Join the ServerLu Jianglian cut him off, calling him by his full name.
“Lu Fu, if you say one more useless thing, I’m throwing you out.”
After all, Lu Fu was his younger brother whom he had watched grow up. He couldn’t be too ruthless with him, or Lu Fu wouldn’t even still be standing here talking.
Seeing that Lu Jianglian was not joking, Lu Fu immediately shut his incessantly chattering mouth.
Lu Jianglian told Lu Fu to get a broom and sweep up the cigarette butts outside the door, while he turned on the television and had Jiang Mian sit on the sofa to watch.
Once Jiang Mian was settled, he went into the kitchen to wash some fruit.
Lu Fu quickly cleaned up the doorway, then ran over to Jiang Mian and began rambling.
“You really are dating my brother? He’s getting old, so his stamina definitely can’t compare to someone young. I exercise all the time, so my stamina is pretty good. I can easily pick you up with one hand…”
[Spring has arrived, all living things are awakening, and once again it is the breeding season for animals. Deep in the mountains and forests…]
Jiang Mian had been completely absorbed in the program when Lu Fu approached him, bringing an entire cloud of cigarette smoke with him while continuing to chatter.
Jiang Mian wrinkled his nose slightly and shifted his bottom a little farther away.
After hearing what Lu Fu said, he blinked in confusion and slowly replied, “Don’t say things like that. Lu Jianglian is very strong. He can pick me up with one hand.”
“!!!”
He had already picked Jiang Mian up?
How?
What kind of way had he picked him up?
Jiang Mian looked so soft. How comfortable would it be to hold him?
Why did his brother get to have all the good things?!
Lu Fu’s eyes practically turned red with jealousy.
He pitifully edged closer to Jiang Mian.
“He’s already picked you up, so can I hug you too?”
Jiang Mian covered his nose, his voice muffled.
“You smell bad. You can’t hug me.”
Lu Fu had never suffered such humiliation in his entire life. Like a rejected dog with its tail between its legs, he backed away several steps.
Jiang Mian seemed to think of something. He cautiously studied Lu Fu before asking, “Do you not have money to buy food? I can give you some money to buy something tasty. You shouldn’t eat garbage anymore.”
Lu Jianglian had given him a lot of money. Jiang Mian had forgotten exactly how much, but he remembered there had been lots of zeroes.
Lu Fu had once had someone bring him food. Now that Jiang Mian had money, he could give Lu Fu some so he could buy things to eat.
“??”
When had he ever eaten garbage?
But what did Jiang Mian mean by this?
Was he asking for his contact information?!
Lu Fu immediately pulled out his phone. Just as he finished adding Jiang Mian’s contact, Lu Jianglian happened to come out of the kitchen.
Lu Fu guiltily hugged his phone and shrank his neck. Before Lu Jianglian could react, he slipped away and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower.
He had no choice. He smelled so strongly of smoke that he didn’t dare get close to Jiang Mian.
The moment Lu Fu entered the bathroom, he saw the matching cups and toothbrushes lined up side by side on the sink, and his teeth hurt even more.
“Go use the other bathroom.”
Lu Jianglian didn’t know when he had appeared.
Lu Fu gave a mocking laugh.
“No. I like washing here.”
If you won’t let me use this one, then I’m going to use it even more.
Lu Jianglian looked disgusted.
“You smoked that much. Are you trying to pickle this bathroom in cigarette smoke? Baby is going to take a bath here later.”
Lu Fu refused to back down.
“Do you not smoke too, Brother?!”
“I quit. Your brother-in-law doesn’t like it.”
“f*ck!”
Lu Fu cursed under his breath and ran off to wash in the other bathroom.
By the time Lu Fu finally finished showering, he discovered that everyone in the living room was gone.
Afraid that the smell of smoke hadn’t been washed off properly, he had showered several extra times until his skin was red from scrubbing.
He had also rinsed his mouth over and over again, wasting quite a lot of time.
But at most, an hour had passed. How had they all left?
There was no need to guard against him like this. Seriously, there was no need.
Lu Fu sprawled across the sofa and buried his face into it, as though he could still smell Jiang Mian’s fragrance.
He took out his phone and discovered that Jiang Mian had transferred him several payments.
Lu Fu returned the money without accepting it and instead sent some money to Jiang Mian.
Lu Fu: [I have plenty of money. Keep yours and use it to buy something delicious.]
He was rather puzzled. He had no idea why Jiang Mian had misunderstood him as being broke and eating garbage.
He waited for quite a while, but Jiang Mian neither accepted the money nor replied.
Lu Fu: [When did you get together with my brother? Do you really like him?]
Lu Fu withdrew the message.
Lu Fu: [Have you ever considered breaking up with my brother?]
