“Senior is preparing her Angel transformation, Violet is summoning undead to shield herself, the rest is up to me.”
It was Wednesday. Jiang Cha, whose magical power had just been adjusted, immediately arrived at the Battle Club. Operating at full power, her red eyes flickered with a faint mysterious blue light. Her face was expressionless, yet she issued commands with extreme speed.
Although witches could communicate swiftly and conveniently using magical information, every battle witch also trained to interfere with such information. Jiang Cha didn’t want to gamble on whether Daisy’s team hadn’t trained for this, so she simply chose to use High-Speed Divine Speech, a low-level divine magic, to issue her instructions.
Mid-level Divine Will Transmission could also work perfectly without interference from sound, but it consumed more mana, so it was only a supplementary option—not suitable for continuous use.
No response was awaited. Every second in a witches’ battle could be a matter of life and death.
Jiang Cha raised her hand to cast a low-level Dark Shield, releasing a wall of black undead that immediately split the battlefield, blocking two incoming fireballs.
The Dark Shield wouldn’t last long under the barrage from the two high-level witches. Daisy’s team, trained for standard advance-and-assault tactics, was very experienced in handling such situations.
Jiang Cha surveyed the battlefield, stepped back, and simultaneously cast a chain of five Arcane Traps. Her right hand brandished the staff.
The staff given by the Great Saint was no ordinary junk she had used before; its casting speed was incredibly fast, and the short staff’s advantage shone here.
She cast Ice Wall.
Just as the Dark Shield began to collapse, the Ice Wall appeared, blocking Daisy’s flaming charge. Meanwhile, countless lightning arrows floated around Jiang Cha, clashing with the mechanical cannons Kelly had summoned.
By this time, only three seconds had passed in the battle.
Violet’s summoned undead had basically formed a military-level force, and Kelly had laid out her mechanical firepower. As the undead army advanced, three undead knights formed a standard squad and charged straight at Daisy to break the Ice Wall. Only then could Jiang Cha finally exhale in relief.
She continued to manipulate the undead under Violet’s partial command. Raising her staff, she cast Cognitive Overlap, maximizing her computational ability. She lightly tapped the ground, sending countless bone spikes shooting up and minimally releasing the undead territory spell Skeleton Hell. She then handed over control to Violet for sustained energy supply while maintaining continuous minion generation in the area.
“Senior, once transformation ends, monitor Misaki; her specialty is demon transformation magic.”
“Violet, increase energy supply to extend the field, then charge up for Death Finger.”
Before Jiang Cha finished speaking, she rolled to dodge Daisy’s ambush. At the same time, she fired a blast of Explosive Flame at Kelly’s mechanical units and used Hurricane with a kick to quickly create distance.
“Why is a first-year witch so slippery?!” Daisy shouted in frustration, continuously casting 20–30 Explosive Flame spells in a near-homing pattern, trying to corner Jiang Cha from all directions.
“That’s because the captain’s too weak,” Misaki said, her expression calm but hiding a touch of madness. She was probably restraining herself from directly summoning a demon to tear Mephist apart.
Kelly, having deployed her mechanical army, began using various mental spells to interfere with Jiang Cha’s side. But even with three high-level witches attacking mentally, Jiang Cha’s team of two spirit-specialist witches maintained their defenses, with the rear, the most vulnerable point, protected by a death witch who counters spirit attacks.
Violet didn’t fear mental attacks; Kelly was completely restrained.
“Violet!” Jiang Cha’s calm voice reassured Violet, who was slightly panicked—a normal reaction for a witch just starting battle training. Mephist would never panic; he would just retreat if outmatched.
“Violet, fire the bone spikes and redirect the undead at Daisy.” Jiang Cha kept her distance and prepared spells.
Glancing at the angel-demon fight elsewhere, she noticed Violet was temporarily on the back foot. She abandoned casting for a moment, pulled out a bone spike, and with Mighty Strength, threw it at Misaki. Violet seized the opportunity, regaining control of the battlefield.
“Captain, watch that brat closely!”
“Ha ha, she’s too slick,” Daisy admitted, realizing she had underestimated Jiang Cha’s evasive combat style. She changed tactics, rushing at Violet.
“Good, now—Death Strike.” Jiang Cha quickly issued instructions with Divine Will Transmission and changed tactics, dashing at the rear to attack Kelly.
During flight, she cast mid-level transformation magic Dragon Fire Wings, boosting her speed. With one punch, she smashed Kelly’s mech.
“What the—! Captain, help!” Kelly shouted, as all magical communications were scrambled by Jiang Cha.
“No help! Misaki, your turn!” Jiang Cha commanded.
Daisy was trapped by Jiang Cha’s secret traps. Violet’s high-level Death Strike was too much for her to counter.
This wasn’t the weak attack of a minor offensive witch—Violet’s casting could instantly kill Daisy with one mistake.
“I’m screwed! Captain, you better kneel and apologize tonight!” Misaki shouted, kicking Mephist to escape suppression and leaving Demon Flame behind to prevent pursuit, rushing toward Jiang Cha.
“Senior, handle Daisy!” Jiang Cha’s instructions followed immediately.
Rather than reacting, it was as if she had already simulated every situation in advance, waiting for the enemy’s choices.
The tactical transitions were seamless—Jiang Cha had successfully neutralized the crisis.
