liang appeared at the restaurant entrance on time. There were few customers left inside. Shen Zhiyi was clearing up the last table. When she saw the familiar golden little head peeking through the glass door, a smile unconsciously curved her lips.

“Let’s go.”

Shen Zhiyi changed out of her work uniform and came out, her tone as flat as ever.

But she quickly sensed something off. Today’s Mo Liang was even clingier.

The moment they met, she pressed close to Shen Zhiyi, their arms nearly touching. As they walked, their shoulders occasionally brushed. Shen Zhiyi sighed inwardly but didn’t push her away. She told herself to treat her like an extra sister.

The two arrived at a KTV that Liu Yun had booked. It was fairly well-known in A City, and many young people chose it for their birthday celebrations.

A row of receptionists stood by the entrance, all above average in looks, dressed in uniform black and white, looking quite impressive.

When they pushed open the private room door, quite a few people were already inside.

Liu Yun had changed out of her waiter uniform into casual clothes, her striking red hair especially conspicuous under the dim lights.

The person sitting next to her was presumably her boyfriend, rather ordinary-looking.

A few others were scattered on the sofas, probably friends they had brought along.

“Zhiyi, over here!”

Liu Yun waved enthusiastically when she saw them enter, then scooted over to make room for Shen Zhiyi.

“Is Mo Liang here too?”

Mo Liang nodded and obediently followed Shen Zhiyi to squeeze in next to Liu Yun.

The spot Liu Yun had reserved for Shen Zhiyi was barely enough for one person. With Mo Liang added, the two of them were practically pressed together into a single unit.

The sofa was too narrow. Half of Mo Liang’s butt was hanging off, and she kept sliding sideways toward Shen Zhiyi, almost ending up in her lap.

She didn’t seem to mind, even deliberately rubbing closer to Shen Zhiyi.

But Shen Zhiyi was not so relaxed. Mo Liang was wearing shorts, her two thin, fair legs clearly stretched out in front of her.

Unaware of the effect she was having, Mo Liang kept pressing against her, her warm body heat seeping through the thin fabric. Shen Zhiyi instinctively looked away, her throat suddenly dry.

She dropped her gaze and met Mo Liang’s clean, innocent eyes.

It seemed she had no idea what she was doing. Shen Zhiyi steadied herself and silently took off her own jacket to cover Mo Liang’s bare legs. After all, there were men in the room; it made sense to cover up a bit.

“You…” Mo Liang looked down at the jacket that had appeared on her legs, then up at Shen Zhiyi’s expressionless side profile. In the end, she said nothing, but her face inexplicably grew hot.
