Chapter 1: Woke Up and Became a Witch

When Jiang Cha woke up and opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was an unfamiliar ceiling…
Wait—why is it covered in black stockings?

“…?”

Her groggy brain, still booting up like a slow computer, could only produce one thing: a question mark. Her brown eyes were filled with confusion.

She didn’t remember who she was or where she came from, but basic common sense was still deeply imprinted in her mind.
And right now, according to any sane standard of logic, waking up to a pair of beautiful legs in black stockings straddling your waist was not part of normal medical procedure.

Her gaze lifted slightly.

“The sun’s so white… No, wait—that’s a really big ceiling.”

She unconsciously commented in her mind. Her eyes paused for a moment on the ceiling lights, then continued upward—following the woman’s smooth, swan-like neck—to a face that was youthful, yet faintly seductive.

The woman wore striking makeup—dark, smoky black eyeshadow that made her look like a mix between a witch and a seductress. She radiated mystery and allure with a touch of exotic flair. Her bright red lips were like flames, burning straight into the soul.

“Oof… critical hit to the weak point.”

The woman’s lips curled into a subtle smile. She gently tapped her lips with a finger—half teasing, half inviting.
But Jiang Cha just stared at her calmly, like a battle-hardened veteran, completely unshaken.

“Excuse me… and you are?”

She was surprised by her body’s subconscious reaction, but Jiang Cha quickly steadied herself and asked the question.

What does it feel like to hear your own voice for the first time—when you have no memory of it?

Honestly, it felt… foreign. Jiang Cha didn’t feel any sense of ownership over the voice that came out of her mouth. If it weren’t for the clear vibration in her vocal cords, she might have thought someone else was dubbing over her lines from a hidden corner of the room.

But she had to admit—it was a beautiful voice. Slightly husky, yet pure and sacred—like a devout nun singing a hymn.

“I’m your lover, of course!”

The woman’s voice was just as enchanting—like a siren’s song.
If she had to describe it, Jiang Cha thought, it was like a Venus flytrap: sweet nectar on the surface, but deadly inside.

“…Huh?”

Even without her memories, Jiang Cha’s instincts were intact. Her unusually sharp mind clearly sensed that this woman felt like a complete stranger—someone she had never met before.
Which was weird. Because by all common logic, someone waking up from a coma should be seeing a close friend, a doctor, or a nurse—not some sultry stranger straddling them.

Jiang Cha decided to trust her gut. She stayed on high alert, but kept her expression innocent and confused.

“Then… who am I?”

She remembered her name—but that was it.

“You’re Jiang Cha. You lost your memory in an accident. You’ve been unconscious for a week.”

A week? I’ve been out that long?

Jiang Cha quietly questioned herself, trying to match that statement with the common sense still floating in her mind—and came up with two completely different conclusions:

  • Common sense told her: No way. Someone who’s been in bed for a week should be weak, disoriented—not this strong. She felt like she could punch a dragon in the face.

  • But her brain coldly told her: Yes. You’ve been unconscious for seven days, five hours, forty-eight minutes, and thirty-four seconds.

“…And may I ask your name?”

She didn’t have enough information, so she tried to squeeze more out of this suspicious woman.

“Hehehe… No need to worry about those little details right now. You made me wait a whole week, you know… my love~”

The woman leaned down, pressing herself against Jiang Cha. Her fiery breath brushed against Jiang Cha’s lips, filling the room with an overwhelming hormonal tension.

‘Reject: this is not hormone. This is vaporized computer hardware.’

‘…What?’

That mechanical voice suddenly appearing in her mind startled Jiang Cha—but as she listened closely, she realized: it was her own voice, just emotionless and cold.
So emotionless, in fact, that most people would never connect the two.

‘Based on current data, error margin is less than 0.01%.’

‘So… why do I have information on the chemical signature of computer parts?’

The mental exchange happened at lightning speed, and Jiang Cha quickly figured it out.

In short: she had awakened some kind of superpower during her coma—a passive ability that continuously collected information from her surroundings and integrated it into her brain.

The reason she was unconscious for a whole week was because the information intake was too high, and her brain had automatically gone into hibernation to handle the load.

Otherwise, she would’ve woken up in just three days.

Armed with this knowledge, Jiang Cha became even more wary of the woman whose breathing was growing heavier and hotter.

Though, based on her actions so far…

“Is she just… horny?”

The newly reborn Jiang Cha had no idea how to handle this situation. She was completely at a loss.

Luckily, someone came to the rescue.

“Helen! Get the hell off my junior!”

A girl with mid-length black hair—Jiang Cha was very sure she was stuffing her bra—kicked the door open. At just about 160 cm tall, she stormed in and grabbed the voluptuous woman (Helen) like a misbehaving cat and yanked her off the bed.

“Si Nan, I was just trying to bond with our new recruit. I wasn’t going to do anything else.”

Helen dangled from Si Nan’s grip, wrapping her legs around her waist like she’d done it a hundred times, and shrugged helplessly.

“You don’t need to be in bed or using weird computer-scented stuff to bond with a junior!”

Si Nan reached into Helen’s clothes and expertly pulled out a pink bottle. A flash of blue light flickered around her body as she crushed it in her hand. Then she grabbed Helen by the waist, spun her around like a shot put, and launched her—

out the window.

Jiang Cha stared, dumbfounded, as the sweet-looking girl named Si Nan threw a tall, curvy woman who must’ve weighed over 100 pounds clean out of a second-story window.

Swoosh— she went flying.

“Based on all known logic… I must be dreaming.”

With that thought, Jiang Cha calmly laid herself back down, tucking herself in under the covers like a good little girl.

‘Reject: Brain status optimal. No signs of sleep cycle detected. Consciousness fully active after three-stage neural enhancement.’

The cold, robotic voice crushed her dreamlike delusion without mercy.

“Yup. Figures. No one who becomes a witch is ever normal…”

Si Nan sighed, rubbing her forehead as she looked at the peacefully tucked-in Jiang Cha, then walked over and—

ripped off her blanket.

“Get up, junior! This isn’t a dream!”

Jiang Cha was yanked—blanket and all—into the air.

At that moment, her mind went completely blank.

Just as she was about to crash headfirst into the floor and get a concussion, a burst of blue light erupted from her body, illuminating the whole room. Her brain kicked into overdrive.

In that instant, she could control every single muscle in her body with perfect precision.
Time itself seemed to slow down—like the world had entered bullet-time.
Before she even adjusted her landing posture, she had enough mental bandwidth to hum a song in her head.

And in that moment, Jiang Cha understood—

She had transcended humanity.
