Its entrance was discreetly tucked away at the end of a side corridor within a scenic garden. From the outside, it appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary flower cultivation room.
Following the instructions, Su Xinxin stepped through the glass door. Inside, no one was present, only rows upon rows of lush green plants.
Once inside, she followed a path marked by glowing indicators, leading her to the innermost section. An unassuming wooden door silently slid open as she approached, revealing a downward-sloping corridor illuminated by warm-toned light strips.
As she descended the gentle slope, the space before her dramatically opened up.
It was as if she had stepped into an entirely different world from the outside!
The dome here soared to a great height, with soft, natural light diffusing from above. It didn’t seem to emanate from artificial lamps, but rather from a device simulating natural daylight, so convincingly that faint wisps of clouds could even be seen drifting slowly.
The scent lingering in the air was equally unique.
It wasn’t a singular floral perfume, but a gentle blend of dozens, even hundreds, of botanical aromas. The rich fragrance of roses settled beneath, the delicate elegance of jasmine floated above, interspersed with the astringency of grass blades, the bitterness of tree bark, and a freshness reminiscent of rain-soaked earth.
All these scents were perfectly balanced, like a complex symphony, allowing one to perceive a clear aroma without it ever becoming overpowering.
The walls here were a warm white, with a faint light shimmering across their surface, like sunlight filtering through shallow water. These halos of light slowly shifted in color—orange-yellow, pale pink, soft violet—enveloping the entire space in a dreamlike quality.
It exuded a sense of high-tech sophistication, filled with unknown marvels, rather than the mystery typically associated with magical constructs.
In the center of the grand hall stood a colossal, luminous sculpture.
Only upon closer inspection did Su Xinxin realize it wasn’t a tree, but an intricate structure woven from countless glowing vines. Between the vines, holographic images of various flowers slowly bloomed and closed: peonies full and lush, lilies slender and graceful, irises unfurling. Each appeared so real one could almost smell its fragrance.
‘Truly worthy of the Floral Sanctuary, with flowers adorning every corner,’ she mused.
Beneath the sculpture were benches, where several Magical Girls sat, conversing in hushed tones. Their attire varied greatly—some wore skirts adorned with scattered starlight, others had luminous flowers tucked into their hair, while translucent butterfly wings hovered behind a few. All maintained their transformed states, their faces appearing ethereally beautiful in the soft light.
Su Xinxin instinctively tugged at her own short skirt. Here, her goose-yellow and ivory-white ensemble seemed rather plain. She had already completed her transformation before entering.
“Master, welcome to the branch!” Xiao Ming’s voice resonated in her mind. “Here, everyone interacts under their ‘flower’ identities. No matter who you are in reality, unless you choose to reveal it, no one will know. Well… except for the upper echelons, of course.”
She approached a guidance screen on one side of the hall. The screen automatically lit up, sensing her proximity, and displayed a map of the branch.
Before she could even make a selection, a glowing path immediately appeared on the floor beneath her feet, pointing towards an archway on the right, as if sensing something.
At the end of that corridor, a classroom designated for Jasmin’s training was indicated.
Su Xinxin walked inside. As she gently pushed the door open, the room was empty.
The room was not large, yet it was comfortably arranged. The walls were a soft off-white, and one side featured a full-length glass curtain wall, offering a view of a virtual courtyard landscape. Various flowers swayed in a gentle breeze, some with petals as slender as silk, others with blossoms as large as a full moon, their colors transitioning from pale blue to warm orange, evoking a sense of warmth.
On the curved table in the center of the room, two pots of real flowers sat side-by-side.
The pot on the left held white, small flowers loosely trailing from slender green branches—it was Jasmin.
The pot on the right contained pure white petals, delicately fragrant, with glossy green leaves—it was Jasmine.
Both pots of flowers were adorned with fresh water droplets, silently diffusing their respective scents in the indoor light. The subtle elegance of Jasmin and the delicate aroma of Jasmine gently mingled in the air.
Evidently, these had been prepared in advance to welcome Jasmin and Jasmine.
Su Xinxin took a seat at the spot marked with a ‘Jasmin’ nameplate.
She checked her phone, which displayed the time: 8:10.
She was still fifty minutes early, despite having woken up early, eaten breakfast, and taken her time traveling, enjoying the scenery. It was simply an old habit to rise early.
“Master, take a deep breath,” Xiao Ming hopped onto the table, its paw gently touching the petals of the Jasmin flower. “It’s your first training session, try to relax. Your counterpart is also a new instructor; they might be even more nervous than you.”
“Mm.”
Su Xinxin nodded softly, saying nothing more. She seemed lost in thought, as if recalling something from the past.
Time stretched onward in the waiting.
At 8:55, the door was pushed open.
“Sorry, have you been waiting long?”
A clear voice, its tone carrying a natural apology.
