Chapter 33: The First Meeting Place

The next morning, when Shen Zhiyi woke up, a faint bluish shadow hung under her eyes.

As expected, she hadn’t slept well all night. The culprit’s hands were still wrapped tightly around her waist. She tried to move, but the person behind her didn’t react at all, breathing evenly and deeply, sleeping soundly.

‘This little bastard, sleeping so peacefully.’

She gently pried Mo Liang’s hands from her waist. After she stood up, Little Yellow Hair had already been woken by her movement.

She lifted her face, blinked her small eyes, and looked up at Shen Zhiyi in a daze.

“Big sister, are you going to work?”

The voice was light and airy, with a sleepy nasal tone. Something in Shen Zhiyi’s chest jumped uncontrollably. It took her a while to manage a “Mm.”

‘How can this person be so cute!’

Shen Zhiyi looked away, but her peripheral vision unconsciously swept over the shoulder and neck that had been exposed by the sleeping posture. She cried out inwardly and quickly turned to walk out of the room.

If she stayed any longer, she probably wouldn’t even need to go to work today.

Behind her, Mo Liang rubbed her eyes and gave a long yawn. She tilted over and shrank back under the covers, deciding to sleep in again.

When she opened her eyes again, it was already past ten.

Mo Liang reached for her phone. As soon as the screen unlocked, a long string of red dots sat in the message bar.

At the top was Mo An’an’s message.

Ever since she’d pushed the alt account, Mo Liang hadn’t paid any attention to the other party’s messages.

But Mo An’an had still sent her a pile of messages. She skimmed through them and found none worth replying to, so Mo Liang decided not to reply.

Then she casually switched back to the alt account and tapped to accept Mo An’an’s friend request.

When she switched back to her main account, she continued scrolling and found Jiang Qing’s message.

The other party asked to meet her at one in the afternoon at a restaurant.

Mo Liang thought for a moment and replied with “OK.”

She’d actually wanted to say something to Jiang Qing face to face: that Mo An’an should move to the Qingchuan High School dormitory, rather than continue living with this crazy woman.

After sending the message, she stared at the restaurant name for a few seconds. The more she looked, the more familiar it seemed. Wasn’t this the place where she and Jiang Qing had first met?

She gave a soft laugh. Even now, she still picked a place like this. This woman truly couldn’t forget their past.

She suddenly felt a little curious.

If Xu Lingxue knew that Jiang Qing still harbored other feelings for her, could these two still stand together as calmly as they did now?

The best outcome would be the two of them biting each other like dogs while she sat nearby watching the show.

But the moment that thought appeared, she pushed it back down. If she really told Xu Lingxue, she’d probably be the one to suffer in the end.

Forget it, no point thinking about it.

She opened a food delivery app and randomly ordered something. She couldn’t be bothered to go out and buy food.

After breakfast, Mo Liang checked the time on her phone. It was only half past ten.

There were still two and a half hours until the agreed one o’clock. Then it should be reasonable for her to be half an hour late, right?

She could just make up an excuse when the time came. The more she thought about it, the smarter she felt. So Mo Liang dawdled, dragging things out until nearly half past one before she appeared at the restaurant entrance.

It was a very ordinary restaurant. At this hour, there weren’t many customers, and the few scattered tables were all seated far apart.

So she spotted Jiang Qing at a glance.

The other party sat in the most remote corner, wearing a small white dress, black hair smoothly tucked behind her ears, both hands holding her phone, waiting quietly. She looked obedient and pure. Mo Liang sneered at the entrance. This outfit was exactly the same as when they first met.

‘She really knows how to put on a show! How ridiculous!’

She’d dug out that outfit and put it on. What was she trying to do?

Was she trying to evoke her memories and wait for her to soften and apologize? Mo Liang sneered inwardly. She wouldn’t apologize, and she would never feel regret.

The only thing she might regret was why Jiang Qing’s girlfriend had to be Xu Lingxue.

If it were any other ordinary person, she probably would have forgotten trash like this in a few days, right?

When they met again, after the other party saw her, she could raise her chin and ask.

“Sorry, who are you?”

Just imagining that scene felt incredibly satisfying.

Unfortunately, it was only imagination. Mo Liang reluctantly walked over and sat down across from the other party.

Only then did Jiang Qing look up from her phone. Her face held a little-girl happiness, mixed with a hint of complaint, as if asking why she was so late.

Her gaze fell softly on Mo Liang, but it made the back of Mo Liang’s neck go cold. She quickly forced out a sincere expression.

“Sorry, I ran into something on the way and got delayed a bit.”

She wasn’t brain-damaged. She knew the person across from her was a lunatic, so why would she deliberately provoke her? That would be seeking death.

‘What a small fry, making me wait here so long, how pitiful.’

She only dared to say such things in her heart. If she actually said them, the next second she might be dragged into some empty alley.

Honestly.

She already had a psychological shadow about alleys. Even on the way here, she deliberately avoided any alley she saw, afraid of running into something dirty.

“Mm, then I forgive you.”

The other party’s voice was very gentle, but Mo Liang only felt a chill. After all, Jiang Qing’s favorability in her heart had long been negative, so negative there was no room to drop further.

If she compared her to a wild dog on the street, Mo Liang would rather risk being bitten to pat the wild dog’s head than touch a single finger of this person.

“From Mo Liang’s expression, it seems you really hate me?” Jiang Qing propped her chin on her hand and stared at her eagerly, her tone carrying a bit of grievance.

“Huh? You actually noticed? How embarrassing.” Mo Liang didn’t hold back at all and admitted it openly.

The light in Jiang Qing’s eyes dimmed, but the corners of her mouth still curved. She muttered softly.

“You’re really direct.”

“Tch, what exactly do you want from me?” Mo Liang had no mood to beat around the bush with her and let obvious impatience into her tone.

She might not have realized it herself, but ever since she’d become a girl, she’d become more of a bully who feared the strong and picked on the weak. Now that Jiang Qing was acting like a weak girl, Mo Liang naturally felt less wary of her.

If the person in front of her were still as crazy as before, she’d probably be apologizing with red eyes and begging for mercy by now.

Unfortunately, the other party wasn’t like that! So Mo Liang dared to hiss at her boldly.

That’s how people are. When you’re weak, they’re strong. Mo Liang was even more so.

“Let’s eat first?” Jiang Qing waved to a server not far away.

A middle-aged woman trotted over, her apron stained with oil spots.

She knew Jiang Qing. After all, Jiang Qing used to work here. But the way she looked at Mo Liang seemed to carry a bit of hostility?
