Mo Liang opened the box and carefully lifted the necklace into her palm.
The chain was thin and silver-white, with a small pendant attached. It looked quite pretty.
A soft sound of footsteps came from the bedroom.
Mo Liang looked up and saw Shen Zhiyi standing at the bedroom door. She didn’t know when she had gotten there.
She wore that loose gray bathrobe. Her long white hair was a little messy around her shoulders, and her eyes still held the blur of just waking up.
She had woken shortly after Mo Liang left the bed. She turned over and found her arms empty. She was about to doze off again when she heard noise from the living room, so she got up to check.
When Shen Zhiyi saw the necklace in Mo Liang’s hand, her gaze moved to the opened box on the table, and she suddenly remembered yesterday.
Yesterday she had left work early and taken a detour to pick out this necklace. She bought a delicate little box and decorated it with a ribbon herself.
She had planned to give it to Little Yellow Hair when she got home.
But the little brat had annoyed and teased her so much that she nearly forgot all about it.
“Who were you planning to give this to?”
The other didn’t deny it, so it seemed it wasn’t a gift someone else had given Shen Zhiyi.
Mo Liang dangled the necklace in front of Shen Zhiyi’s eyes. She noticed the other wasn’t angry at all that the box had been opened. Instead, she looked flustered.
That only interested her more.
“It’s not for me, is it?”
Seeing the faint blush quickly rise on Shen Zhiyi’s face, a face that couldn’t hide anything, Mo Liang became even more certain.
She clutched the necklace in her palm, jumped off the sofa, and bounced up to Shen Zhiyi. She tilted her face up.
“Thank you, big sister!”
“You came back so early yesterday. Were you waiting at home just for me to get the gift?”
“And when I wasn’t here, you sat all alone in the dark living room, waiting all pitiful.”
“Big sister is so cute.”
“I was not.” Shen Zhiyi turned her face away, but her ears were bright red.
Mo Liang ignored her tough act. She put the necklace around her neck and leaned close, swaying back and forth. “Does it look good?”
The necklace rested on her collarbone. Shen Zhiyi’s eyes didn’t know where to settle.
They slid from the necklace to her collarbone, then moved, as if possessed, to the lips so close by. Her throat moved slightly.
“It looks good.”
She tossed out those two words and turned into the washroom. She closed the door behind her and braced both hands on the sink, looking at her flushed face in the mirror.
‘Shen Zhiyi, you’re a beast.’
She cursed herself inwardly.
The girl looked at her as a big sister, and she wanted to kiss her. Sure, Mo Liang wasn’t her real sister, but Shen Zhiyi had a girlfriend. How could she have thoughts like that?
She caught a handful of cold water and splashed her face. She wiped it hard and took a deep breath. She couldn’t do this again.
Mo Liang listened to the water running in the washroom for a long while. She wondered whether the woman was washing her face or taking a shower this early. She didn’t dwell on it for long. Today was Shen Zhiyi’s day off, a rare day without the restaurant. It was the perfect chance to drag her to that new amusement park.
She had already picked out a birthday gift online last night. It would arrive in a few days. While she was thinking it over, her stomach growled. She went downstairs and ate a bowl of noodles, then packed one to bring back.
Shen Zhiyi was already sitting on the sofa. Her cheeks still held a faint red from the cold water.
“Here, for you.”
Mo Liang pushed the takeout box toward her and sat down on the sofa.
Shen Zhiyi took the noodles and thanked her. She ate quietly.
As she ate, she muttered to herself inwardly.
This little brat actually brought her breakfast on her own. And she had just wanted to kiss her. The more she thought, the more she felt like a beast.
“Hey, hey, don’t look like you’re about to cry from being moved.” Mo Liang turned and saw Shen Zhiyi eating with her head down, eyes slightly red.
It was just a bowl of noodles she grabbed on the way. Was it really worth that?
It made her look like some irredeemable villain who had suddenly done a good deed.
“Little sister, you’re so good.” Shen Zhiyi’s voice was soft.
“Ugh, can you not be so sappy!”
Mo Liang sat up straight.
‘Who wants to be your little sister? I want to be your girlfriend!’
But she only dared say that in her heart.
“Eat your noodles. Say another word and I won’t let you eat.”
When Shen Zhiyi finally finished the last bite and set down her chopsticks, Little Yellow Hair, who had been crouching nearby waiting, immediately held up her phone.
“Look, let’s go here. You’re off today anyway.”
Mo Liang pointed at the lively amusement park ad on the screen, eyes shining.
This amusement park seemed to have opened in the last few months. It was pretty popular in A City. Liu Yun had invited her before, but she hadn’t agreed. Still, seeing Mo Liang’s face full of expectation, she finally nodded.
“Yay!” Mo Liang jumped up from the sofa.
Shen Zhiyi watched her and her lips curved without meaning to.
The two got ready quickly. Shen Zhiyi wheeled out the small electric scooter, and Mo Liang sat on the back.
The tickets had been bought online earlier. They could scan the code at the entrance and go in.
“So many people!”
Mo Liang stood at the ticket gate and looked inside. She couldn’t help but sigh. It was so hot, yet the park was still packed.
Shen Zhiyi scanned the code and naturally took Mo Liang’s hand. They entered the park.
“Let’s go on that first?”
Mo Liang pointed at the roller coaster in the distance. Shen Zhiyi looked where she pointed and nodded.
But right after they got off, Mo Liang sat on a nearby bench and threw up like she was dying. Shen Zhiyi sat beside her and patted her back gently, trying not to laugh.
“What are you laughing at?”
Mo Liang lay over the bench and looked up to see Shen Zhiyi holding back a smile. She got angry.
“Was I laughing?” Shen Zhiyi blinked and put on an innocent look.
“Hmph!” Mo Liang turned her head away. From the corner of her eye, she caught two people standing right in front of the bench.
She looked up and froze.
Zheng Xianyun and Lin Qianqian? What were they doing here?
Zheng Xianyun wore casual clothes and held Lin Qianqian’s hand. She looked at Mo Liang on the bench with a half-smile.
‘She hadn’t expected to run into this Little Yellow Hair here. What fate.’
She hadn’t forgotten how Mo Liang had extorted her in the alley yesterday. But what surprised her more was the white-haired woman beside her.
Shen Zhiyi, Su Xiaoyou’s girlfriend.
Zheng Xianyun certainly knew her, though that was from her past life.
“Hi, Sister Zhiyi.”
Lin Qianqian greeted her quietly, a trace of guilt in her voice.
She was on decent terms with Su Xiaoyou, so she naturally knew Shen Zhiyi.
If Zheng Xianyun hadn’t insisted on dragging her over to mess with this Little Yellow Hair, she really wouldn’t want to say hello under these circumstances.