Su Xinxin looked up.
A Magical Girl stood in the doorway. She wore a pure white off-the-shoulder crop top, a vibrant green pleated miniskirt, white over-the-knee socks, and light green ankle boots. Her style of dress was indeed somewhat similar to Su Xinxin’s, but it was more lively and refined.
A soft glow emanated from the girl, and as she stepped into the room, a delicate jasmine fragrance seemed to waft through the air.
Most striking was her long, silver-white hair, like silk woven from moonlight, with natural curls at the ends. A delicate jasmine hair clip was fastened to her left temple, its petals embedded with tiny light crystals that subtly shimmered with her movements.
Su Xinxin’s first reaction was—
‘This young woman’s hair is completely white at such a young age?’
The thought was so abrupt that she quickly suppressed it, but the surprise in her eyes remained.
“Uh, this is actually…”
Xiao Ming seemed about to explain, but then deemed it inappropriate and refrained from saying more.
Jasmine happened to look up, meeting her gaze.
Their eyes locked.
Jasmine’s heart skipped a beat. This newcomer’s gaze… why was it so strange? It wasn’t admiration or curiosity, but rather… the scrutinizing look of an elder relative observing a junior?
Setting aside the peculiar gaze, this Jasmin’s appearance was quite remarkable. Her goose-yellow, slightly wavy long hair accentuated her fair skin, and her features were soft. Especially the curves of her figure beneath her Magical Girl attire—Jasmine subconsciously compared herself, and nodded. ‘Hmm… she seems a bit more voluptuous than me.’
“Master! Facial expression management!” Xiao Li’s voice gently reminded Jasmine in her mind.
Jasmine quickly straightened up and cleared her throat. “H-hello! I’m Jasmine, your training instructor.” She spoke a little quickly, as if reciting a prepared script.
Su Xinxin also snapped back to reality, standing up. “Hello, Instructor Jasmine. I am the trainee, Jasmin.”
Her voice was clear and gentle, her tone excessively steady. Her movement to stand was also slow, carrying a certain… ceremonial gravitas, like an old cadre at a meeting?
Jasmine’s internal alarm bells rang again. This newcomer felt… rather serious?
“No need to call me instructor, it’s too formal.” Jasmine tried to make her voice lighter, walking to the table and sitting down in front of her nameplate. Her eyes lit up as they swept over the two pots of flowers on the table. “Oh, they really did prepare our source flowers, Jasmin and Jasmine. How thoughtful.”
Her gaze naturally fell upon the small, snow-white spirit on the table—Xiao Ming was sitting primly beside the Jasmin flowerpot, its long ears politely tilted forward.
“Your spirit is so cute, so white,” Jasmine said with a smile.
Xiao Ming’s ears twitched with delight.
Su Xinxin, of course, wanted to return the compliment and praise Jasmine’s spirit, but after looking around, she couldn’t find one.
Once seated, Jasmine’s fingers gently touched the petals of her own jasmine flower. “My Jasmine, your Jasmin… Speaking of which, our flowers are from the same family and genus, making us ‘close relatives.'”
Su Xinxin sat back down, her hands neatly folded in her lap. “Close relatives?”
“Yes! Like sisters. I remember… Jasmin has an alias, ‘Grandiflorum Jasmine’! And in some languages, ‘Jasmine’ and ‘Jasmin’ are the same word!”
Jasmine smiled, and the atmosphere relaxed slightly. It was a good thing she had crammed some homework before coming. She continued, “So our magical properties will have similarities—both leaning towards soothing and purification, and our floral scents both have a calming effect. However, the specific differences are still quite significant for each person.”
Su Xinxin merely nodded, offering no reply. The room seemed to fall silent at that moment.
Outside, the virtual sea of flowers continued its silent sway, while the two pots of real flowers on the table bloomed quietly. The two Magical Girls sat opposite each other, unsure of what to say next.
Jasmine’s fingers subtly intertwined beneath the table.
‘What should I say? I’ve forgotten all my prepared opening lines. This newcomer’s aura is so strange. She looks gentle and mild, yet she somehow makes me nervous.’
Su Xinxin also mentally asked Xiao Ming, “‘Should I initiate a conversation?”
“Talk about flowers?” Xiao Ming suggested. “You can never go wrong talking about flowers between Magical Girls.”
“Um…” Su Xinxin cautiously began, her gaze falling on the floral ornament in Jasmine’s hair. “Your jasmine flower… it’s truly beautiful.”
Jasmine blinked, thinking the other person was referring to the real flower on the table. “Right? I think so too! Of course, this Jasmin flower is also beautiful; it’s blooming perfectly.”
Despite a small misunderstanding, the ice had finally been broken.
Both sighed in relief simultaneously.
“So, shall we… begin the lesson?” Jasmine asked tentatively.
“Okay,” Su Xinxin responded with a nod.