Lu Fu withdrew the message.
Lu Fu: [When are you two planning to break up?]
Lu Fu withdrew the message.
Lu Fu: [What are you doing? Why are you ignoring me? Are you asleep? Good night.]
There was no response to any of them.
It was only a little after nine. It wasn’t even ten yet. There was no way they would go to sleep that early, right?
So what were they doing in the bedroom?
Lu Fu irritably opened a game, but he couldn’t concentrate at all.
After his character died several times, he simply quit the game.
At that moment, Jiang Mian was sitting on a little stool, earnestly watching a tutorial on his tablet for folding a paper cat and clumsily trying to follow along.
The video was too fast, and he couldn’t keep up. He could only rewind it and watch it again.
Lu Jianglian didn’t disturb Jiang Mian. He sat nearby reading a financial book.
It wasn’t until he heard the beginning of the video playing over and over again that he finally looked up in confusion.
“It’s too fast. You can adjust the playback speed.”
Lu Jianglian put down his book and walked behind Jiang Mian. His warm breath brushed against Jiang Mian through the thin pajamas as he slid his finger across the screen and taught him.
“This one makes the video faster. This one makes it slower. Got it?”
Jiang Mian’s soft hair rested against his forehead. Whenever he listened seriously, his long, curled eyelashes would flutter every now and then.
After watching Lu Jianglian’s demonstration, Jiang Mian nodded obediently. The dimples at the corners of his mouth appeared as he turned his head toward Lu Jianglian and quietly praised him.
“You’re so amazing. You know how to do everything.”
Lu Jianglian rubbed the tip of his nose against Jiang Mian’s dimple and praised him in return.
“Baby is very clever too. You learn things very quickly.”
Jiang Mian was praised again. He pressed his lips together and smiled shyly.
After finishing his first paper cat, he drew a little face on it with a pen and immediately ran into Lu Jianglian’s arms. Holding up the folded cat, he said softly, “Lu Jianglian, the kitty is finished.”
Lu Jianglian studied it carefully for a moment before saying seriously, “It looks even better than the one in the video. Can Baby give it to me?”
Jiang Mian handed it to him, his eyes sparkling.
“You really like it? Then I’ll fold lots and lots more for you.”
There weren’t many things he knew how to do.
Lu Jianglian liked paper folding so much, so he would fold paper for him every day.
Without realizing it, Jiang Mian had just said something incredibly romantic, yet the expression on his face remained innocent and utterly oblivious.
Lu Jianglian took the paper cat and couldn’t resist lowering his head to kiss Jiang Mian on the lips. He murmured, “I like it. As long as it’s something Baby gives me, I’ll like it.”
Jiang Mian thought he was sick again. He pursed his lips and quietly negotiated, “Can you not bite my mouth? It hurts a little.”
He held his hand up to Lu Jianglian.
“You can bite my hand instead.”
Lu Jianglian frowned at that.
He gently lifted Jiang Mian’s chin.
“Does it hurt a lot? Open your mouth and let me see. If you’re injured, we need to put some medicine on it.”
Jiang Mian obediently opened his mouth.
It was a little dark, making it difficult to see.
Lu Jianglian set the folded paper cat aside, took out his phone, and turned on the flashlight.
His thumb rested against Jiang Mian’s soft lower lip.
To see more clearly, he leaned closer. The breath he exhaled brushed against Jiang Mian’s face, making it tickle.
Jiang Mian had kept his mouth open for too long and was getting tired. With his mouth full of saliva, he mumbled indistinctly, “Is it enough now?”
Lu Jianglian released him, looking somewhat annoyed with himself.
“All right. The tip of your tongue is slightly scraped. I’ll go get some medicine.”
Jiang Mian rubbed his slightly aching cheeks and obediently nodded.
“Okay.”
The medicine tasted bitter. After applying it, Jiang Mian barely dared swallow because even his saliva tasted bitter.
His pretty little face scrunched up. With his long eyelashes raised, he looked pitifully at Lu Jianglian.
“Can I wash it off now? It’s so bitter.”
Seeing how uncomfortable he was, Lu Jianglian soothingly kissed him.
“Not yet. Wait ten minutes, then you can rinse your mouth and spit it out.”
The moment the ten minutes were up, Jiang Mian eagerly ran off to rinse his mouth.
When he returned, he discovered that Lu Jianglian, who had been reading in the chair just moments ago, was already sitting on his bed.
Jiang Mian looked at him in confusion.
“You’re not going back?”
Lu Jianglian looked completely matter-of-fact.
“I’m already your boyfriend. Why would I sleep alone?”
He picked up the still-bewildered Jiang Mian and placed him on the bed, then quickly switched off the light.
“Baby is sleepy, right? Good night.”
“Oh, okay. Good night.”
